is there any way to reverse the spirit weapons as they use to be?
i also want those wings too
actually the games works pretty nice with wine. of course i would love to have a native version for linux. one that is not based on emulators like most of the games for linux on steam. but that is probably too much to ask. for now i use playonlinux which gives a pretty nice experience.
also i would like to be a standalone client that has nothing to do with the steam itself.
@enzo.1475 its not just italy. europe in general has connection problems with US. and it seems is more than just this game.
how do you select eu or na? is that “world selection” button inside the game?
can’t login also
suggestion: instead of posting the map try posting the ip of the server u were on when you had the lag. probably it will be actually useful instead of a map without any relevance.
you can find the ip by typing
/ip

well today i had no problem.
intersting is that according to pingploter between 19:30-22:40 (GMT+2) this specific node l0.milnit1-cr1.bbnplanet.net [195.16.160.17] still had lots of problem. but according to the ping on 206.127.146.44 (one of the gw2 servers) between 20:30-23:40 (GMT+2) i had only 59 packets lost out of 10709. i thought that tracert and ping use the same route. i have no clue how only 59 packet were lost when 1 node on the path to that server was in a bad state. not to mention that i had almost no lag.
@Robert.8206 those 3 lines @the end of your trace route looks so amazing
most of us knows its not the anet servers. but also none of us have any authority to demand a solution to neither anet and certainly to the ‘owners’ of those servers on route to anet.
and yet we still complain about it
the fraternity of the lost packets lol
yupy i manage to login
took my just 10-15 tries
but i manage to login
@Healix.5819
he was referring that the client on our side to work as a tunneling program also. which could be useful for when we have problem with nodes on the routes.
even so you still might end in another node that has problems.
looks like a lot of these nodes have problems. for now im using proxifier to connect to a friend from a different ISP that does not route packets through my normal route.
(edited by Praffy.4091)
@Ms Necronymph.1094 it will be nice to have a tunneling feature incorporated in the game engine
although i’m a bit confused how the software determine the nodes on the network to reach the best results.
@Gambit.8425
i was wondering if a solution like WTFast existed on the market. thanks for the tip.
location romania:
same problem
i think the problem for me is with l0.milnit1-cr1.bbnplanet.net [195.16.160.17] node on the path to gw servers.
on a test a few days ago i had 40% packet loose after 30-40 min of playing/testing. in this period of course i could not play the game. got disconnected twice and had lags all over the place
it starts almost every day around 17-18 GMT and is like that for a few hours. ANET directed me to my ISP with
“Because the loss of data is happening prior to it reaching our game servers, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.”
i’m guessing my ISP won’t do anything either. so these hours i won’t be able to play the game.
Ok, whoever keeps bringing up the “1% Linux Marketshare” should stop now. All of those numbers are misleading. In a world where 98% of laptops and 85-90% of Desktops are all preloaded with either Windows or Mac OS X, then it doesn’t matter if I buy a laptop and put Linux on it, it will STILL count as a Windows/Mac “Marketshare”. I have 3 Computers at home – 1 Linux Media Center, 1 Windows “Steam Box”/Media Center, and one Laptop running both Linux and Windows. Not a single one of those counts as a “Linux” share because….. Windows came with them. The Marketshare % doesn’t give accurate details any more then the Humble Bundle Numbers (that default to whatever OS you purchase the bundle on – since I do so at work a lot, it shows as windows, though I install most on Linux)
Market share isn’t always counted from sales. There is a service that looks at about 5000 websites, that sees the information from 33+ million users and can see what OS they are using, there you will see that Linux is used less then 2% out of that 33 million users, and there is more then 1 service like that out there.
There there is Steam, it shows about 2% of their users use Linux.
About steam and linux and that 2%…
have you seen the games that steam has for linux??
MOST OF THEM ARE CRAP
my brain started to melt when i had a look @those games
wtf
of course there is only 2% of linux users on steam since there is almost no game to choose to play.
and i had a look @that list of games from steam on linux yesterday…..
and yes i want a linux version of guild wars2.
wine in full screen goes up to 10-15 fps . with the very same settings in windows i have 20-25 fps…Well i have an hd 4000 (ivy bridge) card so i dont expect much from it..but still 10-15 fps in linux is lame.
