I also play a mesmer, with a similar, but very different build. In this video it’s clear that you play your mesmer like a thief.

Yes it’s nice when you catch one or two people off guard, but glass cannon builds have a hard time keeping up the front line, which is where mesmers shine.

I just play like a ranger on front line battles, I can burst targets down very fast when no one is on me.

This reminds me of a warhammer online video I saw of a dps shammie. Great kiting and i really though you were gonna go down sooner. Great game play and thanks for posting that.

I’m from SBI. Also, there is a chance it was my video you watched. I played a DPS shammie in warhammer, and I made pvp video’s during my time there.

Just wondering about your build..

What runes are you running, armor stats for example; berserker, rampager and what sigils do you have equipped?

I’m not so sure you need to go so far into domination, then again, I don’t run this build, just saying a little in inspiration or chaos might be good for some extra survivability…

How does a build like this fair in general solo pve and spvp?

last question, I’ve ran both greatsword and staff builds – Greatsword was full berserker, staff build was full rampager?

You’d think with both builds being set for damage, with almost not stats into inspiration or chaos, that the staff would offer greater survivability what with chaos armor etc..

I’ve found the opposite to be true however, you can seriously kite the kitten out of your opponent with the greatsword

How do you feel about this?

I updated my OP to show my stats and build. I don’t really care about the condition damage of my staff, as I use it mainly for that warlock shot in with my burst. The field/armor are just awesome bonuses for me.

I might try more a survival set up for this weekend. I’m going to make another video regardless, but if the condition damage and chaos spec isn’t working for me, I’ll go back to my bread and butter.

916 toughness – I am sure it’s fun killing people quickly, but with such low toughness you probably die a lot more than you need to.

Melee gets hurt real bad if you build glass cannon. The main reason I can make my build how I do is the fact that I am very good at keeping mobile, dodging big hit spells, and kiting. If I had to get close to someone to do damage, I would die way to fast.

As for the Warden from the focus, yes it is 1 of the higher DPS phantasm, but it also doesn’t move, and dies very fast. Staff phantasm crits for up to 8-9k…

My stats are as follows;

Power – 2,485 (2,735 with Bloodlust stacks)
Precision – 1,819
Toughness – 916
Vitality – 916

Attack – 3,875 (4,125 with Bloodlust stacks)
Critical Chance – 47%
Critical Damage – 75%
Armor – 1,825
Health – 15,082

All the gear is get is exotic Berserker gear (or the stuff from CoF, same stats) same with my great sword and staff. My jewels are full 80 exotic orichalcum ruby. The rune set on my armor is Superior rune of Scholar, my staff has Superior bloodlust (+10 power per kill) and my staff is superior rune of intel (100% crit chance when switched to in combat)

I look for stats, in this order.
+Power
+crit damage
+Percision.

I Currently have 47% Crit chance. I will post a screenshot of my stats when I get home.

I’ll post a revised 1 when I home from work.

The only thing I have trouble with are OTHER MESMERS lol.

And I love my class choice, you can see by the video how I never stop moving, and having a small little target, with illusions every where is what allows me to win in 1v3, 1v4, 1v5 fights. I also can’t imagen running with any other elite skills then Moa, so the skill doesn’t matter.

Just me running aroud in WvW for a couple minutes. Ever try to figure out who killed you in a 2 second brust? Most likely a Mesmer.

Just me running around in WvW for a little bit, for people thinking about rolling mesmer, I highly recommend it

I run a straight up glass cannon build, all berserker gear (+power, +percision, +crit damage) and use a greatsword and staff.

Be sure to watch in 720p and full screen.
