Hi, in the open world PvE, I stacked over 80% +burning condition duration on my Dragonhunter under the assumption that the burning applied by Virtue of Justice is affected by gear stacking, but testing reveals this not to be the case. No matter what gear is equipped, I get a flat 3.75s stack of burning on every 5th attack (or 3rd when traited). Is this working as intended?

Also, the Dragonhunter trait “Zealot’s Aggression” doesn’t seem be affected by +condition duration gear, either. Neither does it update the tooltip for Virtue of Justice… Zealot’s Aggression applies 1.75s of cripple as a passive effect on every 5th (or 3rd) attack, but again, when Zealot’s Aggression is traited, the tooltip for Virtue of Justice does not reflect any application of cripple. Testing on the target golem in the Aerodrome does apply the cripple effect, however, this cripple is not affected by stacking +condition duration gear.

Also, love talking kitty-scat about features before they ship, speculating, and general hype. Actually shipping features is overrated.

I agree that the northern towers had strategic importance on Alpine due to them being able to treb garri, which is not the case on Desert. However I am not sure Bay and Hills are any more or less “meaningful” than fire and air keeps in terms of map strategy. I know I am in a tiny, tiny minority here but personally I kittening hated defending Bay so much. It was most often a 4-hour stalemate, where defenders held off until our NA guilds went to sleep or logged out of boredom, and the JQ/TC/YB megablobz would log in. I couldn’t nail down specifics for you on why but to me, Bay sucked, the layout of Bay sucked, Bay was a defender’s nightmare if you were even slightly outmanned. Yes under ideal circumstances things could go well but fighting outmanned as we so often did especially the year before HoT, “ideal circumstances” were pretty rare.

Sorry to rant about Bay.

IMO there are two groups of players who don’t like the Desert BL:

Group 1 – Tried it, didn’t like it, thought about why they didn’t like it, can articulate why they didn’t like it and maybe, potentially, offer fixes for those things they don’t like.

Group 2 – Alpine BL was their Wooby, and ANet took their Wooby away and replaced their old, cuddly, warm Wooby with some cruddy old new blanket ANet said was their new Wooby but it wasn’t really Wooby. These players know how their Wooby feels against their face and they won’t be tricked into liking a new Wooby. In fact, the old Wooby was totally perfect in every way and this new wannabe wooby is total garbage in every way. I bet that new wooby doesn’t even smell like spit on the corners or have a poop stain from when they were a baby or worn-out parts from being rubbed for so many years like the real Wooby.

ANet will never, ever be able to satisfy Group 2 with a new map because Group 2 doesn’t want a new map, they just want their Wooby. I think Group 2 should just be dismissed out of hand since every change will make them miserable.

Group 1 players leaving is a problem. I was among those, though the thing that drove me mad and had me uninstall was the lack of communication. I play a couple other games now but I still make time for GW2 though since they started communicating again. Hopefully that keeps up.

“All our problems are caused by Desert BL!” is just as counterproductive as “Everything is fine!”

Y’all remember spawn trebs on Alpine? That map was exploitable! Bring back Alpine, but only as one of four playable maps!

I would prefer implementing all 4 WvW maps into the matchup. Let the players play where they want. The new DBL are fine once people take the time and effort to learn them, and I, personally, like it.

Having all four maps active would be a great solution!!

Yes, move to Friday. 6/7pm PST is okay, but Early NA sort of gets the shaft.

One week is too much time to collect raw PPT scores… the scoring gaps are too large. The nature of empty maps ticking +500 for the same window of time every day (e.g. night capping) places too much value on time frames that are easily manipulated by the few who care to do so. A closer score, at least by appearances, would encourage more participation.

Just had a thought… you know how EotM shuts down every three hours and resets, right? What if all the WvW maps were on the same schedule…? Award points for winning these little “micro-weeks”. Servers get 3 points for winning the PPT in the “micro-week” three hour window, 2 points for second place, and 1 point for third. The final weekly winner would be the server that collected the most 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place points, instead of the raw PPT total score.

That would make off-hours ticks of 500+ worth the same as prime ticks of 270… it wouldn’t matter how much you win your time slot by, only the fact that you won, or came in second or third, would contribute to your server’s overall weekly score. All those hours your opponent is putting in to milk easy uncontested PPT wouldn’t count for anything more than the hours you put in doing work, defending and taking. Points Per Kill could be expressed as “the bonus point” for your window, whichever server carried the best Kills to Deaths ratio would be awarded one extra point for that time slot.

You really wouldn’t need to reset the maps, either, simply include a scorekeeping/countdown panel that tracked the current scoring vs the total weekly score.

Maybe 3 hour scoring windows are too small… Maybe 4 or 6 or 8 hour windows?

Hmm… I wonder what would happen with one simple change… what if ANet enabled PPT on EotM? How would the fights be over there?

It’s just something I personally haven’t dealt with before, I suppose. It’s unnerving to have an active spy reading our mapchat with the overt intention of relaying information back to the spy’s home server. As a player who actively uses mapchat, I’ll have to toughen up my sensibilities and find a way to work around it.

He follows the Commander tag and lays down regular Ballistas everywhere we stop to drop Flame Rams, or in the middle of an openfield fight, very obvious griefing. Here is an example screenshot series, he got in a golem and jumped off the ledge at Hills. Is there anything can we do about it? There is a general mapchat assumption that he is being paid by SoR forces, but that seems very unlikely.

Hello, I mistakenly purchased a Digital Deluxe upgrade through the gem store when I already own the Digital Deluxe version through pre-purchase. In the late of the evening, and seeing that the gem store would allow me to purchase the DD upgrade, I had thought possibly I owned simply a Digital version vice Digital Deluxe… slightly stoopid. I was really in pursuit of the guild influence consumable, as my guild morphed into something else than it had been, changed servers, and changed names, hence, my one-time use +2000 guild influence consumable has gone to waste. If you can refund the 2000 gems, that will be good, or if you can credit me the +2000 guild influence consumable, that would be better! Reference# 120911-007571
