Add me to the list of people who gets a network error, but here’s the catch: I own and play on two accounts, and only one of them (my main) is throwing the network error. Both accounts are, needless to say, played on the same machine.
Furthermore, I am capable of logging in, and play my account using my husbands PC without issues. Both our machines are using the same hardware, setup and modem.

Thanks MiniEquine.6014 and Evans.6347 for answering so promptly.
They do seem to have issues with the wording of things from time to time. Glad the community is still awake and ready to answer though.

Posting here because I could do with some clarification on the subject.
Can the Ultimate Edition be used with my existing account?
I was initially going to buy the Ultimate edition of HoT; but reading the newsletter from ArenaNet promoting the packages, made me insecure about whether the Ultimate edition can be used with my existing account.
In the newsletter it states: “The Ultimate edition will not be available as an upgrade and must be purchased as a full game package.”
Does that mean that I will not be able to use it to upgrade my existing account with the content that is available from the Ultimate edition?
If #197 is not taken, can I have that please.
Looking forward to the event.
When I first saw the announcement about the megaservers I thought it was a good and necessary step. I thought it would make playing with the people I have come to love and respect, people that come from all corners of Europe and the server pool (both of these points I happen to value deeply) through being part of one of the cross server, international boss slaying guilds, much easier.
Then came the announcement of the boss spawn and timer changes, and it dawned on me that these changes may seriously hamper a big part of my game play, and remove one of the aspects I love about the game.
My everyday Pve/WwW/dungeon/PvP guild is but a small guild, so it will take considerable effort to collect enough merits to be able to start any of these events. Because a big part of playing this game, for me, is the social aspects, I have no intentions of leaving this guild behind on account of joining a bigger guild that will not accept that I, in my normal play, represent my everyday guild.
So the TxS alliance is, in so many ways a Godsend for people like me, and the part that the alliance is international with representatives from every corner of Europe (and cross server) is by no means the smallest part. The fact that GW2 has spawned that kind of community is/was part of its strength, and it is a testament to the versatility and ingenuity of the community. And now I fear I will be forced to see that crumble.
If I am lucky, I may be able to do one of the boss events once a week, that is if the obstacles agenciq (the OP) has pointed out can be overcome, but I am deeply concerned that that will not be the case.
I may no longer be able to enjoy playing parts of the game when I want to, with people I choose to play with. Who I play with is now going to be decided by an algorithm (giving that choice to people is obviously a bad thing), and the world boss spawn times are going to be so rigid and skewed that my everyday work and sleep patterns would have to be adjusted heavily to be able to accommodate (no need to say that will not happen of course).
The other option of spawning the bosses with guild merits, is going to be near on impossible for my everyday guild, and no easier for any cross server alliance like the TxS guilds, for the foreseeable future.
My hopes are, that ArenaNet will take the concerns raised in this thread seriously and that they may be willing to accommodate this part of their player base – not a small part I may add, and in doing so keeping it possible for this type of community to exist.
Yay!
Congrats good and lovely people. This is soo great and well deserved.
Same error here. Europe UK.
The problem seems to go away and then reoccur at intervals. It seems to only happen to two of my characters, the rest seems unaffected.
Last night it happened again, and this time I let the loading screen run for about 5 minutes, and then, surprise! I was in – or so I thought.
What I had landed on turned out to be something resembling a “ghost server” in that I could not interact with anything, most (but not all) of the NPC’s were missing, and I could not see any other players. After another 5 minutes or so I got kicked out with a network error.
Now we play as a family, and usually have 2 or 3 of us connected to GW2 at the same time (last night it was 2) and none of my other family members have ever experienced any of the above problems, so any network issues should not be from this side.
I have the exact same problem and am on Aurora Glade as well.
The problem have been there before, and seem to have come back with a vengeance this time.
I make sure to always send bug reports from the characters I can log in with, but it would be nice if it just didn’t happen since it renders characters unplayable.
I really don’t mind people getting the reward several times. Honestly don’t feel bad about that. What I feel bad about is all the people who participated on some level, or tried to, and who still hasn’t got any reward at all.
The latter includes my husband and I, and we even have a screen dump that shows us participating in the final event chain.
Now that part really gets to me, despite trying my very best to stay positive and loyal.
My husband (udoh.5307) posted previously about us missing the loot and the mail and I just wanted to say that I appreciate the effort the GW2 team are doing to rectify this issue and that I am very much looking forward to my loot chest mail. Thanks for your time.
Guild Wars 1 taught me to hold ArenaNet in high regards as to how they treated their loyal customers.
Guild Wars 2 is so far not doing the same. My husband and I got disconnected after a painstaiking 2 hours of horrendously laggy gameplay and thus ended up with no reward.
Make these events work for all of us, not just for some of us. You did it in GW1 and if you got it wrong there, you went our of your way to correct it, do the same here and you may end up with a customer base that is loyal.
I have been experiencing something similar more and more on the ones of my characters positioned in Lion’s Arch.
The problems I am experiencing is that I seem to end up on a “ghost” overflow, where I am unable to interact with anything and where sometimes the NPCs and other players are missing. When that happens I can run around for about 5 to 10 minutes, and if I am in a party I will be able to see my party members, but nobody else. After the mentioned time period I will then get kicked out with the error code 7:11:3:189:101.
My husband is playing the game as well, we play on identical setups and he has experienced none of the above mentioned problems.
I have a couple of interesting screenshots from both our machines. The ones from mine shows my character is in LA with my husbands character visible as the only other player. The screenshot taken from his machine at the same time, clearly shows that there are lots of other players (and NPCs) around us.
If anyone from ArenaNet are interested in those screenshots please contact me.
