If you’re on Kaineng (or guesting?) and looking for the Hydra Queen achievement, a large group of us are working on it and Jenny and the Lionguard just left the island a few min ago.
Best of luck to all of us.
Also completed today’s daily and received no reward chest. Submitted a bug ticket in-game.
Finished 4 requirements, then completed Gatherer and Leveler at the same time. No chest. Relogged character, finished a 7th achievement, and rebooted GW2. Still no chest.
I would really like to get that laurel and mystic coin =\
Most of the daily requirements you will get while simply playing during the day. However, sometimes you will be required to seek out the last objectives to finish the daily. But it’s called an Achievement, not a “playtime reward.”
Some people will be able to get it without trying at all, some will need to do a little work (getting dodges on my hunter was a pain, since you can’t unsummon a pet without it coming back during combat, but I found a way. I also could’ve logged another character). But either way, it’s not terribly difficult and every daily can be completed in any of the starter zones in less than a hour.
It would be nice if they were more fun to do, but adding specificity also increases the difficulty for certain players. Currently, the requirements are just generic enough for anyone to be able to complete them easily. Personally, I like the recent chance and I don’t see a need for further changes at this time.
Has anyone had issues with the events on Laughing Gull island? I’ve been waiting on and around the island for 2 hours, and the entire time the event simply states “The Lionguard are preparing to attack Laughing Gull Island and Taidha Covington.”
Lionscout Jenny is not on the island, nor are any other friendly NPCs, and there haven’t been any “Protect Bill and Hekja as they clear Risen from the area” events these whole two hours.
Is this event bugged on certain servers?
I just did http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Time_for_a_Promotion – and had the same FPS-problem in the arena – playing a necro, using blood fiend and bone minions
- i just excited Black Citadel, also getting the 10fps bug there – strangely enough it helped after I returned after tabbing out to write about it
I’m pretty sure this is a different issue from the one the OP had described.
The problem you have described sounds exactly like a situation that happens to me quite often – maybe once or twice a day – only it usually occurs when I’ve just loaded from another zone, or I have programs running in the background and the game tries to load a group of doodads or players.
I’m not sure the exact cause (very likely hardware), but alt-tabbing and returning to the game fixes the problem for me every time. If that doesn’t fix it, then there may be a larger problem, but that problem should be expressed in a new thread.
Cheers
At this time, it appears this upgrade only takes effect for new accounts.
They may have a deal Sat or Sun that discounts the in-game upgrade which is bought with gems. Personally, I think it would be cool to offer current players a free upgrade (similar to the free Devil Horns). It was rough, reading that advertisement less than a week after purchasing the game >.<
It seems the heart of this argument is the discrepancies between the way they present the discounts with one item vs another item. With the stones, the “WAS” price lists what the actual price was for the discount packs before Black Friday, versus the keys which lists the price of 25 individual keys (not the discount pack price) before Black Friday.
While it may seem confusing, or even deceptive, stores across the nation do this every day. Have you ever noticed that, for example, stores will list some soda prices by $ per weight, and some by $ per volume? Two different ratios for two similar products, side-by-side on the shelf. They do this to make one product seem more appealing than another. Does it fool people? Sometimes. But anybody who has used common sense while shopping reads labels and makes the necessary conversions in their head to find the best deal.
- The short of it:
When you decide to buy something, the smart course of action would be to research the price (or any current “deal”) to see if you’re being swindled. It doesn’t matter if they list a deal price against the product’s individual price, use a different unit of measure, or tell you the cost in lire. Always do your research, because impulse buying is the worst way to purchase anything.
