I agree. Can’t say I care much about PvE since I spend all my GW2 time in the the mists, but the issue goes, to some point at least, for PvP as well.

The game simply doesn’t reward clever play and good timing. Take engineer for example, since that is what I play most. There are a lot of nifty tricks you can pull, blast finishers in your smoke field to stealth at the right moment, double/triple blast water fields and a lot of other ways that would require some experience to pull off.. the game simply does not reward this type of play as 9.5 times out of ten it would have been better to just spam whatever damaging skills you have and hope your opponent goes down before you do.

In essence, the game rewards mindless spamming when it should reward full utilization of a profession.

Switching a random player to the losing team.

Letting people leave the battlegrounds at any time with no penalty is great, but something that seems very unfair in GW2 is how a random player gets transferred to the other team to “balance” the number of players – especially when it happens late-game when there is no chance of turning it around.

You’d play for one team, doing what you can to capture bases and whatever, only to get transferred at the very end of the game. You end up on a team that is far behind with only minutes left until the team you started on wins. Thus robbing you of the extra win points and the win (say for people concerned with their stats, achievements etc.) Does not seem fair, fighting hard to get you in the lead, only to get transferred (usually because people abandon ship when it’s a given loss)

I’m fairly certain that most sane people would find it frustrating being on the winning team and then getting randomly selected – given that the teams were balanced to begin with – this is simply not fair.
