There are a few. Look at my signature. The majority of us hate it though and it makes us want to quit the game.
Can you care to explain why the majority players dislike Skyhammer? I know that the laser can be annoying at times but overall I enjoy playing in Skyhammer.
I play mainly a mesmer in solo arenas but I have never used a knock back build in that map (I play staff and scepter/torch). That being said, I enjoy the hilarious actions that takes place there. It puts a smirk on my face when I see people (including me) fall down through the glass panels or get pushed off the cliff. I play a female sylvari and the way my character screams when falling down is just hysterically funny. I just love Skyhammer and hope they never remove it.
Any other players that enjoy Skyhammer?
A shaman would have to be light (or at least medium) armor, meaning it’s going to be a while if it is added at all, as the next class is pretty much guaranteed to be a heavy.
Has it been stated by ArenaNet that the next profession would be a heavy armor user? If so, can you link it?
I would have to agree with the Norn ele, ranger, or necro being the closest to a shamanistic combo for gw2. Especially the necromancer, since we know that can call upon and deal with spirits of the dead. (As shown by the PS and Marjory’s short story.)
Personally, I don’t think I ever considered the ritualist as “shamanistic”. Maybe in the strictest of definitions, but the class seemed too refined and mainstream to be what I consider as a shaman. If anything, I always thought of them as ectomancers.
From past games I’ve played that had a shamanistic class, it usually involved with spirits or ancestors. They were also usually tribal. Those elements fit the Ritualist from GW1.

Some professions, like the Mesmer and Guardian lack a passive movement speed skill. Not that I support of them having this but I do see a lot of complaints on this issue. In my opinion, if they ever do add mounts with movement speed they should keep it at 25% to be balanced with other professions that have a skill that grants passive movement speed.
A future Ritualist class would be the closest possible fill on this.
I agree! I would love to play a Ritualist again as I did in GW1. In terms of gameplay, the Engineer replaced them but knowing ArenaNet, I’m pretty sure they can come up with a creative, unique playstyle for the Ritualist like they did with the other playable professions.
In other games I’ve played, my favorite archetype was a tribal, spiritual class. I was really disappointed when there wasn’t a profession that filled that roll in GW2. I have every profession to level 80 (excluding warrior) and none of them just don’t have that outlook of a shaman/seer.
We have almost every archetype: your typical warrior, sneaky thief, wizard, holy protector, etc. However, we’re missing an archetype that deals with ancestral spirits.
Some people would say that necromancers fill this niche but it’s not the same at all. Necromancers mainly manipulate and force the dead to do their bidding, while a spiritual/shamanistic profession would call assistance or be granted power from their ancestors.
I know they’re working on LS2 but I just hope one day they add that kind of profession.
Anyone else feel the same?
…before the gods arrived? I’m aware that ritualists obtained their magic through the connections of their ancestors but it wasn’t the same magic brought from the gods. What I’m curious is how were they able to use this magic in the first place and where did it originally came from?
League of Legends had a rework on Karma and her new skill set reminds me of the ritualist from GW1:

I really miss playing the ritualist (not the spirit spamming aspect of it). Please bring them back!
