Apparently I cannot send PM’s yet due to spam control: I had intended to copy most of this message into this thread anyway as I felt it was some additional insight into my motivations as a player, but this would have otherwise been a PM to you Rising Dusk.

Meat grinding seems to be something that gets on your nerves and I’m not sure I understand the reference in context. Can someone please explain it to me?

I know I’m looking to reach end game content and I want dungeon tokens and all that other neat jazz! (I’m a sucker for some of the token armor sets, and I love appearance customization.) Though I am looking for a group to belong to, I am also aware of my practical reasons for wanting to join a guild. Those being enabling me to run dungeons and level more quickly in challenging zones by having a regular group to play with. This may fall in to the aforementioned meat grinder scenario, though I certainly hope it does not.

I do run a small friends and family guild which is why I am married to staying in SBI, but this guild numbers 2-4 members at any given time because my friends that were invited also have their own family guild. I don’t want to throw that away but it is not my primary interest either, just a convenience for my girlfriend and I. I want to belong to something more that that and actually represent a real group.

Some Important Questions:

  • Can I bring my girlfriend with me?
  • Does your guild roster have other new alts or a group in the mid-late 30’s or lower currently running?
  • If not, do you have a group of members on regularly willing to Mentor in lower level zones?

Primary concerns:
1: I don’t think I have the time or dedication to run a serious guild that will be what I want it to be and I’m a bit shy for putting myself out there in the recruitment circle, though I’ve thought about doing it anyway.

2: I don’t want to get into an established group only to end up continuing to play the 1-79 game by myself. I left WoW, STO, TOR, and CoH/CoV for similar reasons.

As for my personal aspirations. I want to be a team player. I want to experience all the game has to offer. I want to help others experience all the game has to offer. I don’t necessarily aspire to officership, but I do aspire to leadership. I like to be organized for events and I like organizing events. I play MMO’s to play with others. I’m not in it to solo.

Well, I confess you had me until changing my home world. Unfortunately the small group of friends I do play with are well established here on Stormbluff and I would be very reluctant to change worlds. I appreciate the reply though! I wish you the best of luck in recruitment and should I change my mind about home world, I will look you up.

I am a casual to medium-core player. I am looking to get more out of the game by joining a guild. I have been playing on and off since launch trying to get a feel for the game.

I left WoW because I wasn’t hardcore enough to pull off raiding, but I otherwise enjoy mmorpgs a great deal. I have a full time job with regular hours, a girlfriend who also plays, and hobies outside of Mmo’s. I prefer PVE, but want to get into WVW. I am seeking a guild that can appeal to dedicated but ultimately casual players. I want to join a guild to connect with a group of other players who want to experience all the game has to offer together. I also like feeling like I am a part of a team and contributing to a larger goal.

Home world: Stormbluff Isle
Characters: 36 Human Warrior plus a variety of lowbie alts. I intend to have one of each eventually but favor Warrior, Guardian, ranger, and Elementalist professions.
