Not to mention that it’s not QoL. When will people finally learn what QoL is?
QoL is Quality of Life, it’s every single stuff that make gameplay feel better, smoother, more intuitive etc
As for 1500 stack, it was 2 years ago? WTF, well, before HoT release I was not checking game too often, but after, I was playing every single living story (well, 2-3h each, just enough to complete map and most achis), but still did not notice
Split damage dealing stacks for each character that deal them, while decreasing max stack count per character to 15~20 count per stack in PvE and 5~10 count per stack in PvP
With new elite specs that are condition oriented, I do not quite like to be locked down with decision: play power or go solo, cause condition builds disturb each other
Hello,
With new elite specialisations (mist of which are condition oriented) I wish to bring back the topic of Condition Damage stacks.
Currently there is a single stack per condition per target, regardless of how many people attack that target.
For solo play, if power build had same dps as condition build, they are equal and it is alright. For team/raid multiple condition damage builds disturb each other. If one person can keep full bleeding stacks, then other bleeding oriented builds do nothing at all, decreasing overall team effectiveness. Therefore teams usually consist of power builds, for certain situations (say raids, enemies condition vulnerability), where you could add 1 bleeding build and 1-2 burning build (so they do not disturb each other).
For open world it is even worse, if multiple people bring condition builds, then they disturb each other dps. The more condition there is, the less effective it is (and this possibility is quite likely with quite a few condition oriented new elite specialisations)
Suggestion: Split stacks. For example it there’s Final Fantasy XIV, where several people can cast Miasma and Bio on same target in addition to pets/summons and each of them deals damage. Every player have his own debuffs and each of them works separately (there are some ailments that are shared, like slow, cripple etc)
Just separating them would issue a bit too much power creep, especially for pvp, so here’s my solution:
Split damage dealing stacks for each character that deal them, while decreasing max stack count per character to 15~20 count per stack in PvE and 5~10 count per stack in PvP
TL;DR: read last paragraph
confirmed, still bugged
Thoughts about Mastery System (+feedback?)

Hello, Neltisen’s here
For starters, You did a nice job on making core game and expansion (on most part, from what I saw so far). Mastery system is a nice addiction, though lacks some core stuff that is fundamental for GW since 2005 – Story. I never was a big fan of usual grind MMOs without any story at all. I always liked Guild Wars for its story. Current Mastery system does not add up with the rest of the game.
Let’s take gliding for starters. New area, vast skies, surely, some gliding would fit here. Where to start? Build it from scraps of fallen Falcons (I mean flying ships – reference to FF; there are games where you craft it)? No, all you got to do is finishing 30 events. No story, no crafting, just 30 events and poof, you got glider.
Now you want to upgrade glider to make it more durable and pick higher winds. What to do? Craft? No! Just do 60 events and poof, it’s better now.
There are a lot of various mushrooms around area. How to use them? Are they edible? Some deem to be durable enough to jump on, try it? Ask around how to use them properly? Nope, just do 30 events.
New/Other races. Maybe learn their languages? How to do it? Speak with them and learn by bits? Kill many and learn from their screams? Nope, do 60 random events.
My point is: some masteries are required for getting around and/or raids, but there is not activity connected to them other than just looking for events and grinding them over and over (during last weekend, repeating escorts over and over was probably the fastest way). For tyria Masteries, I hope at least, that xp gained in dungeons will progress tracks. If only open world experience will progress them, it just turns them into grinder part of game (probably it will get more lively in Silverwastes, cause it offers many events repeating on short delays and closeby).
I would really like to see some story connected to masteries as well as some other means to progress them, than just xp grind.
Pretty extensive topic, but point given. How other guys feel about this system as a whole?
found 3rd, easy way ahead of 2, but no idea what to do next
if it makes you feel better. Playing gw2 since beta and never got any percursor yet. Used to throw several hundred lvl 80 rares from time to time (usually crafted by myself) and tens (hundreds?) of exotics (recently 3x coupled with mystic stone). My best out was 8-g worth exotic. Spend about 3k gold, could buy a legendary weapon by now or a few precursors. Unfortunately I feel like some of rng is tied to accounts themselves. I have bad rng in almost everything: like scarlet event where mystery quaggan tonic dropped, after hours I got none (my brother went in for 10 minutes to see the event, got it after 7); Luminescent armor? took me 49 boss runs to drop first chest box… worry not, there is always someone with worse luck
PS: and yes, I joined ancient karka event, had lvl 80 for ages, got exotic from chest, but it was a trash spear

lucksters. Got my first (non achi one) on 40th boss run. 45th (and counting) and still need one more
Warrior:
- easiest class to play, with axe build, basically you just autoattack for crazy amounts of dps;
- in dungeons, you just gotta pick right banner. If you are only warrior, usually pick both, precision and strength banner. If more warriors, gotta make sure you do not duplicate banner. Guard needs a lot more thinking and experience;
- solo pve – warrior as well – perma swiftness (or melee speed trait, 25%) [guard is too slow moving for solo pve], fast, high dps, when need range, longbow works great (longbow skill #3 is op);
- mass pve farm – here wins guardian, staff autoattck ftw;
Hello,
My guild moved to Archeage (most of it) and it became pretty much inactive.
I’m pretty much experienced in the game. 15k+ AP, experienced in pve, wvw, pro puzzle jumper, only not much experienced in tpvp. Got all professions, geared at least well+, experienced in most of them.
Looking for a guild that is:
- big and active (my old one on peak times had 80~100 members online)
- doing group fun events (quizes, naked dungeon runs, quaggan zerg runs etc.)
- weekly (or twice a week) guild missions runs
- guild wvw, dungeon, fractals, boss runs
- fun, got some crazy members for offtopic, fun talk xD
Port of option available in original Guild Wars: gear/ability/trait templates.
Now that out of combat you can reset and redistribute traits (in addition to changing skills and gear), this option would be really, really useful. If someone got 2-3 viable builds for several different fights (say dungeon, mass aoe build, then boss, then some event), well, he can pretty much easily change basically everything on his build between fights. But, it takes time. Especially when you do not know very well which traits were in certain setup, you begin to read them all over and it takes time. Instead of speeding up, it might slow down more than it would buy time. And here’s the resolve: templates.
Save ingame items/skills/traits to, say, txt file in game folder, and can load them in fly, between fights.
New lifing world incoming, it would be awesome to see that feature there.
Thank you for your support, I love you guys!
Regards,
Neltisen
Guild: Arcane Mayhem
Server: Underworld
I’m the only guild member (suddenly, 450 members left? xD)
- influence: 0
- merits: 0/250
- members: 1/1
- guild chat unavailable
- no upgrades
- guild tag went missing as well, only guild name left
Happaned today, looking forward a fix
Hello,
I was looking all over, but it seems that there are no stuff with Vitality/Power/Precision stat combo in PvE. Would be nice to be able to find that stat combo in Pve/WvW
