Aside from the choppy mic and what seemed like choppy gameplay (on the VoD), great job DPS! Appreciate it.
For a bit of a back story in regard to this, we were testing things all day long to make sure it was working correctly but less than 2 hours before went live the box that was doing the actual encoding died. As in wouldn’t even post kind of dead. So we had to dissect another machine for parts to fix it and we didn’t get it operational again until right before we went live. Then all of a sudden we were having the issues you described.
We will definitely make sure all these issues are ironed out for future events. =) This even was great for us to identify kinks.

Though I thought they somehow implemented LAN support and this was an announcement for it, that would have been amazing! Still, super excited to see GW2 played at the highest tier.

I would pay money for a Custom Arena API, in particular the ability to retrieve live updates on the status of a match. I’m guessing there’s been no official word regarding this? I can’t put into words how amazing and useful this would be for the sPvP community, it would empower us to do a lot of the legwork ourselves.

It has been a blast the past two weekends and we cannot wait to help make GW2 tournaments the standard to live by!

It was more a lesson learned, the last minute roster changing caused lots of headaches last weekend. A 24 hour lockout will actually make the day go much smoother.

Plus tournaments is what LoL is all about, that’s how they make money, which is why they put all of their money into their tournaments.
Riot has stated multiple times that they lose money on Esports.
Actually they do, it’s no different then the money they invest in advertising. There’s no direct return on investment in advertising, yet companies all around the world drop huge portions of their budget on it. And hosting million dollar tournaments is fantastic advertising.
They also recently signed a sponsorship deal with Coke, so they certainly will be reaping in profits from the tournaments themselves now.
That’s fine and dandy if you want to make rock solid rules and all but bring back the / resign function. If I wanted to watch lopsided matches I would of just kept queuing for soloq
Agreed, teams can certainly forfeit in chat and the admins will /gameend, something that should be made more clear in the rules.

It would have been even worse to restart the match. Once something is in the rules you need to follow it to the letter for everyone. You can live and learn and adjust from there for following tournaments, but the day of the tournament you have to play with what is dealt.
As for teams DDOSing to take an advantage, on the other hand if we just restart it a team with a bad start could simply have 2-3 of their players disconnect. You can take advantage of any system.
As already stated the only real solution to this problem is a pause feature for the admins, but currently that does not exist.

I know it’s already been said twice but just to drive the point home.
These start times are strict. A 5 minute grace period will be given before the game is started regardless of if the team is present or not.
All of the TOs are being told to start the match the second the clock ticks to 5 minutes passed, regardless of who’s in the room or who’s on the way. If you’re missing members you can choose to forfeit or play on at that point, your choice.
Once you’ve finished your Round 1 match for your pool you will be told where to go next. We just request you show up to your scheduled room at your scheduled time for the start of your pool.

Ever heard of shouts + soldier-runes and Warhorn + Quick breathing?
And burst simply isn’t the War’s role anymore – it’s now Support and CC, which is actually quite fun to do and the War is godlike at it.
But as the game stands, why would to take that on a 5 man team in a Conquest map? I’d personally rather have someone who could easily break off and stand a chance in a 1v1.
I agree with your earlier comments however, once custom arenas are out I think new life will be breathed into the Warrior class.

I would just like to say I wholeheartedly agree with PowerBottom, Warriors have massive support potential, but the Conquest play style doesn’t allow for such things on 5 man teams.

I finally gave up on Warrior last night (been playing it exclusively since release) and everyone in my regular play group went up ~20% on their leaderboard rankings in 1 play session. Now that I’ve seen the light, until they get a worthwhile buff, I don’t think I’m gonna be going back.

You can’t police a DC, they should leave it the way it is. How would they tell the difference between a real DC and someone pulling an Ethernet cable?

Devs have mentioned plans of doing exactly what you’re talking about in an attempt to get more PvE minded people to try PvP. They’ve already made it possible for you to acquire Laurels in PvP for example.
But the dedicated PvPers have a lot of things they would like addressed before such things take place. Even features that were advertised before the games launch aren’t it yet. =\
Hopefully they one day do this, but I personally hope they address the issues that are preventing this great game from becoming a truly competitive experience first.

I was in a game last night where we were within 30 points of winning and I was running the orb when the enemy team managed to down me just a few feet away from the point. Seeing how we were so close to victory I started screaming into my mic “FORGET ME! JUST GRAB THE ORB!!!” A simple pic up and dodge roll into the point would have gotten us the win. So both of my nearby teammates started trying to pick up the orb but couldn’t…. Since my body was right on top of the orb the only option they had was to heal me, no matter how they positioned themselves they could never pick up the orb.
This feels like something that wasn’t intended but I guess I could be wrong. Is it set up like this to reward the enemy team for getting the kill? Forcing you to rez your runner before you’re allowed to pick up… Seems like a strange feature to me so I figured I’d bring it up here.

So explain me those obscure mechanics you know…it would be really appreciated, because you know hydromancy works great in paids even vs 3 expec thieves, wars and dps eles
2 sigils of the same “type” cannot proc at the same time. Both of the sigils you listed are of the “Weapon Swap” type, and therefore only one will proc and they share the same cooldown.
Really? I was unaware of this… can you cite a source for this info? I’ve been running double weapon-swaps and I’d have sworn that they’re both proccing, but I never paid specific attention to it.
I did not read this anywhere, this was something I’ve gathered through testing various sigil load outs on golems in the mists. Feel free to test it out yourself, I’m fairly certain this is the way it works.

Dunno…but shield with hydromancy and hammer/staff (If foefire) with energy seem to work fine…btw i didn’t look for cd but they both work (trigger) as intended on each swap
Aaah, they’re on different weapon sets. That wasn’t the vibe we got from your original post. It sounded like you had Energy on main hand weapon and Hydro on off hand weapon. In that case they wouldn’t proc at the same time. I believe the internal cooldown is 10 seconds, so swapping back and forth should always work unless you’re a Warrior with 15 in Discipline.
