So, I got GW2. I loved it; however, there were so many problems early on I had to quit for a bit.
I want to come back to my Ranger. Have they gotten better?
p.s. I am writing this prior to reading the forums; my guess is I will get an idea from other posts, but I would still like to hear some thoughts from the people who stuck around.
I’m the rare rogue that’s a team player. I love the support available in the class. I love that I’m not limited to a burst-damage-from-nowhere playstyle (though I appreciate it’s an option).
I don’t think you’re quite as rare as you think. I would rather play a thief that dazes, stuns, blinds, etc. ; however, does kitteny damage.
I always play the Rogue class with the shortest race thanks to the Hobbit.
Though, I typically enjoy the master mechanic/scout style better than the assassin.
I actually like FS.
I just wish that the second strike would hit a little harder since it rarely hits. That way, if it does hit, it is worth it.
Though they need to definitely fix it with SoS.

Any other thieves here pick in real life? If so, how long? What is your favorite lock to pick?

Is the passive buff going away for anyone else when entering combat?
Engineer’s have smoke bomb, too. However, I thought it just created a smoke field with no damage.
The main skill I wish we had as Thieves is lock pick. That just seems like a must, and I lock pick for a hobby. Would be neat.

Dual Throwing knives
1 skill – throw knife (bleed 5 seconds)
2 skill – leap backwards, throwing 3 knives crippling for 3 seconds, and one poison for 3 seconds) 4 initiatives
3 skill – Assassinate – Throw a series of flying daggers (a total hit of 7) to target, crippling for 3 secs (4 initiatives)
4 skill – Chained dagger – roots single target for 2 seconds or has a 2 hit HP (3 initiative)
5 skill – throw dagger to target, teleporting to him (5 initiative)
Personally, I wish the thief was more thief/burglaresque than assassin style. I think it would be more fun to have blind and stun as more mainstream abilities and damage take a step back. Thieves, to me, should be more of a support/control profession.

I never understood the complaining about backstab Thieves. They are just like an assassin. If they catch you completely off guard: you’re dead; else: they’re dead.
Some people want every class to be the same.
I’m hoping Dwarves. I hope the Great Dwarf reforges them… Pretty upset that I can’t play as a Dwarf now.
Ignore people whining for no good reason. It is what people do on the forums. Go check out the other profession forums.
See this is the funny thing about lore…over time it changes. If ANet wanted to bring back dwarves, they could. They would just write them in. There is nothing in the lore that prevents them from bringing them back. The beauty of writing is that you can always write something new.
This is what people forget. Personally, I really hope they bring Dwarves back.
