I’m glad it’s not just me. I was a bit worried.
I cannot seem to stay connected to the game client. Is anyone else having this issue?
Thank you all for the input. With the information here and what I was given in PM’s I’ll be able to order a good computer.
The help of fellow players is what makes this the best community!
Thanks again!
Hello!
I need a new computer. And I’ve done some looking on ibuypower.com.
I would like any input on what I chose. The maximum I want to spend is $1500.
I don’t know a thing about the components for a computer. I’ve read some of the posts here over time and I feel like I’m reading another language. I am completely stupid when it comes to the inner workings of a computer. I have been told that going with a full size tower and a cooling system is a bonus, but I’ve no idea the difference between the cooling systems. I was also told that having an SSD is better. That is partly the basis of my choices.
What I plan on using the computer for: Obviously Guild Wars. I don’t play any other online games. I still use iTunes (because I’m stuck on it and I like my playlists for certain things). I do the basic on the web, FaceBook, Gmail. I will do some writing (as in stories) as well, so.. not really a lot that I do. But I want this computer to last a long while.
That being said, here is the link: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer-Mage-D245/W/369253
Any feed back is much appreciated.
I’ve looked into builds a bit, so far Elementalist seems the same to me (which in this case is good and bad as I previously enjoyed staff elem in group content), though truthfully I’m a bit hesitant because I never enjoyed Elem in open world content so I never took mine too far, so instead I tried necro a bit, with a few changes and so far I am enjoying it.
Is Dragonhunter viable as a purely ranged class? (In the way that LB/LB ranger aka “Bearbow” was in the past).
On that matter is Rifle/Bow warrior viable? or is it still more of a gimmick spec or are those weapons only really good as backups?
Compared to WoW’s raids, how difficult are the raids in GW2? Are they on par with early progression Mythic content (Very difficult, under 1% of the population can complete/etc)? or more similar to late progression mythic or heroic content? (only moderately difficult, requiring coordination but should be completed by anyone willing to put in the effort).
When I took my elementalist into HoT, I was pretty much getting one shotted by the mobs. It was depressing and not fun. I found a good build and gear suggestion from a video by Wooden Potatoes on the elementalist forms that someone posted. After I got used to the build, she kicks some butt and doesn’t die nearly as often. She’s still a squishy after all. If you like, look me up in game and I’ll be happy to link my gear (it’s only exotics right now) and build for you.
With my Dragonhunter, I use the bow a lot. It is surprisingly high damage. When I feel the need to bash something in, I’ll switch to my melee weapons.
I’ve not looked up warrior builds yet. But I have found out in HoT, it is best to have a good ranged weapon for those Hylek. They do love to shoot poison at you. I’ve heard the same about a rifle build, and I’ll be looking that one up in a few days myself.
And I’ve not raided in HoT, so I can’t compare between this and WoW. WoW raiding soured me on the whole aspect.
Yep. At least it will keep you busy for a while.
Ahh some more good advice. Yeh I did the first couple of chapters of HoT and now it says I need to gain experience to get the glider but it doesn’t actually explain how to do this. Still trying to figure what I need to do exactly. The WvW seems like a good idea also.
In your mastery interface, you need to have the mastery highlighted that you want to train in. You will see the experience bar on that mastery for what you have earned. Each mastery earns it’s own experience. Example: You are earning experience for basic gliding. If you click over to bouncing mushrooms, you will see a different level of experience.
Once your experience bar is filled – gained by doing the story, events and general experience – and if you have enough mastery points, you will see the green star burst highlighted. You click on that to train it. The game automatically chooses the next in line of that mastery to start training you. So, when you earn your basic gliding, you need to switch to bouncing mushrooms – or what ever you choose to train in next.
When you look at the over view of the mastery panel, you will have a golden check mark to show what mastery line you’re earning experience in.
I hope that helps you.
Well, this is a nice thread.
For myself, I’d like someone to help me with completion of Veridant Brink. I do not like heights. Not one bit. I freeze up in that zone all the time. I have plenty of port to friend stones, so I just need someone willing to go to the heights and let me close my eyes and port to you.
I should add I’m on the game week nights after 7:30 Eastern. Weekends in the afternoons/evenings.
Thank you to anyone that’s willing to help.
