Splitting skills eventually leads to bad game design.
If you start splitting them, you’ll in a worst case scenario effectively double the skills you have to maintain and balance in their respective area. If you however tailor PvE content to be similar to PvP (in that mobs dodge like players, use the same conditions and lots of similar skills), it not only reduces managing the skillset you have to design, balance and maintain to only one, but it also creates a more linear learning curve, in that PvE experience to some degree carries into PvP and the other way around, because your skills are the same and the enemies are the same – at least to some degree.
So essentially making PvP and PvE alike has so many advantages over differentiating between those two and creating different mechanics (leading to completely different metagames) for each.
even just slightly altering the skills in term of Cooldown, Duration, etc ? It works fine in GW1 though ( from my own personal knowledge, so it can be wrong )

edit : what about adding Might for 1 or 2 sec for every bounce? Guardian GS did it and i don’t see why bouncing axe shouldn’t

WvW and PvE are tied together, they are both for the same character. Splitting skills apart would take away from having a character in a game world. I want to go in there and know that my character works. I don’t want to change skills and gear sets all the time.
If they want to change things for the arena then I don’t think anyone should have a problem with that.
I didn’t meant splitting it equals to changing the skill entirely, what i mean is changing it subtley just like GW1, CD change, Buff Durations, etc etc. That sorts of things.
And yea most of the “l2play” comment is from the sPvP area
I know its a good idea but i need the input of the peoples that think why splitting skills is a bad idea, when i ask the question on the class subforum all i get is “l2play, nubs, etc etc”
I absolutely have no idea why people are against splitting skills to pve – pvp. Can anyone fill me in why splitting skills is a bad idea? I think its a great idea imo, you can nerf/buff 1 side without ruining the other.
The infamous “Left Behind” bug, while you can’t be teleported and can farm the chest you can’t finish the JP at all if you have this bug.
For me i would love it if the damage is slightly buffed and Whirling Defense actually hit everything around it or at least 5 target instead of 3. Diving in with Ungent + Flame Traps + WD is my fav combo you see

Its a known bug, i get to the top around 25 times and fail the jump each time. Keep getting teleported to the starting area. Then i restart the comp, and try the CT again and done it in 1 try. People said restarting client/comp helps, go and try it and see if it solve the problem for you
have same problem, wait 5 min while following MK around and hearing his jokes shudder and relog the entire client. It got counted then.

did you try to relog/move to a different map? it works for me
Update: Made a Male Human yesterday, and do the CT puzzle perfectly in 1 try, got the end and just jump like usual and got in the hole. Change character right after to my Female Norn and got to the top in 1 try, jump like usual, hit the clock tower hole and fail to get in.
Something is definitely wrong here

even the stacking sigil?
Now i know that Weapon Damage doesn’t increase the Kits damage whatsoever so my question is is the Stats on the weapon affect the damage on the Kits at all? And how about the Stats from armor/runes/trinkets/Traits?
I know this sound noobish but this is my first shot at being an engineer in like 500 hours of gameplay and i want every inch of information about the class

It’s still strange I think. I couldn’t do it with any of my characters. Maybe it’s my keyboard.
Nah, i have that problem too. I made it to the end about 12 times now but not once have i been able to jump to the Clock Hole. Always crashing into the clock ( yes, crashing) and falling down to the acid pool.
Im using a Female Norn for all of my CT runs.
How long does the Event/Doors resets? I want to do the event as it is a good levelling place.
But they do have penalty, i read a dev said the penalty for jumping Server is no Bonuses for the remainder of the match + the next 2 week? i kinda forgot the exact details.
Sooo, this is my latest attempt at CT and i got teleported outside of the Jumping Puzzle, while funny this shows that the CT Jumping Puzzle has teleportation bugs in them
Yes that what happen to me, but in my case i ask the person that was in the lead with me did he saw me fall or got grabbed by the hands and most of the time they said no and i just vanished into the air
Seriously though, im a completionist and have done most if not all Jumping Puzzle in the game, with 4 more days until Halloween is over i don’t’ see my self getting that Achievement for Clocktower this year. Feels really awful knowing you managed to get to the end but blocked by a bug instead
This is frustrating, i’ve made it to the end 10 times now and never had much success jumping into the hole. Always fall and got tele’d back to the start.
The second bug is a known bug. I heard that it can be fixed by relogging.
If its a known bug, i not doing this JP until i know for sure it’ll fixed. There’s no way to tell unless you fail the jump basically and with the random teleportation bug i doubt it’ll be easy.
I have in numerous occasions got teleported to the start of the instance for no reason, most frequently happen when i run across a flat surface without any “acid” in sight.
The other is that i have reached the end of the Clocktower JP numerous time but i never had succeeded in jumping to the Clocktower Hole.
Im using a female Norn if that matters at all.
i got the same problem on my Norn, i got to the end 5 times and never has been im successful at jumping to the hole. Get ported to the start every time.
Is the collision for acid a little bit messed up? I frequently got teleported out from the CT without any reason. Like i was standing on the waiting platform or even just jumping in mid air, i can even see the acid pooling way below me so it clearly not touching me. Does anyone having this problem? I used a Norn btw

I was satisfied with the Scavenger Hunt and all but is that really all there is to ACT 1? Or is there something more somewhere? I hate to miss some of the event because I thought the Scavenger Hunt is all there is to ACT 1.
I have a problem, i want to make the Recipe for Box Berserker Draconic armor. I’ve been following the wiki for the mats. 1 Draconian Chestpiece, 20 Crystal, 5 Wine, and 50 Coins. But the forge doesn’t want to accept the items, what am i doing wrong? Or is the Recipe its self has been disabled?
