Yes, I turned my 220g into 320g just today.
No, I’m not going to post about the method in here in the public forums, but lets just say it was only a recently added efficiency to something I have been doing for the last couple weeks, and the profit per hour just jumped 5 fold (from around 5g/hr to about 25g/hr). The market is already starting to adapt to what I (as well as likely several others) am doing here, but I expect profits to hold in the 15g/hr to 20g/hr range for another couple days until the unnamed “thing” I am doing continues to catch on for a greater share of the player population.
Sorry I can’t share more, but obviously it would be dumb as hell to post about anything in detail here on the public forums. Maybe once I hit 600g and can buy out my legendary, but I don’t really expect the niche to hold that long.
Also, notably, there was nothing in the patch notes about this.
Does this “thing” involve in any way the Mystic Forge?
Some ppl may disagree but in my opinion Flamethrower in its current state is only usefull in spvp(but only in certain builds for pushback and blind skills) and can be handy for DE’s grinding in Orr. Thats it.
Even if traitet for it, flamethrower is no good as main damage kit/weapon. Sure, you can use it as such, but you will be seriously kittening yourself. Its underpowered damage wise and bugged – auto attack skill(1) while moving/strafing will miss half of the time. Skills 2 and 4 are pretty bad and akward to use.
Its rather useless for WvW, and its painfull to use as leveling weapon.
Pistols scale better with condition damage while flamethrower scales better with power ihmo, altho it also couses burning which is very strong condition.
Problem with flamethrower is that its close to useless, especially in pve. Its terribly bugged and rather weak(in compare to bombs and granades) even if traited for it.
In pvp ppl use it mostly for its utility (pushback and blind), not as main damage weapon/kit. Bombs and granades are much better for pve. Granades are only viable opton in WvW tbh.
I personally prefered rifle+bombs and granades as they are more powerfull and make leveling much easier. Bombs and granades destroy groups of mobs easly, while rifle is perfect for dealing with veteran mobs due to its great control skills. Pistols felt rather weak in pve for me.
Actually maybe you should do yourself a favor mate and roll a diferent class if you want to avoid frustration and disapointment in the long run :P
Engineer is bugged as hell, last patch that was heavily anticipated was actually a nerf and coused even more bugs. Nothing is done about major bugs that exists since beta, we get changes and tweaks that nobody asks for instead, and only good skills that made engineer competitive are getting nerfed with every patch.
Sometimes it feels that both guys working on class balance(yeah, they have only 2 ppl working on it lol) havent even played the game.
/angry mode off
Dont get me wrong, I love engineer, its very fun and cool class. But be prepared for a tons of bugs and no love from Anet.

I really tried not to get my hopes high for this patch, even when we got info about lot of changes to the engi, but it didnt even cross my mind that we can be nerfed like this…
Words cant describe my dissapointment.
Problem with 8vs8 hot join is that there is no incentive to win a match.
Rewards for playing as it was intended and winning are so small and meaningless that its just better to run around with zerg (using DPS spec), recapping points and killing enemies.
When I tried to play hot join to win the match, capping and defending points, sneaking behind the enemy zerg and capping their points etc, I usually ended up with around 100 glory with + 30 bonus for the win, while whole enemy team got 200 + glory for lost match just becouse they run around in zerg killing everything they spotted and not bothering about game objectives. This was very common situation.
The moment I changed my node defender build for roaming spec and started running mindlesly with my zerg I was getting usually 250+ glory, doesnt mater win or lose…
In tournament pvp you get nice rewards(chests, glory) for getting into next rounds(and winning tournament), winning is everything there, so ppl play as it was intended. In hotjoin “playing as it was intended” is not rewarding at all.
Hotjoin is not even very good for testing new builds, as 8vs8 has totaly diferent gameplay dynamics than tournament 5vs5.
Te problem is that maps and whole spvp system was build around 5vs5 tournaments. Putting 16 ppl in maps that were designed for 10 ppl, and not giving any good reason to win hotjoin game is a totail design fail.
Arenanet has to do something, and fast, or spvp part of this game will end up with very small, hardcore playerbase.

One thing to consider ihmo is that every race has diferent camera placement. Camera on norn is much higher then for example on asura character. I did some testing and for me its easier to aim and throw granades with camera placed higher, especially if you use “fast ground targetting”. Its not game braking of course but for me using granades as asura was awqward.
When I found out about this camera placement thingy I just deleted my lvl 20 asura engi, rerolled human(wish i made norn) engi and never looked back.

Link with your build would be nice
download some monitoring software and see what your cpu and gpu susage
What software monitors cpu and gpu usage? Im looking around but im finding mostly software monitoring cpu and gpu temperatures
I detonate healing turret around 1-1.5 second after casting it to get combo. Works 99% of the time.
I read somewhere that you can do this every time it “ticks” the regen, but I havent tested it yet so can’t confirm.
