I really don’t hate the game. With HoT we just got more content. But… yes there is a but..

The grinding in HoT is taking all the fun out of the game (story). I follow Woodenpotatoes on YouTube. In one video he says:

“I am going to spoil.. if you really care about the story you already played it!”.

He’s got a point there but I’m not very far in the HoT story because of the mastery grinding.. For every story mission I have to have a certain mastery to continue… This reminds me of the World of Warcraft episode of South Park..

But this is really my only complaint. I really love the setting of HoT! And common! Gliding! I only have the basic gliding (because of mastery grind) but I really love it!

Totally agree! The reward is much more satisfying when you have to work for it! Makes the game a lot more fun!

I’m happy with this.

For 50$ we get:
- New area to cover
- New story
- New profession to play
- Character slot for the new profession.
- Gliders
- Guild Halls
- And more

Come on Anet, give us a signal!

I see a lot of reactions of: “If HoT was $50,- for only the expansion, people wouldn’t complain”.

That’s true!

But here is the big difference: Rather you are a new player or a veteran, you pay $50,- but as a new player you get the core game. As a veteran you already have the core game so u only get the expansion. No substitutes for veteran players. So this is really unfair to the veterans..

I’m really curious what this does to aNet. Since the prices of the pre-orders where available the internet explodes.

I really hope that the’re scratching the back of their heads at this point but I’m afraid that they won’t change this..

The worst part is that I really want to play HoT and I’m 95% certain I will buy it but if this continues with the expansions that will follow, I won’t be sticking around long..

Played this game since the first public beta.. fully support Arenanet since Guild Wars 1 en bought every expansion since.. (CE if possible).

But now they do this.. Why do I have to buy the core game again? I want to play HoT and the Revenant.

Ok, you get more than only access to HoT. You get the new Revenant class (which I can’t play since I have no slots left), a new area to cover, gliders and more.

But I get the feeling Arenanet supports new players more than veterans that play since the beginning of GW1..

Please Arenanet, make a HoT version only with a character slot and maybe something else like the glider skin for players who already have GW1.

I would love to see a dragon pet! (A small one, the size of a moa bird).
