About 2years ago i spend 600gold for ascended armor and now i wanna play another class cudnt anet have warned me earlier abou that?

I don’t know how to react to this… is this someone trolling or are they genuinely upset?

I got 2 classes with fully ascended armor, one which was celestial light made from scratch… not to mention 3 legendaries?

so again… am I lost at this post and wondering if the person reads?

quick run down (expect gaps)

don’t know how long you’ve been gone but I’ll work on since living story season 2.

first off, keep the toon. birthday presents are always good.

since season 2 you haven’t missed much other than HoT and balancing that has made builds better/worse, depending on the person.
new armor stat combos have came out changing metas.
PvP stronghold is a mini version of wvw but instead of 3 servers and massive maps, it’s 5v5 and 2 lords to kill.
New ‘better’ WvW maps which makes WvW ‘better’ to play in.
HoT with new lore and the intro of elite specializations to the classes additionally a new weapon per each. example, guardians with traps and a longbow (yeah a distance weapon)
guild halls. took 3 years but they are here. don’t need xpac to use, need xpac to claim.
able to vendor ascended stuff
legendary crafting
masteries (hot required)
‘balancing of skills’ – all personal on this one
raids – hot again
TP being thrown out of wack
new collections – may or may not need hot, unsure

I know I missed stuff, but if I knew when you stopped playing, I would have started there

i’ll start off with welcome back and go in the same order you asked in

1. remake your build. as it was mentioned they did a serious amount of reworking since release from that 5 tier system to the current system along with the new specializations, armor, and sigils, it’ll be easier to remake it or consult the Mesmer forums… sorry

2. there is one, but I don’t pvp with Mesmer much. again, look on forums since that should help out again.
2a. maybe, go looking, I know I hate pvp mesmers
2b. think people are changing that up since the intro of chronomancer trait.

3. go to the mists, and have a happy time salvaging them for mats and agony such a great update.

4. yeah, mostly for ascended crafting and legendary crafting. If your in a guild with a guild hall, than expect to be broke as kittens
5. Black lion crap for cheap.
6. xpac right after ls s2 so nothing missed
7. it’s gone. part of the balancing
8. relearn and have fun if your with a good bunch of people they will accept it. if not, you’ll hear about it.
9. must be, gliding has opened up some areas in central tyria but I’m not a void jumper so no idea. go explore and have fun?

but I run with celestial on my ele, which happens to be my main, in almost everything the game has to offer (but pvp, no longer around:( )

Celestial is a good set in my opinion for ele since we get all the stats. I hate the Zerker meta and I never have really cared to use ice bow or fgs.

thankfully with an update that happened before hot (or at hot) you can easily change the stats of your ascended items without having to make a whole new set, just need an mystic toilet.

Play on the gw2 build editor ( site escapes me and I am at work) and figure out what you want to do. My ele does survives a lot, but I do have a buddy, who runs full celestial d/d in pve and solos mai trin.

on an ele it helps with all my kitten AOE?

I know from experience that I have hit the mist form as soon as I died without realizing it can be very mist leading.

but another thing is your death penetaly. every time you go down and rez you start with less health in a down state.

another factor is that your running pure zerker and getting hit buy a truck the moment you actually rez

I haven’t used staff in about 2 years. staff imho is a more support weapon when your in a group. yes you can use it as a main damage dealer if spec right. I didn’t that the rev gets a better auto attack than ele which is kinda lame and should be fixed

wish auto on sceptor fire, water and earth would match air though

I had this problem show up also. and to add to it only to the one character (which happened to be my main of course) I did fix it just I don’t know why it happened in the first place

what I did, and had to do it multiple times with plenty of swears was I opened all the bag slots, hid all the bags, than unhid all the bags. had to do it a few times before it stuck.

don’t ask me why that happened in the first place but hope it’s a localized bug
