I’ve been having the same issue, but for me the lag started about a month ago. Same as you guys, I can log into a character and run around and even see chat, but none of my abilities get sent to the server, and movement is erratic, and after a minute or two I’ll disconnect.
I submitted a ticket, but support wasn’t very helpful.
If you guys find a solution, it’d be great to hear.
I’m in the same boat, I’ve been having a minute or two of lag, but it seems like it only happens in the evenings. It really sucks when I can’t play the game in the limited free time I have. I’ve submitted a ticket, but I only got the usual restart your computer and call your ISP line.
Wow these look amazing. I can’t express how thankful I am that you all are looking deeply into class design. These changes show that you all are listening to feedback from the right people.
The following applies to SPvP:
I think the new earth XI trait, Diamond Skin, for elementalists is very, very interesting. I think that I would prefer a game style where conditions are harder to apply and remove, but that doesn’t seem the direction the designer’s want it to go, which is interesting and viable.
I think the danger here is that people compensate by just bringing more conditions, and you end up with teams of 4 necromancers/engineers and a guardian.
I totally agree, it kinda hurts that they put it in game and they should remove it from WvW. It sucks to know that other people have an artificial advantage over me because I can’t play as much as they do.
One way they could do this (without infuriating a bunch of PvErs) would be to reduce the stats by 15% on ascended pieces (or whatever the exact number may be) to bring it in line with the exotic equivalent. That way its the same stats priorities and skin, but you don’t have people with 15% more damage than others because they have put in hundreds of hours.
Meta means taking advantage of currently popular strategies.
For example, when everyone in SPvP started using condi-cleave, the warrior stun build evolved because it hard countered those builds.
In PvE, if it is very common to run with warriors who give fury easily, there is no point to trait for fury, so you might take another trait insead.
I guess meta has come to mean adapting to other people’s playstyle.
In PvP:
1) Dueling
2) Alternative modes to conquest
3) More participants (I think this will follow the other two objectives)
In PvE:
1) Viable conditions in groups
2) More jumping puzzles
3) More open world events related to the living story (not related to a specific zone)
I’m having the same issue with around 50% packet loss at the level three server in Dallas. Is there any way to avoid this?
Hi hobbitpimp – I can tell you that this issue is not on our end. If this was the case, there would likely be a very large thread with most forum frequenters agreeing with you in a very short period of time.
Hey Ashley, while not everybody is experiencing this issue, a lot of people are! It’d be great to get some help.
I have the same problem, it seems to happen more for me during peak hours. I’ve had extensive contact with support but so far they’ve been worthless. From what I can tell, their servers are dropping most of my packets, but I’m no network guru.
I’m having issues connecting and ~10 seconds of lag around peak times. Really disappointing that a huge issue like this isn’t even being acknowledged. So far support ticket responses have been worthless.
I had the exact same issue as you and fixed it by exiting the client and then logging back in.
