Hey there. I’m always frustrated at ArenaNet for them leaving too many details up for interpretation within the achievement menus. Yes, I did read the forum post, but that only points in the general direction of where to start. I’m not the only one, because when asking these questions, not many people know the answer in map chat.
Saving all my hate speech against ArenaNet’s awful presentation techniques, I have some basic questions that I would be greatly appreciated if someone answered:
- Champion of ______ (Variant for each area) achievement.
"Escort (Norn/Human/Etc.) emissaries to hot-balloons" and then gives a kill count. Already this is confusing enough, but to the question! Do these kills need to be obtained during the escort missions only (if so, that is absurd) or is the title misleading and the kills can be recorded during other balloon-related events?
- Balloon Tower Tourist achievement.
I love this achievement, but it’s either broken for me or there’s a special requirement. Sometimes when walking up to new towers, the chest will already be open and the achievement does not register whenever I ride the balloon to D’s Reach. What are you supposed to get the achievement to registrar?
- Champion of _____ (Crown/Black Citadel/etc.) achievement.
This one really confuses me. I think I’m expecting too much from Guild Wars 2. So I understand that the Pavilion is basically a farmhouse for champion loot. The achievement says to get kills while representing that faction, but there’s not enough achievements to the available factions you can represent while you sit at your computer for three hours getting these 400 something total kills. Is this meant to be? So I can get my kills for the Crown and Black Citadel and not even worry about representing Kryta and other non-specified-in-the-achievement factions?
Hi everyone,
We understand the frustration about not having enough notice to claim the achievement. The original date given for the Epilogue was incorrect, and while we corrected date in forum posts and on the website, some did not see the updated information or have the time to collect that achievement.
We will put the bonfires back in the game tomorrow, sometime during ArenaNet office hours, so players who missed out can get the Rallying Flame achievement. The bonfires will not give any buffs, however.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
EDIT: The bonfires will remain in-game until May 28.
I’m not cheering just yet. I don’t see a bonfire up in any of the three cities mentioned in the achievement description.
EDIT: What I mean by the bonfire not being up is that it is only in Hoelbrak, but you cannot interact with it.

If you don’t know what’s with all the A Rallying Flame posts, let me explain in breath-taking detail:
- Flame and Frost achievement “A Rallying Flame” announced to be on May 16th in a guide.
- May 16th suddenly changed to May 14th; ArenaNet fails to notify players of the date correction (which shouldn’t have occurred in the first place).
So thank you ArenaNet, for continuing to soil your reputation to us MMO noobies. It’s hard enough trying to understand a game with the worst entrance gameplay in video game history, let alone trying to figure out what to do with muddy instructions for achievements when you guys can’t even get a date right.
From all the noobs you screwed over,
Hot glue your nipples to a car tire.
“You don’t understand Quasi, they have lives and jobs. People make mistakes.”
You’re right. They’re job is maintain and provide new content for Guild Wars 2. When people make mistakes, they fix it. In this case, they (ArenaNet) should rollback to hold out on their original plan since they failed to make an effective attempt at notifying players of their mistakes.
“You’re just raging, you kid. It’s only a game; calm down.”
It is a game; good observation. Raging? No. Upset? Yes. I looked forward to seeing the epilogue of the Living Story played out and I’m disappointed it’s no longer, especially at the fault of a date error.
“It’s only an achievement.”
Not just that but a resolution of the story line. Some people, like me, are OCD for this stuff. I need to have all the achievements for a story. I need to see it through to the end. ArenaNet screwing up the ending date means I can no longer get the achievement, meaning I now have a huge feeling similar to holding back a sneeze.
Hey! I’m looking for a friendly active guild just like the next guy. I will be representing this chosen guild at all times and I am an active player. I would preferably like only a casual guild, with event hosting optional for its members. The guild roster count does not matter to me that much. I would just like the quality of the guild to be exceptional.
I’ll be very straight to the point.
I’m interested in your guild if…
+ Mature; at least in the upper ranks.
+ Stable guild management.
+ Friendly and enjoyable community.
+ Active, but not demanding.
+ Hosts optional events regularly.
What I do not care about…
+ Guild size.
+ Whether or not guild has a website.
+ Guild home server.
+ WvW or PvP events.
I will be discouraged if…
- Guild rank titles are silly names (e.g., “Boss Dude,” “One,” “Yolo Swag Captain”)
- Everyone is one rank.
- The Message of the Day is childish.
I care about what I will represent. Do not even bother inviting me to your guild if…
- The guild name is not serious (e.g., “Sons of Swag,” “Noobs of the Shiverpeak,” “Mashed Potatoes”) I will make exceptions, such as something like “Dreamweaver’s Guide to Tyria.”
- The guild tag is silly and/or stupid (“WIN,” “NOOB,” “PWN,” “LoL”)
Thank you for taking the time reading this and considering inviting me to your guild! You can reply to this post or send me a mail message in-game. Thanks! :)
