I would agree that 12s is enough to ambush, but if you move (to escape) then you are revealed. A thief would be easily killed with the medium armor class if they stayed in one spot for long. I think with the armor level, stealth while moving would be better balance and give the game (PvX and WvW) a scout class.
So I started building a Thief for the purpose of being a really good scout. The perma stealth build of SS and CS seemed to be a very nice maneuver. Here are the things I noticed:
You had to stop and run these skill chains occasionally to keep it going
You could not attack or it would break stealth
There were some other actions you could not do without stealth
If you were close enough to someone doing a melee attach or in an AoE damage area it would break stealth
It would seem to me that if stealth broke on all action, or at least added a rez/action bar then all you have is a scout, and a perma stealth thief would not be OP. I mean, if you are any other class and you break a stealth thief’s stealth, then you can and likely would kill that thief.
Devs: any chance on bringing back perma stealth/stealth stacking above 5 or adding an ability to stealth for longer periods?

Seeing the replies in this thread about people receiving their items back in the in-game mail, the reply he received above seems unfair. What can we do to make sure he gets his items back? The whole reason we purchased the digital deluxe upgrade was for these items. We would like to have what we paid for.
I would recommend that he just stays patient. I submitted a ticket back on the 25th, then they closed it and I submitted another one on the 2nd. I have yet to recieve a response that they won’t nor the items. I’m sure support is trying to get through all the requests. Once a DM responds to this thread that it is fixed and he hasn’t recieved anything, then I would follow up with a ticket.
Same here. I created my first toon at 9:01 PDT on the 25th. I had everything except my HoM summon stone for GW1 stuff. I was told to delete my toon and recreate. I did and the HoM stone was there, but not my Book, Chalice, or Mini. I haven’t made it to 30 yet, so I’m not sure about Mist summon. I have the Hero Band and Golem on all accounts created. I put in a ticket on the 25th, got the same reply (check the forums when they open). Forums are finally open, and my original ticket was closed. Reopened the ticket and still waiting on a response. Should be easy enough to have a DM send the items to anyone with a ticket, but I know they have hacked accounts and locked out players to deal with. Just missing my stuff :-(
