How about you say what will you give to players who bought the game full price and who supported you with all the gem buying through these 3 years.Every MMO that had transfered to F2P gave something to already existing players in conpensation.I would like the answer to these questions and not just some random “Welcome” post from Gaile. It is really hard to love you Anet anymore. And i pray that there wont be some server hickups becouse of these F2P acounts.

lol, they haven’t delivered any “content” for months now… and even when they were “delivering” content in the form of living story episodes, you seem to be forgetting the weeks long “breaks” they were taking

But when you got something you got it for free. Stop complaining about free stuff.

You got it for free? I had to buy the game in 2012 to get it. No wonder you’re so protective of ANet, they apparently gave you the game for free.

Yes, I did not have to purcahse anything from Living Story season 1 or season 2. I got it for free.

When you paid for the game you paid for every update, up to and including season 2.

No, I paid for the base game in it’s vanilla state. Everything that followed was a free bonus. I didn’t pay for the Living Story updates and I didn’t pay for the patches and class tweaks. I guess that’s the reason why I don’t have a problem. 70$ for Guild Wars 2 in its vanilla state without any Living Story was one hell of a good deal especially since there’s no monthly subscription fee.

You did NOT pay Arenanet in advance so they owe you a personal butler that brings you three years worth of updates on a silver platter. You paid for Guild Wars 2 in it’s vanilla state. Nothing more, nothing less.

But you payed them by buying gems and other “cosmetic” things from the BLT.Dont forget that there isnt free to play or buy to play game.

That has nothing to do with what I said. Buying gems is completely optional. You get all the Living Story updates and patches without buying gems.

But yet Anet is making third in the profit. It isnt just by selling copies of GW2 it is from selling gems.So other games like WOW have subs and GW2 has its BLT and gems. Its oke to fund development in that way ,but dont say that we are getting it for free becouse we are not

i cant believe what i am reading? Are you people sane to give them 50 bucks for maybe 1 map,1 new proff.,guild halls,1 wvw map and some features that should be gotten for free via updates? Are you oke for to pay 10 more bucks for one lousy character slot?Do you think that it is oke for people who bought game on sale like just one month ago ,to buy expansion for 50 bucks and get for free that same vanilla GW2 that they bought on sale? This is so bad bussiness practice and it was like hit in the groins for majority of vets and rescently new players. You bought 2 ultimate for 200 bucks.Good for you ,that you have money to throw into uncertain product with false advertising. They screwed this up big times and all of you blind followers cant deny that and you know it

Hey A-net here is an idea! Instead of hiding behind your fan-boys and PR youtubers how about you actually come out with an official statement on the matter? Don’t get me wrong everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the fact that A-net are being so dodgy about this topic speaks volumes about how sleazy this is.

sigh I don’t think this was a deliberate kick in the face, this was very obviously something someone thought would be a good idea and then did it without thinking of the consequences, but that doesn’t excuse you from your mistakes, own up to them and figure out a way to fix them instead of just pretending they don’t exist

Look A-net I appreciate all that you have done, and I’m sure the “Free game for new players” sounded great on paper, heck I’m not denying it’s a great deal for new players, BUT are you really so cheap and greedy that you can’t kitten give players who already own GW2 800 gems or a Base Game Code to create an alt account?

You can’t ignore this, and the longer you do the more the wound festers and the more kittened off vets you will have, and as a result the less HoT will sell simple as that, and if you do ignore it, well good luck explaining to your bosses at NC-Soft why most of the existing playerbase didn’t buy HoT

I must say this. They have complete kittens in marketing/finance department. They cant even solve gold inflation .Its like they didnt even watch the feedback from forums when peaople said that they think that optimal price for exp. was 40 bucks.Me as customer ,allways weights game (how much am i getting for the price i am paying) this way and so far they showed very little and its not even worth 40 bucks.Even worse is that there is no option to just buy expansion and vets and peaople who bought game on some sale earlier are now screwed over. That is bad practice and Anet shouldnt stay silent. They should act fast and fix this mess and ofcourse sack those fools who thought this was good idea

every expansion in GW1 that had new proffession had one or two character slots added and still their price tag was better.Every expansion had new setting and huge world to dive in.
So why should i pay 50 dollars -50 euros for expansion that has new proffession which i cant play becouse i dont have free char. slot, that almost certainly has less then half maps of GW 2 vanilla?Only one elite specialization per proffession?Bunch of features that should be added for free(and they were until now)?
Did you look at forum poll dear developers about how much are players willing to pay for expansion?I think 40 dollars was max. I am disappointed how Anet is managing this

If the original game was 50 euros then expansion should be aroun 30-40 euros. That is reasonable price for me

You can call it what ever you want, being large update or LS update or feature pack. The core problem is lack of content, few end game maps, broken dungeons, crazy long grind bolsted with RNG,wvwvw that lacks any meaning, boring pvp. There is certanly more things that need to be adressed. So the easiest way to solve majority of those problems is making an expansion with maybe some few goodies like new proffesions, race.Oh and if you think that only “Minority of short-sighted individuals” is asking expansion you are very much wrong.GW2 has steady decline of player base and only blinded fanatics can say that the game is oke and that we need 1 hour of content updates every 3 weeks and that all will be oke.Oh and i must say that LS mark 2 is better then previous one ,but those two new maps ,while they are nice and cool looking ,they dont have substance of old maps (less hearts, events) and to me they feel somehow empty

There is "probably" no expansion, its a myth

I do hope that Anet is smart enough to release some expansion, becouse even though LW season 2 is good it isnt nearly enough to satisfy majority of people.GW2 lacked end game zones from the beggining and dungeons proved to be one big dissaster. And i agree that thse new map dont have nearly as much events as vannila maps.
