I for one do not like it. This is just the first of what will surely be many more universal skills to come. If we start adding universal skills, then what is the point of having professions?
This is just plain stupid. They had so little hairstyle choices in the beginning when they should’ve had a TON more. Then later on, they lock the new hairstyles behind gems. Fantastic choice Anet. I will not be buying a new hairstyle now.
And you would be buying a new hairstyle is it was free? What exactly would you be buying?
AP means nothing if the guy is playing on an alt and is still learning the ropes of the profession/skills and not the dungeon.
AP means something if the guy is playing on one of his mains but doesn’t know the dungeon
AP means everything if the guy is playing on his main AND knows the dungeon extremely well.
Just proof that AP means nothing and that is actually what the person KNOWS
I prefer Hodor.
Hodor Hodoor HODOR!!
Don’t you lecture me on the complexities of war!
There are so many mount threads that I believe it is safe to say, “People want mounts.”
Many argue that mounts are pointless because of all the waypoints and instant travel from anywhere in the game. I also see many complaints about waypoints in WvWvW.
My suggestion: Turn waypoints into GW2 version of WoW gryphon masters.
Pros:
You get to see the beautiful landscape ANet created.
(My Favorite) Adds more strategy to WvWvW because you can’t instant travel.
Lays the groundwork for implementing mounts in the future.
Technically its a mount, you just can’t control it (just be happy you got a mount).
Cons:
No more instant travel from anywhere on map due to predefined travel paths.
It takes time to get from place to place. (Maybe allow this to be skipped in PvE so people don’t miss events)
Thoughts? Suggestions? Discuss.

The one thing I have against this is that it would not allow for me to establish a permanent sense of location. Because names would constantly be changing, I would find myself continuously looking at the World Map in order to find out where I want/need to be.
I see this is a business opprotunity. I want to be a part of multiple guilds. I will represent the highest bidder for a duration of X for X currency.
Simple system that was used by The Matrix Online, If someone wanted to perform a conjoined emote, they would target the character and type the emote. A confirmation box would popup on the other players screen and if accepted and within range, the emote would fire.
At times I wish this was in the game, but I do feel it would add discrimination in the game. That’s just me talking from past experiences in other games.
To counter that, I reckon that a checkbox should be added somewhere (perhaps on the Hero window) that would allow other players to see your gear as long as it’s enabled. Problem solved!
To counter that, I reckon groups would just refuse to take people that don’t have gear inspection enabled.
I would like to see legendary weapons similar to Lord of the Rings Online. We could craft them, name them, and have them level up as we use them, which in turn would increase certain stats on the weapon as it leveled up.
What would really put this over the top would be if we could add existing legendary cosmetic concepts to the weapons, such as changing appearance or other aesthetic additions as they level up (Giving your armor aura’s, character wings, special footsteps, different animations for existing abilities).
Perhaps there could even be a mini achievement tree that allows your weapon to gain titles based off what it has slain and such.
What if you could always trade these weapons so their legacy can live on with another owner?
I think this addition would just blow the minds of those who like to customize.

I’ve updated the topic of this thread to list some problems that I have started occurring since installing Windows 8 and with the Mad King patch. Any solutions would be helpful, and I will try to keep this thread updated and post solutions to the problems as I find them.
1. Loading screen flashes black before loading when switching maps.
2. Screen briefly freezes when resurfacing (Update: Seems to only occur around Ritual Isles in the Diessa Plateau)
3. Sound randomly turned down. (Fixed with client restart)
