Guild Wars 2

I haven’t played this game for a while and all the skills and stuff are different now so I need to pick everything again. any guides that anyone can point me to or any quickj advise? I’m almost max level but can’t remember what my level is exactly till I get back into the game.

new motherboard and new processor if you can afford mate, graphics card should hold up. maybe upgrade to 8gb of ram too.

In it’s default position I am constantly, accidentally pressing weapon swap mid battle with me Thief, causing me to put away D/D and get out my bow, this is no good as it ruins the flow of combat and now there’s a cool down on my weapon swap so I have to get out of combat and switch to ranged till the cool down is finished.

I’m not only new to this game but it’s really the first came I’ve really had to use keys so I have to look down or I’m gonna hit the wrong skills on that top bar, messing up hitting heart seek instead of of a regular attack however is nothing compared to being left with a bow in my hands then end up flat on my back as number 3 failed to send me over the top of their heads like usual, it’s happened way to many times now…. any suggestions for a re-bind please, does anyone else move it?

Of course a gaming mouse is the way for ward but I can’t afford one right now, I just have to make do with mouse3 rolls (mouse 3 weapon swap would also be cool but it’s better for rolling)

A friend kindly bought me midnight ice so I can now rock black and with a bunch of other colours I’ve gotten I can now make my mid rang gear look dope.
Not regretting the choice of Thief one bit, they have access to the best looking gear in the game IMO.

Print key on your keyboard, it should be next to F12
To make it really professional press ctrl, shift and H
(and back to see all the windows again)

I have joined that guild from my server too as I needed a guild from my server to do WvW but I would still like to rep your guild for things that we can take part in together.

I will remain in TEEF to learn from the masters and then possibly teach others later on too. I’m not going to take the easy option, want to at least try and play a good thief first. Is there any way to turn round faster? I’m using the right button for turning like the game prompted me too, I think I heard of a way of customising it in WoW so you can turn much faster but wouldn’t have a clue where to start.

The wearable pieces you get in addition to the skins are actually rares so that wouldn’t be very surprising.

Yeah, they made me better so I’m running round doing quests with my thief that are higher level than me, I’d have died if i wasn’t wearing this legacy gear, really good starter set. They have slots to put something in as well but I don’t know what that’s about yet, it’s like materia innit? I’m sure ff7 was the first to do the slots in weapons and armour thing, was soooooooo cool, ha ha.

In the short run the stats may help you but very soon you won’t need them for the stats any more. So I’m glad you got a look you like.

Screenshots:
Easiest: Hit “Print Screen” on your keyboard. That will send a screenshot to C: > Users > Your Name > My Documents > Guild Wars 2 > Screens. (I assume you are a PC Windows user in this, I have no knowledge of Macs). It is possible it fills up at 999 screenshots so you may want to periodically transfer out your screens.

More Elaborate: You can keybind a UI toggle so you get rid of your chat box and XP bar and skills bar etc for purposes of your picture. I put mine on F11 so it’s near Print Screen for rapid toggleUIoff-snap picture-getUIback moves.

Extra Credit: If you bring up your options panel you’ll see camera settings towards the bottom. Shrink the FoV, use camera offsets, etc, and you can get very close pictures. You can also skip taking a full screenshot if you use the Windows Snipping Tool, which lets you quickly freeze your monitor’s image and crop out a section to save in a folder of your choice. That will not be as large or hi-res a file, of course. Or you can go to your screenshots folder and Snip and rename the good parts of the shots you want to share.

It will let you upload an image, with a Browse button to pick what you want to use. “Preview” will let you see your post with that image, and you can add more images by repeating the process. This is where the Snip version is handy, as they are smaller and easier to process.

Also I agree that the females always look better in these games, more ornate armours and stuff. I tend to like male beast or like undead characters tho (female orks are so funny tho, my mates rolled them for PvP and dominated a server with a female ork clan, was awesome) I’m still new to this game but I don’t think I’m gonna make any male toons for this game, the females just look much better.

I have the set but don’t have a camera, can I take print screens in game or something? it looks like what you’re looking for with the mask, has a skull on the shoulder and the belt buckle or whatever has a skull on too, looks sick btw.

is,’t the legacy armour the same as the GW1 armour? you can buy the skins from the gem store!

I got a bunch of free things that I really don’t know what to do with when I bought the game. I got a legacy set of armour, upon opening you can choose heavy, medium or light armour, you also get a set of skins for that same set of armour, not really sure what the point of this is?

Also I got a guild item and it says to give it to the guild of my choice, what’s that all about?

I think my other bits are just XP buffs and stuff but if I had of bought the more expensive version I would have gotten more stuff… what I really wanna know is if that extra stuff is worth having as I can pay the difference to upgrade and get the bits I passed on before.

My friends at the thieves guild say I should stick with thief as if I can play as a thief then the other classes will be easy to me. i’ve also been promised legendary daggers and s et of “berzerkers” (whatever the hell that is) When I get to level 80 so I’d say that’s probably pretty high intensive to stick with the Thief. I think I will level my thief and another like war or guard parallel so if i do have problems with the thief I have a back up, simpler to use toon.

I have been practising with the skills I have at level 3 and I can take on groups of mobs on my own using dodge to my advantage and poisoning and using that jump attack to finish off fleeing non TEEF’s. I also have my legacy armour on my thief now and it looks awesome. Only wish I’df never opened my skins box as it’s taking up way too much room in my box :’(

I wish i still had a smart phone or some form of camera so I could show you. it’s an item you get with the digital edition now, I could have paid a little more an got a bunc more stuff like golem bankers and that but I just wanted the cheaperst copy, wasn’t bothered about extras. enjoying poisoning the kitten out of everything then using that jump attack as a finisher, also using my didge, I can take out groups of 3 enemies no problem while taking minimum damage, think I’m gonna like this class.

I’m pretty sure I never said kitten kitten, must be a filter. I also have skins for the exact same set of armour which doesn’t make much sense. I guess if I want I can make another set look that way, it does look awesome btw, big skill on my shoulder and pro[er cool ninja mask and that

I opened that box of armour on my teef, I look pretty kitten kitten now in my legacy medium set.

I also heard making a Guardian character with the beast race will be viable as guardians are gonna get ranged weapons soon and that means you get to use their bazooka. I read it somewhere, not sure if it’s viable info though.

I seen videos of warriors and guardians too and I must say I liked the look of the guardian just from watching someone else play. I have never played as a warrior in an MMO before, I normally pick Mage type characters or as a Rouge in a game like Elder Scrolls (I have the MMO as well, it’s actually alright but haven’t really played much as GW2 has been on my mind for years now)

I get what you guys mean about the ranger as you have a pet to tank for you while you used ranged and never learn all the dodge mechanics and how to support and heal and stuff too. does the game teach you this stuff through your personal questline?

I just run a current gen i5 with a GTX970 and 8GB of ram and can run everything I’ve tried on top settings. Will be upgrading and adding an i7 at some point and another grapics card, more ram and more memory too.

What case you got? I have a white NZXT with the window in the side, nice case but heavy.

The motherboard is by Gigabyte and i have a 500GB SSD as well. I could do with some more memory but it runs alright, for my first ever rig i’ve built I’m really happy with the performance, even if i did get someone to help who knew what they were doing, ha ha.

you think if i email the support team they will let me switch to your server if i explain i had never pl;ayed the game before and only picked ring of fire because it’s a johnny cash song, they’re gotta sympathise and let me move to my guilds server, haven’t they? if not I will simply pay the fee to move servers when I have it and level up where I am. can I still run dungeons with the guild if I’m on a different server?

PS: Also, as far as WvW goes I’m nowhere near that yet. If I need to I will change servers when the time comes, does it cost money to do that? I’d imagine it does but that’s no biggie as long as they aren’t asking some ridiculous sum for it!? ha ha.

PPS: I will add you in game when I log in later, i am going to be playing the witcher 3 for most of the night though as I want to try and get this finished before GW2 consumes me.

I only have just started the game so what I will do is, join your guild and give you the guild item I have so I don’t loose it and then delete the characters and move to your server as I’m sure that works. only thing is I have an item in my mail thats legacy armour and stuff, will I loose that by doing this?

I have only just started playing this game but I do have MMo experience from a game on iOS called Order and Chaos online where I was a reasonably successful PvP and Dungeon Mage. This game is a WoW clone so it’s basically WoW for handhelds.

I am part of the offical thiefs forum guild from here too but I don’t have to rep them, it’s more just for friends on here who want to learn the thief profession like a baws.

So yeah man, I love gaming and challenges, I love the social part of these games and working as a team to either take down stuff in PvE or get my hands dirty in PvP. please be aware though I have only just gotten the game and I’m still experiencing the story and stuff for the first time so I’m not in any rush to max level and run dungeons or anything. i would be honoured to be a part of your guild though if you will have me.

I made a female human guardian, noble background, blonde so nordic looking. i am a man but I seem drawn to making hot girl characters these days. Think I’ll make a male of one of the Xeno races though.

The guardian seems fun so far and I like the idea of hammers and stuff for weapons too. i’m already a ton more excited about this than I was when i tired WoW last year, this game is so pretty for an MMO especially.

PS: you think this game will ever be on steam?

I have never played as a healer before so guardian is rather appealing too.

I made an elementalist and a thief but I’m thinking theres probably a better class for starting out. I heard warriors are a lot more fun in gw2 than in other games due to how weapons and skills work differently. I really don’t know what I want to go with first.

I just made a female human thief today for my first playthrough, short black hair, looks awesome. I thought if I’m gonna be staring at the back of my toon all day, might as well make it easy on the eyes! ha ha

What is the best way to find a guild and make friends in the game? just playing the game and talking to people?

I used to player order and chaos a lot on iOS and was pretty good with a mage in PvP. I tried WoW but never found a gaming group so gave up on it, the subscriptions suck too.
