Idea for character birthdays

Okay, so lets limit it to the age of the account. So, every 12 months, you recieve an account-bound one-use golden ticket that can be exchanged for any skin that is available at the black lion weapon specialist. Also, skins that are purchased with the golden-ticket can’t be traded or sold.

Other ideas as to how this system should be limited or expanded?

Idea for character birthdays

Hello everyone and a good day/evening.

Most of the people who played GW1 probably know that the characters had birthdays, and whenever the character grew one year older, he would recieve a present.

See the wiki entry about it if you want to learn more: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Birthday_Present

My proposal for the birthdays in Guild Wars 2 is the following. Additionally or instead of rewarding the player with a present that rewards you with a random pet or tonic, you would recieve a golden ticket, this ticket can be used once in exchange for every skin that is currently available in the game. That way, you could get that one skin you really wanted, even if you missed out on it because you weren’t lucky enough with the RNG game or you simply missed the event.

What do you guys/gals think?

Thanks for taking your time to read this, you are awesome!

GPU underclocking while playing

You could always check the temperatures while playing the game to see if your card reaches critical values and because of that starts to downclock. Another thing would be to check if there are any energy saving mechanisms in place that might cause that phenomenon that you are experiencing. I sadly don’t have any experience with AMD cards but NVidia has a power management feature in the driver options that can be either set to ‘Adaptive’ or ‘Prefer Maximum Performance’, maybe AMD cards have something similar to that? Aside from that, maybe trying to update the drivers to a newer/older version could help, but as I’ve established before, I have no experience what so ever with AMD cards, so I’m not really qualified to talk about that kind of stuff.

Maybe someone else has some better ideas or overall is just more knowledgeable in that regard, but thats all I can think of right now.

Good luck!

I know the title is not really that informative or direct, but I have no idea how to describe this problem in just a few words.

First of all, my specs:

Asus P8P67 Rev 3.1
Intel i5 2500k @4GHz
EVGA GTX 570
8GB Corsair XMS3

Audio is onboard.

RealtekĀ® ALC 892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC
ver 6.0.1.6235 [02.11.2010]
24 Bit, 48000 Hz

Audio ingame settings:

Sound Quality: Highest Quality
Mixing Buffer Size: Lowest Latency (the problem occured on both ‘Lowest Latency’ and ‘Most Stable’)

The problem itself:

The problem itself is pretty much explained in the title, all sounds disappear, all that remains is a loud background noise. I sadly do not know what is causing it, my guess would be since it only happend in very crowded places (two times fighting Tequatl the Sunless and one time just now fighting Claw of Jormag) that too many sound samples are played at once and that it somehow causes that problem.

Only way to stop the problem at the moment is to restart the game, otherwise the noise will just continue to loop in the background.
