Honestly what is the problem with what you describe? You just want no classes with range? Just move out of the way, don’t suck your thumb if there is a blob infront of you. Sounds like your commander isn’t very good tbh.

I agree, and it looks a hundred times better than any other WvW map – but why does nobody want to go there?

I’m glad that you all have such high praise about the community. I truly hope that I was simply unfortunate in my encounters, I’m going to hold out on my opinion for longer, hopefully I’ll see more positivity. I should say that I did make friends with a nice guild, and that’s been really great. I hope to come back to this forum one day with a more positive outlook. Thank you.

This has just been my experience as a returning (but still fresh-faced) player. In all game modes, there are people screaming at new players, becoming frustrated with them for not having optimal build, for not knowing things they couldn’t possibly know (sometimes the game does a poor job of making certain things clear, some things you only learn from failing), having a horrible and rude attitude in general, never making an effort to be polite.

This game so far for me has had a truly awful community. And you’re putting off new players, if you’re one of the people who are like this. I saw firsthand a player in Verdant Brink asking for some advice on the meta event and what to do, and three people joined in mocking him, and saying unhelpful things like “are you serious”.

This game will die with that attitude. You should encourage and be polite and helpful to players who seem new when you can. I just think it’s a huge shame, I love this game but it actually feels depressing half the time, when I see how insufferable and rude people can actually be.

Yeah this was a problem for me today and I had a fairly awful experience. I previously wasn’t sure what the tactivators did, having only been going at WvW for a week or so, but I knew at least, to just leave them the hell alone and had planned to wiki it at some point. But I let my young sibling on my account briefly today while I was out of the room, and told him he could go and find some enemy players to try and kill if he wanted. Five minutes later, he saw the levers and pulled them all and I got flamed into the ground for it. Even worse is that when trying to explain what had happened, people called me out for being a liar, and even said I was working against the server.

Needless to say, I think more control and restrictions should be put on the tactivators so a similar thing doesn’t happen to others. Now I’m discouraged from WvW for such a silly series of events because a whole bunch of people on my server have taken a disliking to me for doing it.

And I want to say, I hope people will have more forgiveness in their hearts. We’re not all trolls who are trying to mess things up.

Recently returned to the game and I’m holding off on buying HoT/PoF as a bundle for now until I’m sure I want to return. However I’m very limited in what I can do, so I’ve been doing world completion of the core zones. I’m getting quite a fair bit of rollover xp for this, and I previously thought that the xp bar vanished when you hit 80 instead of rolling over. My question is, are the experience points I’m earning being “saved” somehow and they’ll convert to mastery points when I start HoT? Just feels like I’m wasting my effort at this point.

I’ve tweaked endlessly, and tried multiple wireless adapters to rule out a dodgy wifi receiver. I understand Windows XP isn’t ideal, but it’s stable for me.

Hiya folks.

I’m a new player after having just recently purchased Guild Wars 2, and I’m so frustrated because the game is rendered unplayable by rubberbanding and lag. It seems that once I’ve logged into the game and started up a character, I’m almost immediately struggling to maintain some sort of connection. My FPS is fine, and as I move my character around I cannot attack enemies, activate skills, or talk to NPCs. The game acts as though it is offline, despite allowing me to explore it. It stays like this almost indefinitely. On rare occasions I’ll get a single moment when I can play the game normally, albeit this lasts for literally 3 minutes or so.

My internet’s fine, I regularly download things at 1/2Mbps on P2P etc.
Computer hardware’s certainly not the latest but is above minimum specs and FPS is smooth on lowest graphical settings. I use WiFi not ethernet cable but it is reasonably stable.

I play on Aurora Glade server for any difference it makes. Sorry for any info I’ve not provided, I’ll do so on request and thank you in advance for any help.
