Unable to Complete any Skill Challenges

Radium.5019

I am unable to complete Skill Challenges. I click on the Skill Challenge and nothing happens I just get quest txt appear. Also they don’t appear on my map. This happens on all Challenges I have come across so far. I’ve logged in and out no change. I’ve asked other people and they click on the challenge and gain the skill yet I do not.

Does anyone else have this problem or know a fix because I am unable to gain skill points because of it.

I have the exact problem the OP stated. Only started for me 2 days ago though!

Latency issue GW2 ONLY!

For the last two days I’ve been experiencing massive lag spikes for long periods of time! I run speed tests on my internet speed and my ping and speed are both fine and other internet based games run fine no lag. GW2 However seems to spaz out at random. Disconnects me from server / Dungeons are impossible to play events become pointless. Again all this started about two days ago before then the game was fine. It’s not my internet otherwise other games / Ping drop in internet speed would show on my speed tests.

Are there server problems at the moment? Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem as me?

I said this upgrade wsnt just for gw2 that would be stupid paying over £600 to play just 1 game. There are a few more games i’m looking forward to playing this year and Final Fantasy a realm reborn is one of them. Thanks to being a Legacy member i have guaranteed beta access that starts next month.

Ok so this is my build with hardware links. So far I have been able to run any game I’ve come across at max setting 60fps no problem. GW2 however runs extremely badly and always has since its release. I get no more than 30fps and changing in game settings or NVidia control panel settings makes no difference at all. I’ve asked around in my guild and there are people with worse builds than mine that get a full 60fps with out having to tweak anything.

Please what am I doing wrong? I don’t understand why I can play new latest games no problem but GW2 runs bad! Enclosed pic of in game settings.

I have an issue where if i load up the Trading Post the txt in the window seems warped and i find it hard to read. Its like the window has been stretched and not put back to the way it was leaving the txt inside the window corrupted.

Yes iv’e reinstalled the game updated drivers and so on. My PC has no problems with other games and the rest of GW2 displays txt just fine its only in the trading post window. Video settings are Default, Rezolution is 1920×1080. It used to display correctly its been a few weeks since i last played and now it does this.

I dont understand why i should have to overclock my CPU just for gw2 when the game rarely uses 20% of it!

What you just said was pointless. explain to us why i and others can run any high end game on the planet at max with no problem but have to run through fired hoops to run a low spec game like gw2?

Your “support ticket’s” are a joke we send you data about our systems that far exceed the requirments for your game only to get a reply saying update your graphics driver. As if to say we understand you all have kick kitten machines and can run anygame on the planet but please update your graphics driver and you will be able to run our DX9 based game no problem.

Thank you Dacooli. I tend to agree with you that the problem lies in the game itself.

Thank’s for your tip’s and tweak’s. But i must confess im in the dark when it comes to overclocking and stay away from it as i dont want to cause any damage to my system. Also i do not see the need to change anything when all other games run better than fine just to run a single game.

However i do like this game very much and am willing to try anything. If any of you could point me in the right direction of how to overclock my CPU safely please post.

Ok this is my Build.

AMD Athlon II x4 651 Quad Core Processor
ATI Radeon HD 6970 2GB DDR5 RAM
8 GB G-Skill Ripjaw 1600 DDR3 Ram
XFX 1000 Watt PSU
Windows 7 x64 OS

Up until now my computer has been able to handle any game on the market on full settings without breaking a sweet. Guild Wars 2 however performs very badly and I don’t understand why. The graphics engine for Guild Wars 2 is the same as Guild Wars 1 made 7 years ago so why does it perform so badly?

I run Guild Wars 2 and see that the game never uses more than 40% of my GPU and 20% of my CPU even in Boss fights and PVP. However when in normal PVE going around doing events my frame rate changes between 50-25 often drastically changing from high to low.

I’ve played around with the in game settings and that seems to make no difference at all and my CCC is set to default settings. I’ve tried different drivers again this made no difference and even a fresh format and reload of my OS.

I doubt it’s my Computers Spec as it far exceeds the game requirements. If my computer was bottle necked in anyway then I would have problems with other games as well not just Guild Wars 2.

I’ve browsed a few posts about game performance and found I’m not the only one who has game performance issues. I did open a ticket with support asking for help and all I got from them was a message saying “Please make sure you have the latest driver installed” lol took to weeks for that awesome peace of information.

This game should be running at 60fps no matter what I’m doing in game. I can only conclude that the games optimisation is not complete since I have no problem running any other game.

Please does anyone else have this problem? If so do you know how to fix it or have any tips I could try that I haven’t already? Or does anybody know if Anet plan further optimisations in the future?

Please Mr DEV read this and give me some Technical support.
