Thief been nerfed?

Magic find were replaced so if you had those items you can choose new stats for them.
Crit damage stat was replaced with ferocity and this generally results in lower crit %.
You’ll need to reassign your traits.
Some items, maybe celestial, have been rebalanced.
Runes and sigils have been rebalanced.
You may need to assign stats to a legendary weapon.

So yes your stats will have changed.

Extremely helpful. Thank you. Completely forgot about my traits.

Just started playing guild wars after about 9 month of not playing and I’ve noticed all my stats have been downgraded.

For example, my critical chance has been lowered to 26% but it was around 48% when I left the game?

I’m in a level 80 area to ensure my stats aren’t altered too

FPS Drop when rotating camera

Spinning around once or twice pretty much fixes that problem.

Nope. The FPS stuttering happens when I’m walking too just not as often.

Hi.

When I’m standing still and I rotate my camera, the FPS stutters like crazy. I get around 50 fps standing still then when the stuttering starts, it drops to around 8fps. I’ve done this in multiple areas and the same problem occurs.

Does this happen to anybody else? I have a GTX 770 and its updated to the latest patch. Also my CPU is a 8-core AMD FX8350 (I heard this game can be CPU intensive)

Best 1v1 Build?

PixelPredator.6987

I haven’t played this game for months so I have no idea what the best build is on the current update.

I like to roam on WvW and look for 1v1 situations and I’d like to know what build would be best for this? I looked on the builds on the stickied post but they were posted over 4 months ago and I have no idea if they have been nerfed or not.

Thanks in advance

+1 for this.

It could also help with the bad camera angles when trying to complete a jumping puzzle or inside of a building.

Thief Advice/Tips

Think about what weapons you enjoy the most. GW2 Classes are very dynamic.

My favorite thing about this game is there are no defined “Healers/Tanks/Burst” classes. Some admittably do it better than others but I firmly believe each class is capable of those traditional roles.

Your weapon choice will probably determine the kind of build you want. I personally would never use P/P or S/D if I wanted to focus on condition damage.

So…. What weapon sets do you enjoy?

Well I would prefer dagger and pistol, but what is the most effective combination in a 1v1 situation?

Edit: I also enjoy using a D/D

I’ve just started my thief and I’m in need of a few tips on how to make this thief become successful. What I want to know is what is the most important attribute to a thief? Power, Precision, toughness, vitality or condition damage? Also what would you say is the most important trait I should use my points on?

If you have any more tips or advice, please tell me. Thanks

Thanks

Also, i will be using this thief primarily for WvW and PvP

Ok, so me and my friends have been doing this jumping puzzle for 2 and a half hours…yes, 2 and a half hours on 1 stupid jumping puzzle. So my question is, why do people gain the pleasure of killing other players that are trying to complete this puzzle when you like 5 minutes away from completion? As I am typing, we are currently lay dead on the floor and we are about 5 minutes away from completing it. I honestly haven’t felt so much rage in my life, and I get easily frustrated playing games such as Call of Duty and Fifa. I honestly felt like I was going to burst a blood vessel. I understand that this is meant to be competitive as it is on WvW but seriously? 5 minutes away from completion.

To make matters even worse, we have waited here for about 10 minutes for somebody to revive us only to be meeted with the message “If you do not resume play, you will be kicked in 50 seconds”

Before anybody goes “why did you try to complete the puzzle when its took you over 2 hours to complete it? you are obviously not capable of doing it” well the answer to that is that we had fun avoiding the enemy team while trying to complete it (at the beggining), its the fact that the enemy decided to kill us when we are very near completion that annoys us the most.

And if you are the type of person that kills people on this specific jumping puzzle (while trying to complete it for yourself) , I have a very deep passion of hatred stored inside of me specifically for you.

I don’t know if anybody has suggested this or not but it would be great if we could view our characters through a website so we can share with friends and compare equipment /stats and show off etc.

World of Warcraft has this feature on their website and its great looking at my friends accounts to see how good their player is

Here is a example of what i mean:

Add – Alot more skills to allow more customizable builds
Remove – I may be the only one but the trading post … i used to find it fun trying to sell your items in a city shouting “WTS FIERY SWORD 1K”
Add – Death penaltys … there’s no challenge when you die knowing that you can just run towards the place you died. At least make it so you get a penalty every time you do

The majority of you are taking this scenario to another level. If you are buying a car which costs around £5k+ .. of course you are going to read up about it, It would be stupid not to. There is a massive difference between buying a car, oblivious to what its like, and buying a petty £35 for the PC.

I will no longer post and read on this subject because it was stupid of me to post such a topic that is directed towards the majority of the people that post here.

And to the guy who said he disagrees due to the reason we have access to the internet, that is the stupidest reason I have seen on this topic. I know a few people who very rarely/never go on the internet. According to your logic, everybody should know in detail about every product that are purchasing because we have access to tools like the internet.

So you’re telling me you have never been into the town and bought something without reading up about it? You are implying that everybody who buys a product without reading up about it is a idiot, which is everyone.

What I don’t get is how its the buyers fault for not reading up about the game before buying it. Have you ever considered the amount of people who have bought this game without any knowledge about it? Somebody might of wanted to keep it as a surprise (like me) or some people could of wandered into a shop and seen it on a shelf and thought “This game looks good, I’m going to buy this” .. the answer is no, no you didn’t. Just because some haven’t read up on a game doesn’t mean they cant voice their opinion about it.

This is like going to a shoe store to complain that the pair of shoes you bought there is not a shower. If you choose to ignore what you’re buying, the company is not to blame for it.

That is a stupid example. Their is a difference between buying something that you don’t know what its like and buying something and not knowing that the heck it even is.

I’ve been reading this forum for a couple days now and I have noticed when a person wants to voice his opinion on the game, he gets told that he didn’t read about the game before purchasing it therefore its his fault for not liking it. Here is a quote that caught my eye on a topic that was posted recently -

But you know what? That’s your own fault. Not ArenaNet’s. Not NCSoft’s. Yours. It’s your fault for ignoring the advertising and publicity that was so lovingly crafted to showcase this game.

What game is/was perfect upon launch? None.

Again, what MMO, or even game, is COMPLETELY PERFECT upon release? You know the answer

No game can be completely perfect even if it has been released and worked on for centuries. There is always space to improve

Anyway, there’s plenty of games that had been almost (not completely as its impossible) successful upon launch. One game that comes to mind is Skyrim (if you ignore the glitches which allow you to fall through the fall).

1. Graphics

2. Builds … Everybody feels and plays the same. You don’t have the upper hand if you have a better, well thought-out build because they is none (no healer, tank etc)

I completely agree with OP on this. I miss the times I could make my character a tank or a healer. There is just no specific roles in a team any more and it just feels like nobody has the upper hand in combat because everyone has a similar role.
