If not having the shoulders or helm what ever it maybe on while in an spvp match didnt effect me gameplay wise (stats) Then I have no problem tuffing it out and leveling the toon through spvp with scrolls until i can buy the gear and transmu it. But im not sure if that is how it is..
Remember, you can now level up your characters in PvP with Scrolls you will earn (in PvP). Once your character is of the required level, I am sure the gear you are lacking will become available.
As for Transmutation Charges, you should have received one for each rank of PvP you have earned. And, as others mentioned, you will earn more from each Reward Track. Good luck.
That is true. But if i spvp on my level 1 toon withouth the required gear does that effect me in the match.. Do i lose the stats that would have been on the said gear…?
It’s not a new resource, it is the same resource pve players have been using since launch, just in a new format. All that has changed really is that now pvpers also have to use the transmutation system, which is probably the cause of frustration for you, but for most pvers, its a more streamlined system.
It is likely they didn’t want to separate the two types of player out and keep it balanced.
See I dindt know that about the transmu charges. So it makes sense and is fair and I no longer feel how I did about that. Thank you for the sorting that out.
Which vendors are you referring to? The ones I went to (the ones where you got runes and sigils) DIdnt have shoulders or helms. In game a player said the same thing that they had them, but when I went to them nothing.. I figured it was because he was lvl 80 and my toon at the time was lvl 1. As for the transmutation charges I meant if I already have the skins unlocked why do I need this new resource to use them. For instance after patch when you go into the mist your gear is that of what you where wearing in PVE. Granted they give you 30 or so chargers (atleast thats what I had) Across my 8 toons gear and weapons and all those wont last long..
Before I begin let me say that this is my opinion and my personal feelings towards the state of the game. Also I didnt know where to post this so its going here.
Now I bought GW2 for 1 reason and 1 reason only. SPVP. Even before the game was released its pvp concept excited me more than any other game out there. The fact that in spvp you didnt need to be maxed lvl or have the best gear or certain builds to play and have fun was a welcomed sight. With that being said, I had, have, will have no interest in PVE what so ever. Thats just me. In my mind I played WoW, I did my time leveling up just to be able to do arenas…. I just want to kill people in pvp…WIth this most recent patch introduced the wardrobe system. Awesome concept indeed I can admit but it has its flaws.
1. I am missing skins thats I already had. Now at first I didnt notice, but then it was 1 or 2 in heavy armor, a few in medium and also in light. Now what really baffles me is that its not an entire set. I.E. in light armor I have everything for the vigil set except the legs… funny because 3 of my toons before the patch had those legging equiped.
2. Now because I do not PVE and only SPVP all of my toons are obviously low level, most lvl 1. So when I log onto my lvl 1 necro to spvp I enter the mist wearing what a starter wears. No gloves.. no shoulders..no helm.. well poop. Where the hell am I supposed to get those.. I so far have found no answer. I now feel like I am forced to level up then buy or find shoulders/gloves/helm just so I can use them in spvp.
3. And lastly Transmutation Charges. Why is it that I now have to pay to use what I already have. What are you? Apple? That just seems ridiculous to me. Am I the only one?
Again these are my personal opinons. Any feedback or solutions are very much welcome. Because as it stands I sadly am about to turn to a not so impressive ESO just because I feel forced to do something(PVE) I previously didnt have to do. Which in all honest is sad because I love GW2 =[
sorry for the wall of text..
kakumbien.8047 I’ve been playing your build but using soldiers amu with beserk jewel and using my turrets more defensively. Its awesome as a point assault or even semi bunker. Been having fun with it!
There is no viable staff build in pvp. You will get destroyed in every 1on1.
I LoL’d. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chICapoQF4E Ive been playing this guys build for the past week. And let me tell ya, 1v1 i rarely loose. Ive gone up to 3v1 and was able to out heal and endure until help arrived.
I too am getting this error.
condition I recommend 20/20/30. You have alot of defense, it will be hard to die even if you try. Your damage relies on combos (you have to know all skills quite well).
Do you have a build link for this? I have never tried a condition mesmer and am rather curious. Thx in advance.
So in all seriousness, I played around with this build for about 5 or 6 solo ques and hotjoins in the down time. DID NOT DIE ONCE. Didnt really kill anything either but outlived or bunked down to the point the other person got tired and ran off. Teams fights obviously are where this build shines. If my team was near me they didnt die. All in all its an annoying support build.
Very niice video man. Makes me want to play my thief more. Keep it up!!
I hate to be this guy and i dont mean to put you or your builds down personally and im not going to go through them individually and pick out what is good or not so good.
So you’re going to criticize me, and my builds. But you’re not going to use them, or bother learning them.
Mmkay.
You make broad statements some of which i just dont agree with looking at your potentate build a few glaring things stand out to me.
The statement thakittens the best burster build available isnt true.
It is true. I have used all of the known meta builds, and theory crafted numerous combinations. This is by far the best overall. It’s even better than other classes best meta burst builds.
You will do more damage if you spec points from blood magic into soul reaping, you will lose your ability to do damage more often but you will do more damage.
No you won’t. Damage more often is better, it’s also survivability. Well of Darkness is the best damage mitigation we have save Plague Form.
Also Running bone minions will give you more burst then the other options listed same with blood is power.
No it will not, it’s also inconsistent. 4k damage from exploding two bone fiends does not equal the sheer amount of damage and utility you gain from 5 seconds of wells, plus a dagger burst.
Im not saying the changes are good changes but they will give you more burst making your statement not true.
No they will not, I have tested running 20 in Soul Reaping, the burst is slightly higher, but not as effective. I could make a build that hits for 30,000 damage, but it won’t do any good if I die in a single hit, or have to wait 10 years, or my damage is suddenly taken away, or is as inconsistent as might stacking.
not running staff is a choice that probably 95% of tpvp necro’s would disagree with you about and also not running signet of undeath as well, some people/teams will require it others will not.
Guess what, 95% of the tPvP Necromancers run crappy meta builds. Staff is ineffective, all it can be used for on a burst build is Regen, 4 seconds of Chill, a condition transfer, and a Fear. Not good. The main weapon of this build is Dagger. Axe/Focus is simply for bloodlust stacking and Life Force stacking on downed players.
I just dont want new players to fall into the trap of reading what you have said and thinking oh wow this guy is 100% right and im going to do everything he says.
I have taught and aided more Necromancers than SoAC and most of the top tournament players combined. I know how the class works, and I know how it works compared to other classes. I have seen meta Necromancers, fought good ones, and my students have even had the chance to see/talk to Gibbly in some of the earlier profession tournaments. While I cannot be right 100% of the time, I do find myself right a good margin of the time. I am also unbiased, and if something is bad, then it is bad. Staff Bursting Necromancers are bad.
I just wanted to say that the statement that all these builds can be effective in the highest levels of tpvp is a bit much i mean how do you know have you tested them at the highest levels of pvp? because last time i checked you were not in the top 1000.
If you actually look at Leaderboards for your information/skill findings, you are sadly, and dearly mistaken. I have used the meta builds all the other Necromancers think are best for high level tPvP, and guess what, they’re significantly worse.
So please keep doing what you are doing because more theory crafters are always good maybe just turn it down a little.
I take your post as an indirect insult to me. I also take Zombie’s post as an insult to himself. I doubt either of you have tried the builds I have listed, or even know how to use them effectively.
I’m going to have to give it to him. I just made a necro for the second time (1st time tried followed a guide from a pvp Necro and I hated it.) But I tried out the Potentate build and wrecked 5 solo tspvp games. I normally play thief/war/engi/guard. I like melee classes and this has to be the most fun class/build i got going atm. just wanted to give my 2 cents. I have no time under my belt as a necro and just folloing TheMightyAltroll little build summary helped more than anything.
Great vid. Build?
