The gw2 vanilla game is free to play so anyone is able to play it. You having a paid account will be able to play gw2 as you used to without any vanilla restrictions. You will however not be able to play any new content because it is locked behind the expansion.
I also just logged in to support this. I don’t have trouble seeing the red AoE circles but I do have trouble noticing them sometime. However I can’t believe that colourblindness isn’t considered during game design. It would be great if ArenaNet took colourblindness into account from now on.
I find it kinda redundant since we already have Keg-Brawl and Crab toss that has the same game play aspects. It also ends up as just playing basket ball as your gw2 character, not really anything unique or even gw2 themed.
I will try it out some more but the first few minutes of game play already had me bored and wanting to leave.

Got the moth wing glider for my Sylvaris. Now I role-play them as fairies. Just need to convince anet to make the back item dye-able too. So you can try that if you want till the flying hedge comes out.
Sorry, that will never happen. So few countries in Africa have reliable internet on a constant basis and those that have don’t all have a large gaming community. Even in South Africa where I live, many people have access to the internet and it is quite common to meet a gamer, but very few of the gamers you meet play gw2. So maybe you have many friends that play gw2 but as the other posters have pointed out the market for gw2 is too small here to be able to support a server.
The glow on my Sylvaris stay stable when I play on my home pc or laptop so it must be a setting. The graphics settings on my game is turned down low on both my laptop and pc so I assume if you play around with them one will stop the glow from pulsing.
Guild Wars 2 is a very good game. It gives lots of different options to its players and caters almost for every gaming type (within mmo bounds of coarse). The reason for people being so hateful is because the game is so good and they enjoy it thoroughly and then the developers go and destroy the aspects they put time and effort in perfecting. That is why people rage so much on the forums.
If you don’t have a level 80 that has been made before the April patch with a complete personal story you will miss out on tonnes of the game. The April patch made it close to impossible to experience the freedom of swapping between builds of characters and the recent patch (September) has ruined leveling up and the personal story.
New players are seen as stupid and unable to ask for help in the game, so a step by step guide to leveling has been implicated into the game that leave little room for the imagination. The personal story has been level gated thus it flows very badly and may leave players frustrated. The end part has been swopped around and does not make sense anymore.
So if you stay away from leveling characters and the personal story the game is still a very good game. You might want to wait a few weeks though until Anet has removed all the bugs accompanied with the September patch.
China hated it, Anet did nothing. We hate it, Anet isn’t gonna do anything. We can just as well calm down like thread holder said. Nothing is going to come of our objections. GW2 is going to become a pay to win, grind till you bleed game.
Just wait a few months, just as soon as this patch’s problems have been forgotten then WHAM! VIP status. Goodbye noobs! This is a pay to win game now. We don’t want all the cheapskate loosers that don’t spend tonnes of money on our game to do good in it anymore.
I am really annoyed with the new patch Anet has released for GW2 and is considering to quit the game.
I loved character creation and is striving towards having 8 level 80s (one from each profession) and to be a decent player with each profession. Now that Anet has released this patch I do not want to level my characters anymore and having to unlock the story (which I liked repeating) is a drag. My one character that is level 20 has to wait till level 30 before I can play story again because of bad integration of this patch.
Also the compass is annoying the hell out of me! I like playing the game and exploring it, I don’t want something to keep on flashing at me saying I’m doing it wrong when I already have 5 level 80s! Telling a veteran player to learn how to dodge? Really, where is the turn off the tutorial button? Why all this grind just to unlock stuff we had from the start anyway? If I was a new player I would quit GW2 right when I started it. The game is getting boring and tedious.
I was already very annoyed at the fact that you have to grind with each character just to unlock trait skills, were as back in the day you could just buy a tomb and had all off them. Now you have to grind in each aspect of character design and development.
Please, the system is not working for veteran players. For your first character, fine but for ulterior characters no one wants that grind. Please make unlocking of hints, stories, trait skills and everything else account bound. You are really killing the game with these patches. Please also have a turn tutorial off setting which allows you to turn the compass and all the other “helpful” stuff off if you are on your ulterior characters.
Lol, this happened to me a while back in Harathi Hinterlands. It was at the passage that goes underneath the vista by Hangman’s Saddle. I just walked underneath it while 2 other players were murdering centaur and suddenly I fell. There was a huge ocean underneath the map and high up I could see objects floating on a invisible landscape with players and NPC’s running around. Was real creepy. Also, I could swim wherever I liked on the map but couldn’t affect anything on the surface. The ocean was also endless as soon as I tried to dive.
So how does this even work? I have seen tonnes of people waiting but no dolyaks! Do we have to fetch them or do they just appear? It is a real downer that this living story is so bugged.
After the patch we are still not able to complete it. The event icon just vanishes with us not seeing any of the NPCs dead. It may be that they died and the game isn’t indicating it but this happened just after we reached the first 2 NPCs so I can’t think that the others could have already died.
Can the trait system be changed back to the old one? The best park of the game was making a new character, learning the skills and playing around with builds. Now I don’t even want to make new characters anymore because it is to much grind to get new traits. Hope living world is good otherwise I need a new game.
I say Anet should rather never host a WvW tournament that gives meta achievements because it is obviously too complicated for them to give out such rewards to their players.
