Perhaps not on all servers but certainly on my server Orr is getting quieter and quieter. Whilst more people cap it is inevitable that some people will choose not to revisit the area however with it being the top level content and also with it being a very difficult zone to complete without other players participating and helping I think it would be a good thing to try and grow player participation in this area.

My suggestion would be to create an Orr daily on top of the normal daily quest. Spread it across the three zones and have various completion requirements so it can change every day but this would help get people back into the zone and make it a lot more dynamic like it should be.

Problem;

Orr is a real problem at the moment, I am not a new player but a slow leveller. I am only really getting stuck into Orr now and the zone is empty. It is difficult to do even the smallest events, though you can tend to get through these with one or two others if you can find them. The meta’s though, are a write off, on my server (Desolation) on the hours I play I haven’t seen us control Temple of Balth at all in the last month. Temple of Lyssa, once in the last month. Malchors place (forget the name of that temple) once in the last month. Forgotten Shores is pretty much always bugged though when it isn’t, Arah has been in our hands 4 times.

Now I may have missed the majority of times we control it though I doubt it, I tend to play during core hours. It takes the fun out of zones that are supposed to be the climax of the game when you cannot do or see pretty much anything. It’s bad enough now but I can only imagine how much worse it will get for any new players who hit Orr when it is completely deserted.
Suggestion;

Daily Achievements could be changed so that they are level specific. Level 80? Must be completed in a level 80 zone. I recognise the issue that everything in Orr is classed as Risen and so effects part of the achievement but this would simply require classing mobs as race specific. Drakes become Drakes etc etc. This will get players out into Orr again (assuming that they want the daily achieve) and have them taking part in events and making the zone dynamic. I would also add on top of this that one meta must be fully completed, making people tackle events such as the temples and letting new players see things in action.

If this would not work you could add a second daily achievement in on top of the original which is a daily Orr achievement. Kill X amount of mobs, do X,Y and Z events and other such things. Again this would get people into Orr and if it was coupled with upgraded rewards (perhaps even tokens you could use to save up for vanity items or skins as an example) people would want to be there and the zone would be populated again.

The Orr problem, whilst not particularly game breaking, can certianly have long term effects on the game as newer players reaching the end zones will quickly get bored and frustrated if they cannot see all the amazing stuff that goes on in these zones due to depopulation.

In the main though, keep up the good work anet!

I didn’t say gearscore, just the option to inspect one another’s gear. It is merely curiousty from my side and nothing to do with entry, or lack of, into dungeons etc.

I suppose I can see what you mean to an extent that allowing gear inspect may well lead to “full epic only blah blahh” stuff but that’s not whats being asked for.

Great idea, levelling a Charr alt at the moment and most zones are empty or just a few around. You can complete small events but the bigger (and more fun) events are impossible due to population levels.

A Anet response would be great to this.

I don’t want to sound like I’m ranting but how is it possible for Orr to be constantly broken? Straits is always bugged on the southern invasion (Desolation server EU) they always get stuck after the gate and just stand there, it was 3 or 4 days last time until it reset itself.

Cursed Shore for Arah is continually bugged, I have been 80 for around a month and have never once completed this chain because it is bugged the majority of the time. There must be times it isn’t because I occasionally see Arah open but I really can’t spend my whole play time in hope that it might magically unbug.

So a genuine question, how is it possible that they are always bugged? I assume they were fully tested pre-release so what gives? As an addition if it is, for some unknowable reason, impossible to stop them bugging then can there not be some reporting feature for a quick reset?

I love this game, I love Dynamic Events the most and spend the majority of my time in game enjoying the fun these events offer, however when they hardly ever work it does kind of suck the fun from things.

Just little things that I have always liked in other MMO’s.

The ability to “inspect” other players, I always like to see what others are running around in, especially as a casual myself it’s interesting to see some of the better gear available (that I will never get!)

Being able to show your own nameplate above your character. I have always liked to see the name of my own Toon and it would be nice if you could toggle this option on or off.
