I’d like it. I mean the quick and dirty fix is to just clear your target so you can manually aim, but then I sometimes accidentally target something and it’s just a mess.
It works, but as you said not very well. Considering you can target virtually anything it can be quite the pain at times to find an empty spot to click to clear your target. This is especially the case in big meta events where there are lots of people, creatures, placeables, and materials.
That’s not even to mention the fact that now you’re fighting “blind”. I like to watch my targets conditions/boons/break bar/health/etc.
A must have for engineers! …Sometimes! This option lets you lock your ground target abilities (like grenades) to your current target instead of at your cursor’s location.
I love this amazing feature, but I’d like to request a minor mechanical change to it.
For those that don’t know about it. There are 2 settings for it
General Options Menu > Combat/Movement > Snap Ground Target to Current Target. It simply turns it on or off.
The other option is to press and HOLD a key under the Control Options > Targeting > Snap Ground Target.
My issue is with the “press and HOLD” to turn it on/off. It should just be a one time key press to toggle on/off.
If the target is stationary I’d leave it on. However, if the target is moving or if there are multiple targets spread out, I want it turned off so I can better optimize the aoe. When they’re moving it doesn’t anticipate where the target will be, it just targets their current location, missing entirely by the time it hits the ground.
The problem is I can’t justify pressing and holding down an extra key for that extended period of time, potentially through an entire encounter. As is, playing an engineer is like playing heavy metal on a piano.
Changing the option under the Controls from a press and hold to a press once to toggle would be infinitely better in my opinion.
Thoughts?

Same here. Was banned, but waited 10 minutes to browse the forums in hopes to find out why. I can now sign back in. Maps all fixed as well! WOO! Ty Devs! Just wish they didn’t send out free heart attacks with with the “Banned for EULA! Permanently!”. Wouldn’t have hurt to change the message or to do it at like 4 in the morning.
