How this is, or will be working out in WvW? God knows… xD Prepare for the next wave of frustrated players. WvW’ers it will be this time, like many other times before. And I bet they’ll be just as much ignored as we are right now.
I think they said they will never make WvW cross servers and that it will stay like it is now.
So far I see the following options:
1. take the cities out of the megaserver system (megaserver might be nice for some parts of pve and middle of the night world bosses but doesn’t seem great for cities)
2. make it sort people based on server.
As a non RPer I don’t like this any more than you RPers. RP servers should stick to themselves and non RP the same. This makes it better for both. RPers don’t have their immersion screwed and don’t get trolled and non RPers don’t have chat spammed or w.e else annoys them. I would very much like to get back to seeing the people I’m used to seeing and keeping my chat clean when I’m semi-afking talking on gchat.
That’s why I’m requesting it as an OPTION, like it already is in the dev client. You DONT have to use the feature if you don’t want to. Call me spoiled, but I played too much GW1 to not want that feature back.
GW2 isn’t being marketed as an ‘action’ MMO, you’re thinking of other MMOs. Sure, GW2 has action-esque elements like active dodging and blocking, but it’s not purely an action MMO.
Even if it’s just an option it ruins the idea of why it’s not in the game.
If you character automatically tracks whome you are fighting, it takes out the element of skillful use of good positioning and it actually would be superior for whome you are fighting to use this option as well.
The non-existence of target tracking is not what defines an action-mmo, the existence of target tracking however is what defines a poorly made gear dependant mmo.
I personally and many of my friends, despise tracking functions of this kind and it’s the main reason why I never liked any other mmo’s than GW2 and WoW, since in these 2 games I can actively use the enviroment and positioning to strike from behind to solve gear differences, without anyone automatically following me without effort.
If it was to be added, it could be added to PvE, where positioning isn’t competive, and which already is dumbed down enough that it wouldn’t make any difference.
Or simply like in WoW preventing you from casting spells when something is out of range, out of LoS or behind you.
I agree with everything Ghostwolf said. Auto track will destroy PvP. The whole point is the way you move, how you use terrain and how you plan your abilities. The only thing auto track will do is limit skill greatly. In PvE however, I don’t care if they add it shrug. And if we’re on the topic, if it was up to me I would take out auto turn as well. It’s a bad feature too (obviously not nearly as bad as auto track).
And exactly like Ghostwolf, I could only play WoW and GW2 since most MMO’s have a crap system and your skill is irrelevant. Why would I want to auto move to my target? Or have it auto move to me? Are you going to suggest they introduce potion spam too? And maybe make it gear based?
You can always go play gw1, l2 or any other mmo with a crappy no-skill system.
OK update: did it again, keeping baubles low and I managed to get it for both zone 1 and 2. So got it the 4th time in zone 1 and 2nd in zone 2… Wasted time is wasted….Well at least I got em now.
This is just ridiculous. I’ve done world 2 zone 1 three times and I didn’t get the baubles achievement. Then I did zone 2 and I got all except the bauble achievement. I wrote a ticket and all I got was “please wait bla bla”. I followed the dulfy guide and I am sure I took all (and many people got the achivs following the guide). I want the title and this whole thing ends in less than a week. Also I don’t really feel like it’s fair for me to do it again…
I found a way to go around the bugged ancient shark skill point. Usually one or 2 sharks are stuck in the rocks above the cave. If you go out of the cave and right above it (on the rocks that are in the screens) and move around you should be able to see their names and then target (did it by pressing a skill). Most spells can’t touch them but there are some that can (like elementalist underwater boil thingy). If you manage to dmg them they should come over the rocks (see the screens).
