Now that ArenaNet has announced that they will be making a Mac OS X client of Guild wars 2 do you guys think we might see a Linux client down the road? Assuming that ANet will code the graphics of GW2 for OpenGL to better support the Mac, the threshold of porting the client to Linux becomes smaller since the OpenGL code, as I understand it, is universal across different operating systems (with some different libraries here and there but the system calls are similar).
I’m asking this because I have a dual boot on my computer and would love to see something as big as Guild wars 2 come on Linux. If you guys think about it, Valve did something similar, first announcing steam and source engine on Mac and now quite recently on Linux as well. I understand if this isn’t in ArenaNet’s interests at this time but one can always hope .
Let’s keep this discussion as civil as possible so please,no “That os is bad” type of discussion.
Let me know what you guys think.
Has anyone been able to find out if all of the armor sets you see in character creation are obtainable in-game or if some of them are just for show? Some of the sets seem to be cultural sets (human guardian for example) but I can’t say for sure if all of them are and I just haven’t found the vendor selling them.
What I’ve found is that at least the elementalist, ranger(?), necro and guardian have the character creation set available via cultural armor of their race but professions like the mesmer have a set I’ve yet to see in-game.
Post your thoughts and findings here.
