Any particular reason?
I’m not saying the game is perfect, but it’s certainly not the mess a lot of people (even regulars on these forums I notice) seem to think it is. It’s another way for an mmo to operate, and based on everything else I’ve tried, it’s the most feature packed an intricate I’ve seen.
If you enjoy or don’t mind crafting and farming mats you should be fine. Once you get to end level it is the only realistic way to get the top gear for your toon. I used to feel the same way you described yourself until I got all my toons maxed. Then might feel stifled unless you can deal with farming mats and crafting as a carrot on the stick.
And for those who say that you can enjoy everything in the game with one tier below Ascended I say it’s true. But everyone could also get around the world on a Yugo, but most of us want the best vehicle we can afford.
Belzebu, my idea wouldn’t truly be that easy. You could be trying to farm a Greatsword for weeks and get everything else but. The point is that it would give those how don’t craft a small glimp of hope and a carrot on a stick.
That makes this non-crafter sad, I guess I will maintain this game shelved. Such a fantastic game, my favorite toon of all MMOs is in this game. But sadly nobody wants to play a toon they feel is kitten , no matter how cool you feel he is and how much you enjoy the gameplay. Wonder how many other non-crafters have stopped playing because of this too.
Is there a way to get ascended armor and weapons without crafting it yoursefl? I dislike crafting, I usually just gather and sell the mats in all the MMOs I’ve played. This used to be my favorite game prior to ascended gear, haven’t played in months.
I enjoy doing dungeons, world events, and wvw. Now I feel my toons will always be subpar to others. My ideal way to get ascended gear would be to added as a guarantee random ascended gear to the end boss of each explorable dungeon.
I do agree that we disagree. I don’t see how its losing its longevity, for me this game has more than any other. Because the game is based on skill, not gear, each fight never goes the same. Unlike other games where once you learn your rotation it is all about having the best gear. On top of that, the pace in which they are putting up content is nothing short of amazing.
I’m sure there will be times people will stop playing, but that happens in every MMO. People take breaks when they get burned out from playing the same game. The beauty of this game is that when you come back the character which you spent time gearing is still decently geared and can continue where you left off.
Because once my character has the gear with the stats I’ve picked to fit my playstyle, stats become an afterthought. I rather focus on when I need to dodge or which abilities to use to defeat my foes.
Tiers of gear, to me, is like gathering parts for a car you are building. While some people find putting together a car fun, I much rather just drive it. And I, for one, really enjoy the way the GW2 car drives! Gear progression would ruin the game for people like me. With most other MMOs using that system I’m not sure why people are here instead of there.
I have been playing since release and I have 3 80s( the 3 professions that I really like). I still enjoy:
-guild missions
- WvW
-meta events
-dailies/monthlies
-dungeons/fractals
-living story
-PvP
This game offers so many activities that are fun to do. Perhaps the only way you feel accomplished is by finally getting the top gear!! And then using it against lesser foes. Only to have to farmed the next tier after a couple of months. That’s so 2005 =P.
Any new race added to any game requires armor skin adjustments along with weapon animations. That is not a reason to exclude any race from being added.
The point is the people who’s home server that is should get priority.
My point is that I have a hard time believing that the sole reason his guildies are being pushed to overflow is because of people guesting on his server. Just because someone from another server used map chat does not mean that the majority of the people on there are from another server. It is more likely that he is just in a very high population server and upset about overflow.
Centaurs- I think this would make all those people who want to have mounts happy. It would also be very unique as I don’t know of any MMO with a Centaur playable race. As far as lore, just make it a group who see the dragons as the bigger problem and rebel against their brothers to unite with the other races.
My wife and I play on Ferguson’s Crossing. We have some real life friends
and family on this server who rarely play, so we would prefer not to
transfer.We have 2 small kids(3&1), work full time and take classes on and
off. We are hoping to find others around our same age bracket (mid30s). We
are usually on around 7:30 pm est till about 10ish. Even though we enjoy
being good at a game and at times can be competitive, our focus is on having
fun, not on being the best of the best. We are hoping to find people with
similar ideals to play with and an easy going sense of humor, who aren’t
easily offended and log in to enjoy themselves without the stress of real
life. We are mostly interested in dungeons.
