Sorry if this has already been answered. My issue is whether specialisations can use the weapons the profession could already use.
We know specialisations will allow professions to use a weapon they weren’t able to use before, but does that mean specialisations will let the profession use existing weapons?
i.e if the necromancer specialisation can use a great sword, does that mean it will be able to use the staff, scepter, axe, dagger, focus, and warhorn?
I know it may seem obvious as the mesmer can use a shield which is off hand, meaning it must be able to use a main hand weapon, but you don’t think the specialisation would only apply to the shield do you? i.e the last two weapon skills, and changes in utility skills etc
I am just a little paranoid
Yeah if you shatter your clones smash like mirrors regardless of trait.
If you have an on death trait they explode on death, target death or replacement.
If you don’t have such a trait, they simply dissipate by turning into butterflies on the above.
Ahh that explains it, thank you
It’s still there. If you have Debilitating Dissipation, your illusions will explode in a cloud of smoke. If you don’t, they have the standard mirror shatter appearance.
Ironically, I actually dumped DD BECAUSE of the smoke. I prefer the mirror shatter effect. :P
Hmm, maybe its because I’m shattering on the practice dummies in P v P that I don’t see smoke?

Same here. The normal shatter animation feels much more mesmery.
If the effect was larger I would like it more, I feel the standard shatter is quite underwhelming. I think a larger mirror explosion would look a lot better. I do agree the smoke looks a little out of place
Hello,
I’ve come back to GW2 after several months apart from it, and thought I would try out the Mesmer profession again
Only question is, has the smoke explosion been removed? (the one where if you used the Debilitating Dissipation trait the clones would explode in a cloud of smoke) I remember seeing the effect when I played before
Was wondering if it was viable as a way of clouding an opponents view, fitting into the mesmer theme of misdirection
Although I always found it weird that it was a smoke explosion and not a larger version of the typical shatter explosion
