Since in DPS-spec you’ll be doing mostly crit dmg, that +12% crit damage equals +12% to overall damage. And that is greater than +5% from strength runes.

Extra crit damage does not work that way. You must consider all sources of crit damage to work out the damage increase (of criticals).

For example, adding +12% crit damage to +85% crit damage results in an increase of ~5.1% critical hit damage, [ 12 / ( 85 + 150 ) ] x 100% = 5.1%.

The +5% from Rune of Strength is bugged and will not work (tested just before posting).

I also was disappointed to learn that Hundred Blades shows its 9-hit cumulative damage over ~3.6 seconds.

A 25/25/0/10/10 build (20/25/0/10/15 is practically the same while offering the Fast Hands trait) offers the highest damage potential.

For equipment you should look to unconditional bonuses to damage multipliers, power, crit damage and precision (in order of importance). This and the cost is why it’s so hard to pass Ruby Orbs, Runes of the Scholar only has the advantage while your health is over 90%.

There are significant gains to be had with sigils and consumables, specifically the +X% damage ones. Using Sigils/Potions of X Slaying where applicable adds an easy +21% damage, having maximum Bloodlust stacks also helps.


As for the maximum possible Hundred Blades damage under unlikely but still realistic conditions;

25/25/0/10/10
+12% Berserkers Power
+10% Slashing Power
+3% without full endurance
+10% Attack of Opportunity (bleeding target)
+18% buffed with all 9 boons
+10% Runes of the Scholar (>90% health)
+10% Sigil of X Slaying
+10% Potion of X Slaying
Bowl of Curry Butternut Squash Soup, +10% Crit Damage
Signet of Might +90 Power
Banner of Strength +170 Power
Banner of Discipline +15% Crit Damage
Max Bloodlust stacks +250 power
25 Might and Vulnerability stacks
Full Berserker gear, Ascended if possible with Mighty Infusions

3810 Power
112% Crit Damage
219.23% total damage multiplier (stacks multiplicatively)

Damage = 5.5 * 1.25 * 2.1923 * (1.5 + 1.12) * 3810 * 1100 / 2600 = 63,653

Doesn’t include bonuses from other players, other than having boons and might/vulnerability. Although unlikely, assume every hit is a critical with a maximum weapon damage roll. Hundred Blades has a skill coefficient of 5.5, target armour of 2600.

If we were to include all manner of gimmicky tricks (there are plenty), this would be close to or exceed 100k damage. However, as Drawing Guy says, it would take far too many stars aligning to reach this, even 63,653 would be once in a lifetime within the current game.
