It seems pretty straight forward to me but why isn’t there difficulty levels for dungeons? Like giving a three man party the ability to play a dungeon without dying every five seconds? All it would require pretty much is for the enemy’s stats to be adjusted down like 10 or 20% but it seems like the developers want people to feel frustrated with the dungeons rather than enjoy them. Honestly, I’ve played through AC with a 5 man PUG and while we did beat the dungeon, it was just a boring grind of constant dying and reviving. And with three people, just forget about it unless you’ve got a specific build and traited in the correct way.
I don’t really understand why the dungeons need to be this hard for everyone. You can appease both sides of the argument here simply by adding difficulty tiers kind of like you see in LOTRO. You can still keep the same difficulty (lets call it tier 2) but make a tier 1 and a tier 3 for both casual players and hardcore players. And have the rewards scale based on which level you pick (We already kind of see this with fractals).
More importantly however is putting in an option for the dungeons that scale the difficulty based on how many players are in your party. So a 4 man party tier 2 will be easier than a 5 man party tier 2. However you can select to do a 5 man tier 2 with 4 people, you just can’t go lower than the 4 man party level. That way if you only have three players who want to do a dungeon, you can still do the dungeons and make progress.
I just think these features would be nice to see added to the game. Rather than dumbing down the game and making it too easy for the hardcore players or having it be too hard for the casual players, give both sides a way to play and enjoy the game. Thanks.
