I’m talking about the actual city, not the server BTW.
….5 minutes and counting.
Maybe we need more overflow servers?
I found 3 chests just in the past 3 hours today alone.
Keys? Nadda. Haven’t seen a key in several days.
….I saw something about new dungeons in the previews, but not sure if they are just instances or jumping puzzles or what. Or what levels anything is intended or.
Just curious if events/phases/etc… will be aimed at the level 80s or if everything is open to all levels.
I wish rifles could be a pure build. I’m constantly switching out to flamethrower/burning because rifles alone are horribly low dps. I wish I rolled a different class/profession. But I’m almost 60 and my play time is limited. So, maybe Anet can make us more viable and more buffed with the other classes.
I hate watching enemy life bars go down in little bits and then another class comes along and 3 shots two enemies at once.
They do need a Buyback system for those items.
Maybe put a 24-hour limit on it to prevent abuse.
TIP:
Salvage gear you can’t use or sell and use the material to create gear for your own profession.
WoW has ruined lots of people’s MMO expectations.
WoW has been designed to make people want to race to the end to begin farming Raids for gear.
Guild Wars 2 was designed to make leveling from 1 to 80 a scenic, epic, story-telling masterpiece. You’re not supposed to rush to 80 before you start feeling satisfied with GW2 – it was designed to start blasting you with eye-candy and epic encounters the moment you create your character.
This is the first MMO I’ve played where I feel like I’m ALREADY IN the end-game. I’m not even half-way to level 80 yet, and I feel no less powerful than anyone else in the game.
In fact, I could just run around Tyria uncovering hidden content all day long.
It’s very rewarding to reveal map sections and check out all the cool sights and events.
And the super-huge World vs. World PvP is just freaking amazing.
If you’re looking for Raiding and Valor Point Grinding, look elsewhere. This game is more about rewarding you aesthetically.
It stinks not being able to access our characters in any way while out on the go or stuck at work.
Most othe MMOs have this feature now- to allow players to view their characters online and in some cases even use auction houses or other game-based features.
So, can we expect something like that for GW2 in the near future?
Thanks.
Thanks everyone!
My account is linked properly because I can see all my unlocks in my Hero screen.
I just need to go to Lion’s Arch to get the stone. It never spawned in my inventory.
Where is the portal located at in the Black Citadel that leads to Lion’s Arch?
(I have trouble finding places in these cities – they are so BIG!!!!)
(edited by Netherscourge.1862)
Can I fast-travel to Lion’s Arch from the Black Citadel? Is there a portal somewhere that lets you jump to other cities? Or do they need to be discovered and “unlocked” first like waypoints?
I haven’t ventured much further than the Charr starter lands, so I have no idea how to get to any of the other big cities.
I’m level 21 and almost completely forgot about my HoM stuff.
I’m a Charr Engineer – is there a Charr vendor in the Black Citadel somewhere who gives you the stone?
What’s the fastest way to get it? Where do I go and how do I get there?
Thanks.
I’m sure it’s in the works.
Just about every game these days features some sort of Forum/Game linking of some sort.
I bet there may be an iOS/Android app on the way too.
Hello, I’m currently playing and although I can max all graphics, it does drop to around 15 fps. However I can play with everyone on medium on a 1980×1080 Moniter at about 25-30 fps.
I’m Using[AMD Anthlon X2 Dual core 3.1 Ghz or something.
My ram is 2G.
My graphics card is ATI Radeon 5500.]I plan on buying the Ati 6770, will this be a huge help and would I be able to run the game pretty much perfect? Also not to worry about ram I have like Smartram / Gamebooster running giving me 1.6 before the game opens.
Before you go blow a ton of money, turn off SHADOWS and any Anti-Aliasing. Also, turn on V-Synch.
See how that works for you.
At 1080p, AA isn’t that big of a deal, IMO, since the pixel density is so tight.
Shadows are always a huge system hog.
V-Synch will cap your FPS slightly, but you’ll have a smoother and more consistent experience.
I always tweak those 3 options in PC games and everythign else I leave maxed out with no problems.
Game still looks amazing – just has less shadows, which is actually better for advantage in darker situations.
There may not be a Holy Trinity, but there sure as hell is a NEED for dedicated TANKS.
The only difference in this game is that for HEALING, you’re on your own. If you’re a full DPS glass-cannon type, you better have a full-on Support/Healer in your group.
To say there is no Holy Trinity is slightly misleading – you STILL need Tanks, Healing and DPS – the only difference in GW2 is that everyone needs to assist with Healing and DPSing and they can’t just stack one type of role and expect to succeed.
If you plan on crafting to max levels, I highly recommend bigger bags.
If not, don’t bother. Stick with cheaper bags.
Sylvari Engineer is a funny combo – it’s kind of a counter-culture statement right there.
Being born and bred within a purely natural environment and then busting out big guns and bombs and nuking all wildlife around you.
lol
PC/Laptop: Desktop PC
CPU: i7 920
GPU: Nvidia 460 GTX overclocked 1GB (1080p HD)
RAM: 6GB
FPS: 40 to 55 (But I put V-synch on, so it’s pretty much locking down the FPS for smoother screen rotation)
I have all the detail settings maxed out except for Shadows and AA. I don’t need AA to begin with on my monitor and Shadows are such a system hog and they don’t really impress me anyway.
So it’s mainly Support Combos from the kits? ok, thanks.
I thought I was missing something as a Rifle-wielding maniac.
I think they should add some Rifle skill combos.
I did see some Pistol combos. But with a Rifle, I don’t seem to have any. Which sucks because I like using Rifles.
But, I guess I just have to play using what the game offers instead of trying to make the game do what I want it to do.
Thanks.
I just drop Turrets all over the place and use lots of CC to kill thieves.
I’m sure I’m doing something wrong here.
I’m currently a level 21 Rifle/Turret Engineer. I’m enjoying the game very much and this is my first run as a Engineer.
During the Beta, I played a Ranger and I noticed that my Beta Ranger was able to pull off lots of cool combos for bonus points. Almost all my Ranger’s skills had combos listed in the tooltips with them.
But for some reason I don’t seem to have any combo options right now as a Engineer. (Either that or I’m not seeing them…)
Did I pick the wrong build or something?
Thanks.
Engineer reminds me of Shaman in WoW – Turrents are like Totems. Pure, stationary support.
Shaman have limited Range DPS too. But they have good, short-range Burst DPS.
Engineers need to follow that pattern and ANet needs to buff the short-range burst DPS a lot more.
(I know everyone hates WoW comparisons, but I think this fits actually with WoW Shaman)
I play an Engineer too. Rifle + Turrets mainly.
I know there are better builds. But I like having my Healing Turret and my Rocket/Flame Turrets.
I don’t mind having diminished Range on my rifles. But I do think the damage needs to be buffed to compensate.
And I agree – my turrets get smashed way too fast and they don’t really do much on their own unless I’m using their special abilities.
