I’ve had these issues as well, just with Echoes of Ages Past. I get a feeling ANet was doing something in the Shiverpeaks for LS3E3 and it bugged out the rest of the Shiverpeaks.

I’ve also gotten all the currently common issues of invisible ground and crashing on certain story steps. Echoes of Ages Past won’t even load for me. It just crashes the game. I’ve tried it about 5 times. All other places I’ve been have been fine. Although I haven’t tried Dredgehaunt Cliffs yet. Just seems like much of the Shiverpeaks are bugged. Could this be pointing to special things going on in these areas? Might be where we’re going for LS3E3.

Is this game ever going to be in a physical form and on store shelves? At least in Best Buy’s case there’s no record of it being in any of their brick and mortar stores. You can order it online, but I’m not even sure about that since Amazon flat out unlisted the physical version. Can we get any official word as to whether there is going to be a physical copy available?

I have no idea when the FAQ was updated, but it now says this

Q: Will this expansion only be available digitally, or will there be a boxed edition as well?

A: Both. Once Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is available, you’ll be able to buy it digitally or get boxed editions at retail stores.

Looks like the boxed copies aren’t coming until the game actually releases.

I was on my lv 80 Guardian. 7984 AP.
Created a new character. No Traveler title and no HoM achievements, so 7884 AP.

Back on my Guardian I still have 7984 AP. 100 more then my new character, but the correct amount. It’s the newly created one that has no HoM achievements but should have them.

Yeah, just noticed that too. Was too afraid to check everything and didn’t correctly remember my actual AP (I’m on a break right now), so… my bad :b

I also have a discrepancy in AP. My new character has 300 points less than my old characters.

The game randomly crashes when accessing the map or going from one area to another. Even crashed after I created a new character and transitioned to the opening cinematic.

The mouse cursor disappears seemingly randomly when I click. I’ve tried reinstalling mouse drivers and that doesn’t help either. Also tried redownloading the game and that did nothing as well.

I also have the trait issues that people have been reporting. Not on all my characters, but on some.

Also some achievement categories are reset, such as Silverwastes and Drytop.

Mail carriers are missing.

Some finishers are missing. I seem to have the finishers I had before I pre-purchased HOT, but am missing any I had after.

I thought my account wasn’t very affected at first, but now that I look deeper into it, it is an absolute mess.

Do these bugs include the game randomly crashing when accessing the map or going from one area to another? Does it also include the mouse cursor disappearing seemingly randomly when I click? Because those are happening to me.

You can still go into a store and purchase digital with cash. That’s what I did. But I think we all have to give up on physical copies until release. I don’t think physical pre-purchases will exist. At least not in America.

I went to Gamestop two days ago and still nothing. No listing in their system for a Heart of Thorns physical. They did have the digital this time though, so there’s that I guess.

Is there any official word by Anet about physical copies in the USA? Or even anything about brick-and-mokittenigital sales? I definitely would like a response. Even a “we’re looking into it” would be nice.

Is Heart of Thorns going to have a physical release in the USA or not? I still haven’t been able to find physical pre-purchases in the USA. All the Gamestops I’ve gone to say that there is no listing for Heart of Thorns at all in their systems. I can’t even pre-purchase the digital. And Gamestop is the only retailer listed as an “official” reseller. What’s going on Anet? The date for the physical pre-purchases was to have started June 23rd, it is now July 6th.

Pre-purchase itself ends when the game releases.

Why do people keep saying July 31st? The community address only listed that date for refunds. Only two instances of July 31 in the community address.

Still no hard copies listed at Gamestop, the only authorized pre-purchase store in USA. They only have digital listed. Are there going to be hard copy pre-purchases? The date for the boxed editions has passed and yet nothing.

I read that as the day the pre-purchase period ends, since it wouldn’t make much sense to only offer refund halfway thorugh the pre-purchase period and then stop. Might be I’m wrong here, but if you want to pre-purchae one way or another, better safe than sorry, I suppose.
If they’re actually going for an anniversary release date, it makes sense.

But isn’t that only in regards to the refund and not the pre-purchase bonuses?

But where did it say before July 31? I don’t remember seeing that anywhere in the community address. I thought July 31 was just for the refunds.

Only instances of July 31 I see mentioned are these two:

So unless if there was any other information released after the community address that I missed, this is all I know.

Seeing as all pre-purchased versions now get an extra character slot, as long as they are registered before July 31, you will get the slot if you buy from a retail parter. IF that retail partner offers pre-purchase, make sure that’s what you’re buying.

July 31? Why July 31? I thought it was just before the release of HOT. Was a release date announced that I don’t know about?!?

Ah so looks like they finally went up. When I wrote this there was nothing. But I do hope the boxed versions become available soon. I’ve been wanting a box for the xpac.

Now my question is, where are they? No retailer seems to have Heart of Thorns for pre-purchase. And oddly the “official retail partners” went down from three retailers down to one. Yesterday it said Best Buy, Gamestop, and Newegg, but now it’s just Gamestop.

Also will I still be able to get the extra character slot promised to veterans if I buy from a retailer?

Well at least on the Heart of Thorns pre-purchase FAQ it says:
“Starting on June 23, 2015, you’ll be able to pre-purchase boxed and digital editions of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns from our official retail partners.”

So I’m assuming you can pre-purchase through the official retail partners, which includes Best Buy and Gamestop. I was just hoping to use some gift cards I have around and also get the physical box. I like having boxes for my games, also makes it easier to reinstall the game in case my computer goes bonkers and I need to reformat or rebuild.

That’s why I was wondering if I was required to pre-purchase through Anet to get the bonuses and such.

Or should I just send a message to support to ask this?

First of all, thank you for listening and giving us a character slot. As a veteran player this was the one thing I was waiting for before I bought Heart of Thorns. While I wish the expansion was $40 (have to save as much money as I can right?) I was willing to pay anything within the $30 to $50 range. Now I do wish I could still get the character slot without pre-purchasing, but I’ll take this deal. I just feel a bit bad for my friends who may not pre-purchase. Hopefully I can try to convince them to pre-purchase.

Now to my main concern. A lot of the wording in the community address is vague to whether the expansion must be purchased from the Guild Wars 2 store or not to get these benefits. I have been wanting to purchase Heart of Thorns from a third-party vendor like Amazon or Best Buy so I could get a physical box. My question is, will I be able to order from them and still get the pre-purchase benefits and a character slot?

Darn that’s a shame. Hopefully it does. I think I might hold off on pre-ordering for now then.

I bought GW2 back at launch and have read that beta participators got their accounts upgraded to the Heroic Edition due to some SKU issues. If I buy HOT does that mean I get upgraded too?

Some people have found that visiting, or re-visiting the Chantry of Secrets gave them the missing area needed for World Completion.

Is world completion broken? I finally finished all my WvW completion and was ready to celebrate because that was all I had left when suddenly I don’t have world completion. The game tells me I have one point of interest left, but when I check my map and load into all the maps I’m told I have every single point. And when I log out of the game the character select screen tells me I have world completion done. Is there some sort of hidden POI I don’t know about? Or is something wrong with the game/my account?

Well it crashed again. Here’s the crash log.

Sorry I thought I mentioned OS. I’m running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.

Also I ran a chkdisk on my drive and a RAM check as well. Both seem to be healthy. I haven’t run the game since I did those two so I can’t say if it fixed anything, but if it crashes again I’ll upload the crash log.

After taking a look at the error logs it seems the file that causes the problems is MainCli.cpp. Does anyone else experience this or am I alone in this issue?

I have no idea what is going on with my game. It does not freeze. It does not hang. It hardly ever lags. My game, however, does like the spontaneously crash on me. I would be playing and the game just closes on me and I get an error message.

This issue most frequently it occurs when I am loading into an area, but does also occur when I’m just running around in the field. I have to perform the verification almost daily because my game crashes so often. Sometimes the game crashes after many hours of play. Sometimes it crashes after a few minutes of play. One time it crashed the moment I started up the game.

My hardware is as follows:

• Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
• 8 GB RAM

None of my other games have this issue. I may get a crash now and again, but it is nowhere near as frequent as Guild Wars 2.
A few examples of my other graphically intensive games:

• Battlefield 3
• Sleeping Dogs
• Skyrim

I have attempted the following fixes from reading other threads:

• Lower graphics settings (I’ve gone as far as everything on low)
• Update drivers (I currently have the most recent drivers)
• Playing for shorter periods of time

So any thoughts as to what is my problem?
