Couldn’t find the best place to ask this really.
I’d like some clarification on what is allowed with the game.

My Guild has recently moved to a German server to get better matchups during WvW, and being English speakers, communication is now not ideal (but the gameplay is better )

I have just (past 30 minutes) thrown together a pretty simply application in C# which Translates the text via google translate, Sets it as the current clipboard text entry, then PInvokes the C++ postMessage class to auto post this into the chat box in the game.

I’d like to know if this is allowed.
The last thing I want is for my account to be banned as I plan on using this next week in map chat.

There are 3 actions, Enter Key press, Control + V Paste, And Enter Key Press.

It gives a player no extra advantage over another, just makes it faster to communicate without having to alt tab / copy and paste of a second screen.

Just to let people know, as well as the new formula taking rounds won into account, we are also implementing ELO decay similar to league of legends pre-season 2.

This means after a few weeks of not playing – your ELO will start to drop, at a steady rate per week until you play another game, and log your scores.

Your gonna have to fight for you right to call yourselves Number 1

We are 100% on track for a launch before this coming reset.

Since the closure of GW2GVG.com, the community has started to die.

Myself, and Melcus, members of Semper Dius have been hard at work producing a community site to bring everyone together, as well as a replacement site for GW2GVG.com

Today we have published the forum system, with a plan to launch the site next weekend.

The actual GvG site will allow custom challenges to take place, and ranks your guild using the ELO ranking system (Think Chess, League of legends Etc).

Rb Rating on the leaderboards for team B
Ra Rating on the leaderboards for team A
Ea Expected score for team A
RaN New rating Team A
K A constant variable of 15.
Sa This is a 1 for the team that won, and a 0 for the team that lost.

Using the above we can produce two formulae
Ea = 1/[1+10(Rb-Ra)/400]
and
RaN = Ra+k(Sa-Ea)
Keeping it short, beating a high ranked guild will give you a higher rating than beating a low ranked guild.

To submit a score, you must also post a link to the game on Twitch / a Youtube link (listed or unlisted. It doesn’t matter).
This is to ensure the scores are accurate, and to keep the community happy.

If a video cannot be posted, for whatever reason, then you are free use the discussion box on the Game page to post the result.
This result will only be recorded when BOTH Guild leaders confirm the result.

As I state above, we still have minor work to do on the system, and as such are only launching the forum today. The rest, Hopefully next week.
I’m a full time .Net developer so this is a project produced in my downtime and between raids (Lol).

You have have a Dynamic IP from your ISP.
This means that every time your router is restarted, it will get a different IP address.

The opposite of this is a Static IP, where each time you connect to the internet (router restart) your IP address remains the same.

And now the countdown timer has started on Character Slot. 22 hours left :/

Same here. Doesn’t work on my pc at home, nor my pc at work.

I have 2 2k codes to redeem, and wanna get a character slot while still on offer.
I submitted a ticket last night

Cannot redeem a gem code on the gem store.
Clicking the redeem button, and the buy gems button does absolutely nothing at all.
Its like no button click event is assigned to it.

Kinda want to get another character slot while they are still on offer. I have my code :/

Same here. It seems to have taken my highest and used that for all characters.
Also – My PVP did exactly the same thing. Used the highest – not cumulative – total :/

Yes – I can accept that. Sorry for the post really, but I wanted to give someone a piece of my mind after they “cheesed” me off last night. Alcohol is a hell of a drug

But, if the game has a profanity filter, which can be enabled / disabled at anytime…..
Why do you ban / suspend people for bad language?

Surely, it is in the hands of the player to block language he doesn’t agree with. Not go crying to ANet because he got called “bad names”?

And – before people start, Yes I have read the agreement, and no I haven’t been banned or suspended, But I just don’t get it?

Why is the rule there in the first place?

Are you the oppressors that seem it fit to infringe upon the civil liberties of me, and every other sovereign human being that play the game (and Asurans)?

Is it not in our god given right to put pretentious, arrogant, toxic players in their places?

I’m just sick of people in WvW and PVP whispering about crying because they got beaten, and threatening reports. I’ve only lost it one or twice with these people, but its like I could lose my account any time because of it.

Arena.Net were once quoted saying they are not game makers, but community makers. I thought that worked both ways?
We accept your terms, so why don’t you accept us for who we are?

Yeah – slightly off my question there… So – what exactly is the point of the profanity filter?
Because it seems pretty kitten useless if people will just get banned anyway.
