As much as it’s seems logical to rewards scouts, you will never come up with a system that will account an actual scouting function.
Any system like that will always be susceptible for abuse.
I can already ensure you that standing in a tower will never be rewarding compared to fighting . Perhaps anet will come up with a cool scouting mode , but then again who will account for actual scouting ?
I think the root of the problem resides in the foundation of each server. Take a look at high tier servers, they all have a community of sorts, and each community varies by having different people and different coverage.
All these factors , translate into ranking and you can see that.
Now if you actually want to make people to move to lower tiers for wvw purposes , you want to those tiers to have communities as well. Thus encouraging people to gain power as a unit.
Problem we face : How do you “force” a community on a server that doesn’t have the people or the initiative for that. Well , I think Anet should implement more tools that encourage “server pride” , " server communication " , "server websites " . ( tools that are already in possession of all high tiers )
Having those tools, will eventually grow a strong community of wvw players across each server, and by that encourage them to participate more in wvw and having there rank go up.
There ranks go up, people think they are worth a shot.
My thought on this.
On behalf of the SFR community I wish both servers a good match up, non-flame and a lot of challenge.
We don’t take this match up lightly and hope everyone contributes their max power.

Hello everyone,
I want to thank up to now to Vizunah and Piken. As it may seem, this match up, may look bad for us, but it doesn’t mean that we are giving up now, or in the future. We will show our strength and we will show our spirit.
I want to make sure that both servers know that we have a lot of respect to you, and as much as it seems, we can’t control everyone .
I urge people from the community to avoid posting hatred posts , e.g. posts that are negative and contain flames and accusations.
There are many factors for the reason we are not at our best, but overall, it’s the best matchup EVER. It’s a match up that we can’t slack and can’t tick high, it’s a match up that requires us to micro manage , to move troops and hold keeps, to strive for a better fight and win for glory .

We don’t really know what’s going on here with this bashing against each other. I think all the guilds here should respect each other.
Everyone blobs, sometimes a guild has bigger numbers , sometimes less, sometimes it’s an even fight.
We take the fights with GD seriously, and look forward to encounter you. And even if we get wiped everytime , we still enjoy and try to learn from our mistakes.
I want to note that KoA has gone through some major changes in it’s roster. It’s also an international guild now.
We respect all your guilds out there, regardless of the numbers you drop on a border.

I want to thank both kodash and vizunah for the match-up. KoA had so much fun with you guys. I’m not trolling or joking.
Even if you were blobing (for us more then 40 ) , you were a challenge and we enjoyed dying and winning.
I want to thank for the guilds that we encounter both on kodash side ( EoW, BAN..) and those on vizunah.
For those who suspect that we run 5000 mega blob, we don’t. We run between 20-28 per raid , sometimes even less.

Alternative, promote transfer to lower tiers by giving out free boosting in XP, WXP and karma and gold..

I am part of a WvW core guild in SFR. The future competition that you are going to introduce will impact our WvW arena so bad that it might tear apart the WvW community we built there.
Months upon months of working towards perfection will go to waste due to massive transfers because of a reward .
First server rewards you say. Well people aren’t dumb, they will transfer before the season starts. that’s kind of obvious I would say.
Unless you lock transfers now, lower tiers will be practically empty and higher tiers will be full to such immense that server queues may lunch to up 2-3 hours .
To strengthen what was said above me, I will give out my point of view as a wvw guild leader .
When ever I drop my members on a border,sometimes together with another guild, we tick 20-25. Very stable and balance zerg, not need to go into numbers.
When we see a 50+ zerg infront of us, we don’t exactly enjoy interacting not only because of the numbers they have, but also because of the skill lag they drop. You can only press "1"regardless of the bags we eventually get.
We support zerg roaming between 25-35 and not more. More is seen as blobbing, and in this meta , which my guild try to change, the quantity still overpowers tactics when you have 50 people covering all your routes.
So Anet, Please start implementing incentives for smaller groups like 25 ppl rather than 50.

To be honest, I did notice a decrease in Blobbing lately, although kodash today proved to blob again, yet we owned them.
I will give you my honest opinion, lets all stop accusing “blob” on each other and accept that sometimes it is done . I want to point out a good point towards us: Today we noticed that we started blobbing , so we split to 2 groups instead of going full zombie. So in the end , we got more objectives and more lootbags.

Funniest thing: BB accusing us of blobbing ( not that I deny, we do blob sometimes ) , and in this morning they force 40+ garrison.
also, BB you got a bunch of cheaters in your server. they took one of our spawn towers, no mesmer was in the tower and nor in that group, gate was full. we took screenshots and we are reporting.
Just for the record, I think viz learned to the end a bit about smaller scaled groups. Last night they finally learn to split. They had Hup and Raid on sfr, and they didn’t just blob it.
As usual I end my raid with 40 + bags a.k.a viz.

But for the record, you put a good siege in hills. quite hard to take, although I’m pretty sure it had to do with 1000 arrowcarts inside even thou we were scaled in same numbers.

I think we can all agree on one thing for sure: WvW in the current build, isn’t profitable.
You can either be a commander or a follower, but compared to PvE you will never make the same amount of gold per same amount of time. And this is the problem.
I just find it radically funny that Anet haven’t addressed this issue from the beginning. As most of you see it, WvW is sort of the Endgame, so how come I always need to do dungeons to make up for the constant losses.
How can it be so hard to tweak a few things up, focus on WvW and leave PvE for a week??
Have they acknowledged the crashing ? Is there a post somewhere?
Why accept such a disastrous state? why do we have to be bound to existing guilds ?

You have a good point there – guild takes time- I suppose making guild missions available from the start is not the best solution, but I am sure people here can come up with creative ideas.
I think you haven’t understood me well. When I refer to a small guild, I don’t mean like a friends guild or something, I mean guild that just got opened.
Fact is , it’s hard to gain influence due to lack of player wanting to join.

I want to open this topic with a pressing issue in the guild status: Guild missions cause guild imbalance – meaning – large guilds with guild missions are more exotic than small guilds, and it makes it hard for new guild, particularly ones that are small to develop properly . Due to that , more people prefer to go to bigger guilds and enjoy the guild missions , while the small ones suffer lack of recruiting.
My solution is to enable guild missions with less needed required developing.
I would also like to see other people’s input in this issue and perhaps one of the gw2 crew.
**just to clarify : I don’t mean it to say that guild missions are super hard to get, but while it takes time, people prefer joining bigger ones that already unlocked them.

False. Warriors aren’t weak. Fact is people keeping addressing them as weak because they require something called play-style. And if you don’t have that, you’re obviously just trolling with warrior .
To use the maximum potential in a warrior, it’s not enough to know that Greatsword and axe-shield is the best combo, or that taking bull and endure pain are best skills, it is also essential to know what traits you use and what is your build focus on.
The most casual builds you ever meet would be either zerker gear or knight gear. This is something I have noticed .
Saying warrior is a weak class without actually proving it against so many videos showing warriors own- is just wrong.
In other words ,what I am trying to convey is that before coming and open another “Warriors suck” topic, try learn more about the class and it’s potential . read guides, test out build and enjoy .
I ran full knight armor once, and I wasn’t satisfied to be honest. I expected higher survivability or at least good damage. As someone said, it’s primary toughness , but seems like when you encounter so many foes, you start to feel that toughness doesn’t play it’s role .
I recommend zerk gear. yes, most of you will say glass cannon and such..But the idea behind it : kill before you get killed.
The high damage amount allows you to finish your foe quickly and leaving you with enough hp to take another one. Moreover, with good traits in defense you can actually feel tanky also.
High damage and high armor , the kit is awesome. Warrior requires a bit of practice.
I wouldn’t recommend it for people that are looking for a really fast kill, because it’s hard to get.
As a warrior, it’s mainly about play style. You need to pick matching weapons, have a good armor and a fit rune. stack might or any other major feature.
All about game style in the end.
Last boss. If you get him to the rocks , and all party are below them, then his stuck there , and doesn’t stalk in ghost mode.
It can be activated by sending 1 member to attack him near the rocks, and then jump down.
