Thank you so much for your considered advice, and encouragement.
I read somewhere that if you don’t eliminate the portals on the bridge level below, they can pull you down when a platform disappears, before you can jump. Is that possible?
I’ve read that if one player stands on one side and aggros the boss, the others won’t be targeted. Then that one player can just run around. Possible?
Is the targeting random or does the boss target whomever is furthest away, or the one that hits the hardest?
My team – Ranger, Elementalist (or Guardian), Warrior x2, Mesner handles every part of every fractal but is having a very hard time with the last boss in the Thaumanova Reactor Fractal. We free the researchers for the buff, know to move when the platform hexes turn purple, stay away from each other, etc. I read about strategies such as having one person run around on the far side from everybody else, or everybody melees and anyone targeted runs to the outer ring.
Is there some strategy that would make this easier? Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
I’m a pretty good player – AP of 7k, level 80, mostly ascended gear, completed most dungeons a few times.
I joined a new guild. Breezed through HotW with guildmates – no issues. I didn’t bother with TS. Hardly anything in chat.
Our guild leader practically begged for members to do AC Path 2. I joined, used TS.
The dungeon run was a constant stream of profanity. I’m no prude, but is saying the f-word a thousand times helpful? Is there such a thing as too much advice? Ton of humiliation. A new standard for rage.
The final straw was being accused of not hitting the mob he had targeted (I’m sure I did). Then they kicked me at the last boss, so I quit the guild.
Bottom line is the game in my opinion is fine. There are sometimes mismatches in personalities, which can’t be fixed, even with perfect communication. No matter how thin you slice the baloney, there are always two sides.
Wow, so that’s it. Thanks so much.
I am new to Arah, and I’ve seen people on this forum refer to “the old days when everyone wiped on Lupicus before the guardian tricks”. I have no idea what that is about. Some people say berserker melee with frenzy and just burn him down. Some say range is best for Phase 2. Any advice about this boss would be appreciated.
Thank you all for the considered and well thought out comments. Our group gear is balanced, but on the PTV side. The fights are dragged out. I will study what you recommend and hopefully we can do it. Any other suggestions are welcome as I will be checking back to this forum.
My guild group (mesner, warrior, ranger, guardian, and me – warrior or guardian) has a terrible time with Subject Alpha in CoE. We handle all the other dungeons with ease (haven’t done Arah explorable yet). I have viewed just about every video/guide available. I understand the 2 sec. dodge, ice, circles, stack melee, cleave others out of crystal, where to stand, etc. We are all well-geared (exotic/ascended). I then went in as a warrior with a pug group looking for one on the final boss. At first we wiped (I was the last one standing), and one member apologized for screwing up. The second try we burned Alpha down in no time, and no one took much if any damage. I sense there’s something magic here that I’m missing – from impossible to piece of cake. Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
