You should be moving and watching the enemy’s attack patterns. Understanding how the foe attacks and what their animations look like can help you take no damage at all.

True, but unfortunately not always possible. I’ll give you an example (see attachment). I consider myself experienced in online gaming and gaming in general, but with so many spell and skill effects, I cannot see a kitten thing, let alone boss animations (I feel sorry for backstab thieves).

Story modes are the introductory dungeons for new players. The only reason people have to do the explore modes is to get tokens needed for level 80 gear.

Then why does the armor merchant sell lvl 35 armor for tokens?

I’m posting just to say I agree with the original poster. Yes we can learn the new mechanics. Yes we can tweak our skills and tools to have at least 2 stability just to get through the trash mobs (at the cost of other utilities), but the bottom line is the redesign is not more challenging; it’s just a chore. I understand the difference between hard and challenging, but I don’t think the game designers can make the distinction. Look how long is took them to make Orr not such a PITA to navigate, but now they are doing the same to dungeons.
I’m glad I’ve leveled my favorite classes to 80 and have all the equipment from the dungeons that I want. I feel sorry for new players trying to level up and gear themselves in the new state of dungeon runs.
Would it be so difficult to add a HARD mode so that people that want to endure the new mechanics can opt to do so?
Let the people using dungeon runs to level have some breathing room to learn the mechanics without getting downed by OP stuns and huge overlapping AEs and then having to wait for the whole group to fail just so they can rejoin the fight. Where’s the fun in that?
