Oh, would be so awesome to have a D/D Ranger available for especially close encounters. Or bring a rifle to the table would be also quite nice to have an ultimate ranged proffession.

Also, what about shield in offhand?

race for a ranger?

Hey,

I figured I wan’t to make a ranger and simply do some casual play, with some raids and higher tier fractals in mind as well. In any case, I want to make a Ranger, but I have troubles of deciding upon a race. I have currently two rangers lvl 49 – sylvari and human. I figure that sylvary looks awesome witht he cultural armor and they blend in the environment quite a bit. But humans look natural and human.

If you have any thing to say which race you prefer and why for your ranger. Please do so!

Great topic!

yeah, at some point leveling turns into a chore :P But, considering you can get skill tomes easily, it’s not such a pain in the leg as it was 2 years ago.

Hey!

This problem is as old as the GW2. I am really impressed that this hasn’t been solved and nothing seems to be done for this matter. It’s maybe hard to see in the screens, but Sneakthief’ shoulders are floating in the air for male sylvari characters. One of the reasons why I don’t own one..

Is there a real reson for this not being fixed?

Classes in 2016: Most and least boring.

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

As most fun to play – Thief, hands down. It has so much mobility and is super squishy. You have to pay good attention to what you are doing all the time, no matter what you are doing (PvP, WvW, PvE). Also the damage output is super sweet, its always nice to see enemies go down in seconds without any previous preperation (i.e. stacking might).

Most boring one.. mm.. have to go with a Guardian. To me the gameplay simply does not appeal as much. They seem sluggish and slow.

White light flashing when viewing Vistas

Hey!

Not a bug or a real technical issue. But I didn’t know where could I pitch this idea.

Basically when you view a Vista your screen flashes with a very bright white light. This has been haunting me for years already. If I am playing in the evening and not a fully lit room, this white screen kinda flashes me. My eyes get tired and it is simply a discomfort. Also, it is not skippable and you can’t adjust it in the options menu.

Thus, I would like to /sign for dimming the white screen animation upon vista viewing.

Who is with me!?

Guardian or Necro

Definitely Necromancer — especially Reaper.

Dragonhunter has a bigger “punch” than Reaper, but Reaper has a larger healthpool and is more desired in end-game content (often due to Epidemic).

hah yeah! I kind of see/hear that. But will the reaper stay as good as it is? It won’t be the case that in couple of months ANet will decide to simply nerf it back to the middle ages?

Guardian or Necro

’ello!

Basically, I have been maining a thief and as my secondary toon I have a ranger. Thief is cool and all, but after HoT I started to dislike rangers. Don’t know why, but simply it does not feel like the class is moving in the right direction. That being said, I want to start a new sidekick toon. And currently I can’t choose between Guardian and Necromancer.

Note, I am not a high end player. Highest fractal I did was level 50 and I have never done raids. However, I would like to do them. Therefore the question, which of the two classes has more perspective in terms of end game. Which class has less difficulties in adjusting to high level bosses (large health pool, armor, and a punch).

Any input will be appreciated!

Thanks!

Sudden drop in FPS

Ok, ping is back to normal and my fps is back to normal as well. Apparentl high latency can influence your fps.

Peace!

yeah, I read that people have problems with servers. That would probably explain the latency. But are ping and fps in any way related? I think it might be a different problem, maybe some incompatability with other software or something. However, I havent installed anything and no updates have been installed as well..

Sudden drop in FPS

I’ve been playing GW2 for past couple of weeks on this machine and everything was more or less fine. The fps is usually around kitten ( i play on low settings ). Last night I was playing and everything went fine – as ususal. However, today the loading times have increased exponentially and fps has dropped to 10-15. Ping, normally sits at 60-70, and today it is around 90-100. Note, that these measurements were more or less consistent in denser areas, therefore, changing cities or areas does not influence the output.

I am now wondering if the massive drop in FPS is due to my network connection (can high latency even cause drop of frame rate) or something else is responsible for this. Has there been an update last night that increases the system requirements, compatablity or something?

Thanks!

Legendary crafting

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

RagiNagi.1802

Hey!

Basically, after couple of years in game and not owning a legendary, I have decided that it is finally time for me to undertake the journey of crafting one.

As far as I understand there are scavenger hunts that need to be completed now. But what are the costs attached to it nowadays? Do I need to max out my scribe crafting? That is a biggie, around 400g for that. Also, a stack of every t6 material is required for each weapon?

Basically, I want to inquire on how much it would cost me to reach a legendary (the ones I am thinking of is Bolt, Incinerator, or Hope).

If you guys have any tricks/tips/advice for my journey, maybe time estimation (if starting from 0) and other important notes. Let me know!

Thanks!

Problems with HOT activation

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: RagiNagi.1802

RagiNagi.1802

So basically today I purchased a HOT cd-key from one of the official retailers (in The Netherlands) and I can’t seem to activate the code.

The issue is as follows:

Whenever I try to activate the code, I get the red triangle next to it (see attachment). And a message that says that the serial code is not recognized by the system. This is very odd to me. At first I thought that this issue has to do something with the region I am registered in, on the Arena net profile overview it states that my region is North America. But all of my code purchases I have made within Europe (from official distributors) and I have always been playing on European servers. Also as far as I understand, there should be no classification of codes between EU/NA servers. They should work nonetheless.

If anyone has encountered a similair problem or has an idea how to solve this, I would be really grateful!

Thanks

gw2 runs slow on a new pc

in Account & Technical Support

RagiNagi.1802

Hey!

So basically I got a new pc yesterday. Installed a new windows 7 version and installed all the missing drivers showing on the control panel. First thing I did was downloading GW2 client. And to my surprise the game runs awfully. I manage to get about 12-15 fps and experience a massive lag (average ping is about 1000). All the graphical options are reduced to minimum, and the internet connection is good. I can easily play from my other pc.

I believe I might have installed some drivers in the wrong order or something. Of course my laptop is not a gaming station, but it should handle Guild Wars 2 client.

Specs: Nvidia 920m
4gb of Ram
i5-5200u @ 2.2Ghz
Windows 7 SP1

Any advice would be golden!

Thanks!
