The skill lag in WvW is just out of control, so thought I’d post here about it a bit.

Absolutely game crippling skill lag. Skill will not go off no matter how many times I mash the keyboard. In addition, moving a character becomes a chore because the server does not seem to recognize my movements right away.

Also, I can be right on top of someone, or another npc type mob and be swinging 1 to death and none of the hits will register. Some times I get an “out of range”, or other times it just doesn’t register at all and does 0 damage.

I.E. when I face this, it’s pretty much impossible to play a thief.

• Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?

Not a single time. If I’m experiencing skill lag, EVERYONE in the map experiences it. Almost never any exceptions.

• Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?

Same as above

• Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
  • For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg.
  • If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

Usually when there’s a 3-way kitten fest anywhere on the map, or if there’s orange swords of ANY kind even remotely near Stonemist Castle. Eternal Battlegrounds seems to be the worst as far as lag goes, and it’s almost always centered around Stonemist.

I’d say zerg size on tier 1 servers is probably anywhere from 40-50+ on each side, so can have at least like 150 players in a 3-way fight at any given time. When this happens, the game is pretty much unplayable.

Even if you are nowhere near the fighting, the entire map suffers massive skill lag. Honestly it’s out of control still.

This issue has been happening on NA servers too btw. I see a lot of people saying they were having problems with EU servers.

Skill and server lag so bad it’s impossible to play at times. Have been having a lot of game crashes lately. Only happens with GW2 and nothing else.

Expanding our horizons now to include daily dungeon runs and sPvP content. We are now stepping down from mandatory WvW daily to guild WvW 3 nights a week. Of course we’ll group up together in WvW every night to have fun, but guild raids are no longer going to be every night so if people want to roam they can roam.

What type of play are you looking for? Smaller roaming operations, or bigger zerg type?

I’m on Tarnished Coast (T2) and we’re looking for more people. Currently we do a lot of roaming and havoc, but are building our way up to get back to zerg busting. If you’re interested or want to know any more, feel free to shoot me a mail or whisper in game.

They are a pretty cool bunch of people. Laid back and PvE focused. Some of them do WvW as well. What game play are you looking for? PvE? sPvP? WvW? I’m the guild leader of a WvW guild on Tarnished Coast and we’re on pretty late in to the night. We’re usually running around from ~6 p.m. est until 2 a.m est. On reset nights we can go until even later. We do dungeons and stuff occasionally, but generally we’re mostly in WvW.

Hello folks. [Pro] is a recent transfer from Isle of Janthir looking to re-establish ourself here on Tarnished Coast. Right now we’re on the smaller side, but we are currently recruiting again and looking to get back to our former glory that we had on IoJ.

We’re a primarily WvW focused guild specializing in zerg busting, open field combat, and deception tactics. Our primary goal in WvW is defense and supporting the main zerg. Our main active time is generally around 6 p.m. est to 2 a.m. est. You can generally find us in EBG, as that is our preferred map. We do hop to BLs occasionally.

We have recently expanded our horizons to include Dungeons and sPvP. We would like to get an sPvP team formed, as well as a GvG team.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for experienced and mature players. We would like players who have a minimum of one level 80 that is geared out in at least exotics, and have spent at least some time in WvW (if joining for WvW) or have general knowledge of how to play your character for sPvP and Dungeons. We are recruiting all classes, and having multiple alts is a bonus.

What we offer:

We run together as a guild in WvW and provide a stable and steady environment. This means when we are on, we run together and make sure everyone feels welcomed and an important part of what we are doing. We generally have the same group of people daily so we really know each other. We do training in WvW and sPvP via custom arena to help enhance our skills and better familiarize ourselves not only with the classes we are playing, but how to use them more effectively in a group setting. We practice different tactics and overall just try to work on synergy so we’re an effective unit.

Also in addition to WvW, we are doing more dungeons runs (starting daily now) as well as sPvP. We still work on some PvE and living story content. Once we get built back up we’ll run guild missions again on the regular.

Basic expectations/guidelines:

1. We expect a majority rep (like 90% or more). After all why be in a guild if you’re never actually IN the guild? We also understand people have friends in other guilds and may run stuff with them from time to time. However if you’re in WvW, you MUST rep us 100%.

2. We do organized WvW raids 3 nights a week and would like everyone to run together. Again, why be in a guild if you’re not WITH the guild either? There may be exceptions to this, but generally we try to stick together. The rest of the nights it’s encouraged to run together in WvW, but not mandatory.

3. Be courteous and respectful not only to your fellow guild members and server mates, but also your opponents. We are not a troll guild, and malicious behavior will not be tolerated.

4. Following the last one, no exploiting or “hacking”. If anyone is observed doing this, it will be an immediate guild kick for first offense no questions asked. You will also be reported to ArenaNet. Sounds harsh, but we’re a firm believer of playing fair.

5. Voip is mandatory. Right now we’re currently using the Tarnished Coast community mumble. Even if you don’t have a mic, we still need you on to at least listen.

Basically we try to keep things fun and simple. Use common sense, and just be mature.

Once again we are currently in the rebuilding phase, but would absolutely love to get back to our zerg busting form in WvW and certainly hope to garner some interest there. We also are now doing daily dungeon runs (including fractals) and sPvP. Please definitely contact one of us if interested in some open field zerg busting action or just want a consistent dungeon group by trying to find one of us online, or send an in game mail. I was commanding for IoJ in EBG tonight from reset until about 2:30 a.m. est (about 6 and a half hours). We did REALLY well tonight in EBG and wanted to give props to everyone. Had some really fun fights and defended our corner hard tonight. Flipped/defended SM several times, flipped Yak’s keep twice, took towers, all the while not losing a SINGLE tower all night. We only lost camps a couple times too.

About us:

Currently we are a small guild changing over our roster from inactive players and rebuilding up our membership. We are mostly a PvX guild, starting to shift over to primarily WvW with a focus on zerg busting and deception tactics. We don’t want other servers to see us coming, we just want them to go “oh ****” when we are there. We are a mature guild and like to have fun with each other, but also accomplish things together.

Guild rules:

1. While in WvW, 100% rep and must run with the guild while we are doing guild WvW events unless given specific tasks that require you to do other things (i.e. scouting, yak sitting, or waypoint denial).

2. Must use Teamspeak, at least while in WvW. If you don’t have a mic, you can still be in it to listen. No Teamspeak means no running with us, which means we aren’t a fit for you. Communication is super important.

3. Friday night WvW reset attendance is mandatory. If you are in the game and not with us in WvW, then we are not a fit for you.

4. You must be active. We are not a super casual guild, so if you’re only on for an hour once a week, we are not a fit for you.

Expectations from our players:

1. Guild repping – I understand people have friends in other guilds, but we are looking to build a full time guild and are not looking for part time members. While I don’t realistically expect everyone to rep 100% of the time (still have other friends or specialty guilds people visit from time to time), I would like our members to rep the majority of the time (at least 90%-95%). After all, why be in a guild if you’re not going to be IN the guild?

2. Player experience – We are currently only looking for experienced players in both PvE and WvW. That doesn’t mean you have to know everything about the game, but it does mean that if you just started a week ago, there are other guilds that are better suited for you. You need to have at least 1 level 80 character that is geared up with exotics and have spent at least some time in WvW. While we are willing to teach and build, we don’t want to start from the very beginning.

3. Behavior and representation – We are a mature guild, and thus want mature players. No trolling around (with the intent to harm or damage reputation, joking around is of course acceptable), insulting others, or otherwise doing anything of the like that reflects negatively on the guild. Basically be an adult, and use common sense.

4. No one left behind. We are a guild, which means we should have each others’ backs. No abandoning your mates.

5. You must be alert and ready, and have the ability to take and give directions, and follow them.

What we are offering/would like to accomplish:

We want to be a primary WvW guild, while still offering guild missions, dungeon runs, and help with general PvE stuff like Living Story achievements. But primarily, we want to be a solid community and develop as a full time guild. We do not want members who are only there for 1 specific thing like WvW, and do not rep us outside of that.

Once we rebuild up our player base, we will have training sessions and get organized and used to each others’ play styles. Being a primary WvW guild, as I said we want to focus on zerg busting and deception tactics, which includes things like bait and switch, countering, misleading, and giving the other server misinformation to help us gain the upper hand and ultimately victory. To put in simple terms, we find the other server and smash them.
