Remove it? That would solve the problem of having inactive teammates in the matches that are there just to fulfill the requirements for getting the achievement points.
possibly they could add a afk kick timer which would kick in after 3mins or so to help reduce this..
Well you see, the thing is within those 3 minutes – they can move their avatar around a bit and the system won’t consider them as being afk as they serf the net and such and come back to the game when the match is over.
The daily achievement points is ruining PVP. I used to play it and have fun, but not any more. More and more people are playing it so that they can get the daily achievement points instead of actually playing it. They go in, and then they afk to get the the points needed for like say the “playing 3 daily matches” or just “capturing 3 points” then they afk. This ruins the balancing of the match ups.
bump…these bugs are still not looked at?
to of the same sigils does increase the chance to proc, but the 2nd sigil increase the chance of it to proc by that chance of the sigil (so in your case with 30% a seconds sigil of same type would increase it to 30*1.30 = 39% and not 60% as you might think, 2 different proc sigils would be sharing their cd so whichever ones happen to proc will put both of the sigils on that sigils cd
What if I have a superior and major sigil of fire? Is that still considered as the “same sigils?” If they are treated differently, than their chances of proc would be additional and not multiplied, so it would be 30%+20%=50%?
No. You can only have one on-crit sigil, if you have two only the one in your offhand will trigger. Easily tested in the Mists, get two weapons with different sigils (one Sigil of Air and one Sigil of Fire) and try them on the golems, only your main hand sigil will trigger. I’m positive the exact same happens if you have two of the same. There is no gain for having two sigils of the same type, they don’t stack and they share cooldowns.
Actually they do, you can certainly have more than 1 on crit chance sigils and have both of the proc on crit. I just tried it in the mist and out of the mist with a superior sigil of fire and air. Both can trigger, but just not at the same time. The fire aoe effect is obvious, but the lightening effect isn’t so obvious. You have to check the damage log, it will tell you. The damage from the lightening strike is bout 15% more than the damage from the fire.
The question that remains is if whether or not the chances are equal in procting. I had a fire sigil in my offhand axe, and a air sigil in my main hand sword and the fire sigil damage appeared most often in my damage log. Maybe if I had more runs with it the data will normalize to 50/50.

I am not sure what you mean by “same sigils”

What if I have a superior sigil of fire and lightening (using duel weapons)? Will that mean I will have 60% chances of getting a sigil effect on a crit since they are completely different sigils?
Thank you in advance for the answers. I’ve googled searched for over an hour for the answers and still haven’t found it. GW2 wiki still don’t have the info updated on this and I tried testing it, but it takes too long to get enough trials on hits to get accurate results.
Skills that are bugged
Signet of rage’s passive ability: Grants adrenaline
What Bug? – it doesn’t grant adrenaline passively or actively. The skills passive effect bares no differences in the adrenaline recharge rates in or out of combat.
Trait Skill called “Build Momentum” in the strength tree line:
Effect – restore endurance
What Bug? – I was testing this trait in the mist with the single hand sword burst skill. I activated the burst skill when I have 0 endurance. The attack does come into contact, but I notice that my endures does not fill up, nor does it recharge any faster.
Note: I tried it with other weapons like the long bow’s burst skill and it does refill 1 bar of endurance, but using a single hand sword’s burst skill does not recharge any.

I am also having the same isse, all of my rabbit finishers, glory boosters and tournament tickets all disappear the next day. I earn them from the matches and I bank them on a char. But when I check on it the next day, they all are gone.

Fort Aspenwood just completed Temple of Balthazar at 10:15 pm PST Wed 12/19/2012
There was a glitch last night, where people were using this particular item to make large supply stacks of ectos, so it is now disabled until a patch can fix it.
There is this person who has been very irritating for the past week or so, and I want to block him so I don’t have to read the annoying comments and insults, but I can’t seem to block him. I reported him for spamming but he is still here. When ever I right click his name in the chat window, only the option “report” is available. Are we no longer able to block people in chat windows?
So if i place a big order on intricate totems(2 × 250 for 1s50c each. =7.5gold x 0,05=37,5silver to list my buyorder), and someone else outbuyorders me by 1 copper with an order of 500, and someone else outbuyorders him and me, and so on and so on.
I need those totems to craft so i am going to have to cancel my buyorder and lose my 37,5 silver, or wait for buyorder to fill for god knows how long and not be able to craft. Bad.Perhaps those orders that are placed higher than yours are fake buy orders, and implementing a fee will prevent that. In any case, 5% of 1s50c is like 7 copper. If you can afford over 6 gold of lesser mats, then 37 silver in fees shouldn’t be out of your reach.
I was looking at the price of a certain T5 mat earlier and it was around 85c each. Just as I finished creating this post on this forum, the buy order jumped to 1 silver each. I placed an order for 250 x T5 mats, and in less than 10 min I got 250 mats. I paid close attention to the price and buy orders that are beneath me for over 30 mins. And surely they are not being filled as quickly as mines were. Which tells me that they are being manipulated at the time. I would rather pay a 5% fee than see all this artificial inflation and being taken an advantage of. The way that mat went up by 15c is 15% jump in price.
So, wait, the orders below you were not filling as fast as your own order, that makes you believe that it’s market manipulation?
Well, let me paint the picture for you since you didn’t have time to watch that video clip.
The mat on average price is 85c, the manipulator places fake buy orders to increase it little by little to the desire price…
10,000 units 1s20c
.
.
.
100 units 99c
200 units 98c
100 units 90c
100 units 88c
600 units 85c
If I need the mats badly, I will place an order for 200 units for 1s21c seeing how that huge 10,00 units order will take a while to fill. In which the manipulater will sell it to me right away as soon as I close the TP window. I then check the order lower than me, which is his artificial order for 1s20c each, its not filling as fast or instantly as mines was by the hundreds. As soon as I place another 200 units over his fake order, he will sell it to me again. After a short period of time, he will then withdraw all of the artificial orders he placed between the real average price and his last fake order, and teh price will fall again. After factoring the 15% TP fee, he will still end up with a profit.
Psychology comes into play in manipulating the market, not just number figures. With a lot of money, you can greatly influence the market, 1000 gold is pocket change to a lot of wealth players out there already. With 1000 gold you can control the price of charged load stones like someone is doing now since its supply is very low. Who ever it is, he’s smart enough to buy out a large amount of the charged cores, frags, and shards too. Just open the trading post and look up charged shard. You’ll notice there is someone selling 800+ shards for 10 silver each, while the other prices after his are in the quantity of 1-3.

Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxqviXuS1vY&feature=player_embedded#!
and go see the section time marked 1:15:00 Pay attention to the guy trying to explain the process in the excel spread sheet.
This clip was made back in August and teaches you how to manipulate the market using “fake orders” – which inflates price, and creates an illusionary market which they will take out when they make the money they want. They are using copper in this example, but can be applied to all kinds of mats. People can buy low and sell high to make money. But by manipulating the market you can buy high and seller higher. When a group of people pool their wealth together, they can magnify the manipulation.

Since there is already a fee for listing items for sale, and a fee for profit, why can’t we have a fee for submitting buy orders for buying items in large quantities. I use the TP every day, and I notice that more and more people (who are getting insanely richer) have the potential to manipulate the market prices by creating fake buy orders to either inflate the prices so that they can sell their huge stocks for a much higher than average value. They can also use the method to fill up their orders faster preventing others from doing it. Because there is no fee in submitting buy orders, they have no consequences and can just withdraw their fake buy orders without losing money.
Some of these people are banding together (partnership) to increase the effectiveness.
This in game market can be as realistic as in real life. Therefore if someone default on their orders, there should be some form of consequences.
I propose that this fee (perhaps a 5%) only applies to huge orders likes 200+ which means that it will affect ingrediants and raw material goods. It will not affect people buying gear, which is of a much higher value than the raw material goods and would incur a much higher fee if it had applied.
yes you can do this seperately from the other phases i do suggest however to go to the new map and explore it (waypoints mostly) for easy traveling.
Thank you for the wonder info. See, I didn’t even know about that ship icon on the map and with the npc taking you to the island. I just asked my guild mates and none of them had any idea or clue about it.
I wish that in the future, for holiday events and new things, there would be more directions and notices – Like with the system messages saying the server is shutting down. In this case it could be a system message saying: “A mysterious sailor is taking people abroad on some island get away” or something like that to get people to check it out.
I wasn’t able to part take in Phase1 because it happened while I was AT WORK at noon! So, thank you ANet for putting a ONE TIME event on such a kitteny time. So the next day, I was hoping to do phase 2. However, that chance never came. Why? Well, aside from all the bugs, there were suppose to be certain steps you have to do in order to participate in phase 2. It was such a slap in the face when I found out about this an hour ago.
So my question is, will the 3rd phase be an exclusive event? Will it be for people who had done things contained in phase 1 and 2? What should I do in order to take park in phase 3?
For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about you can go to this guide found on this site:
http://gw2.mmorpg-life.com/
The reason why its hp keeps resetting is because it has those 2 buffs on:
buff 1: Unshakable
buff 2: armored
Just take those 2 buffs off that makes it immortal so that it can be killed. This is why it is not a good idea to have one time only events – happened during Halloween, but ANet still didn’t learn this lesson. What’s embarrassing is the whole trial thing trying to grab new potential players xD
I’ve been here since beta, yes I was aware of the news in the first month. Like you said – it was in the first month. What about new players to the game. These players are not aware of such hack warnings during the first month. More specifically, I am saying that Anet doesn’t go into more details about how hackers are obtaining info, they just simply state that they exists and tell us to be careful on the log in page, which not all people read fine prints and warnings. Judging from the amount of new bots that are appearing, it proves that there are still a lot of people everyday (out of the 1-2 million players/games sold) who are not aware of phishing sites and gold selling sites, and are falling for such traps.
Currently, from the news updates, it seems that they are so focused on identifying bots and banning those accounts as far as creating a certain department of people for it, but not really doing much to mitigate the sources of the problems. Bots and hacks are the after math of phishing and gold sites. They should promote more awareness of it. I open the game launcher, and there is like no warnings about phishing and gold selling sites, only that memo that tells you to consider changing your pass word. You can do this, but if you fall into a trap, your newly changed password is only as good as your old password. Or you can have a bunch of people submitting tickets that they forgot their passwords that they are often changing.
Before this game, I played another MMO that had major hacks and phishing problems some months ago. This game which I probably can’t mention because of the Terms and Conditions has hardly any bots now and huge hacking problems, and it’s not a dead game, and you can go check their forums and it is not filled with forum topics like bots and hackers like GW2 is experiencing now. This is because their moderators and community made it their top priority to educate the players about the phishing and gold selling problems in in-game chats system messages, and message broads – instead of “gms, go find and hunt those bots. Go team go!”
In many other MMOs I’ve played, there is usually a message posted in the announcement thread in the main forum to warn players of phishing websites to help prevent account hacks, but I don’t see one here so I decided to make this topic.
Many probably know what phishing websites are, but for those who don’t know – they are websites that tries to obtain your information about your gw2 account, and even credit card info. Whether it’s through some type of malware or, you unknowingly and willingly give them your info.
One example, which had happened to another MMO game I’ve played are GOLD SELLING SITES! As it is hard for someone who don’t know how to make lots of money in this game, and have real life money to spend, you might be tempted on purchasing gold from these gold selling sites because they give you a better bargain. DON’T! Just don’t buy it from these sites, don’t support them or give any of your account or credit info to them, just don’t visit them either because it is likely that there is malware on it. These gold sellers will use your credit card info to buy more accounts and make more bots, or take over your account for their bots.
I know that A-Net is doing their best to stop these botters, but they are ignoring the source of these botters (since I don’t see any warmings of phishing websites)
I also have another unfortunate news tonight as I am writing this post. One site that I love to go to and I know that many players are using as a game source for their news is guildwars2guru.com. Please do not visit this site until further notice as it has become an attack page with some harmful malware that might try to steal private information. My scanners had just picked it up as an attack page, and I know that not many players have good internet security programs installed.
Thanks for reading,
Neo
I was browsing through the entire forum in this section, is it just me or does anyone else notice that the majority of threads creating on botting issues (which some I saw were legit reasons) were all locked or deleted? An administrator answers the questions and just decides to close it down ending discussion
Anyway, I have been reporting at least 20-30 bots a night (a couple of hand full on the lvl 80 maps) I have decided to just stop reporting. It takes alot of effort and time to click on one bot at a time and send in a report as you try to follow them in game. I hope they come up with some kind of aoe botting report function and so taht we can select the actualy players from a list we see on teh screen – would make it a lot easier xD
Thank you for sharing the info with us mance. Now we know that using the bundle recipe doesn’t give us any higher changes of getting the clovers. I was wondering about this too, but decided not to use this recipe until I get confirmation, so thanks a bunch! I checked with the gw2 wiki, and even on that it says the statics for the 2 recopies were unknown.
Hope you ignore the posters who says you are just whinging, they just have nothing constructive to say and just like bullying others. Hope their comments gets deleted, and you continue sharing

Thanks, that clears it…..
Labyrinth = a maze (a word which I think the Devs don’t know the meaning to)
That Lunatics instance thing is a Maze = a Labyrinth with DE in it.
Maybe next year AN will do better with the naming of these instances and events so people don’t get confused -.-
I am not the only one who is confused about this cause everyone in map chat had asked the same questions and were stomped at this. Well, I hope I ahve time to look up these events some where, thanks Odin!
Ok, currently I have 4/5 achievements. The one that I am missing is the “Halloween Events Completed” achievement. I was told by everyone in map chat that I can go to the Labyrinth instance to complete events there and get credit for it….(its the maze where you are either the villager or a ghost trying to get at each other) . I did the events there – events like collecting torches, spider webs, and other items lying around and turning them in. But no matter how many I turn in or how many of them I do, I still didn’t get credit for these events, and even when I finished the Labyrinth match, I still didn’t get credit towards the Halloween Events accomplishment.
I just came across this post from one of the administrators about magic find:
“They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest. " – Isaiah Cartwright
So…they ONLY work on CREATURE KILLs. I was wondering if people kill is considered as a creature kill in WvW. I’ve been farming medals with a full set of magic find gear (100+), but I don’t really see a difference in my luck. If people kill in WvW is not considered as creature kill, then wearing magic find gear is waste as you are sacrificing so much potential defense. I hope someone from AN can shed some more clarification on this again, Thanks!
This is such an annoying exploit and can give people a huge advantage in wvw. I was alone trying to siege a sentry point and saw no one in site as far as I can see on my screen 360 degree. When my hp dipped to about 50%, a few thieves popped out of no where behind me, and it was death for me in a sec before I noticed them. For those who haven’t played a thief class yet, while in stealth, your first skill slot becomes the skill back stab and is one of the highest damaging skill.
Another thing I’ve heard is that the mesmer’s portal skill can make anyone go into stealth/invisible after going through the portal – this has something to do with the rending issue. Again- an exploit that had resulted in the lost of a siege and losing 3 siege equipment in a few sec. VERY UNBALANCED game play if anyone is using these stealth exploits.
