I would throw down $50 if it helped, I really would

I mained as a thief for a long time, and I was having extremely difficult time winning fights. I would usually try to gank the stray person in wvw every now and then but most of the time I would simply ignore duels. This went on since I first started playing GW2 and my main focus became WvW. Only recently did I realize that I have a constant 200-250ms ping to GW2. This is the only game that I’ve ever played in my 10 years of pc gaming that I’ve had such bad lag, and I’m thinking that it’s the reason why I suck so bad at PvP. I mean, without the lag I wouldn’t be an amazing PvP’er or anything but I think I would win at least one fight, ya know? Maybe you’re having the same problem

So I just recently discovered that the entire time I had been playing GW2 i was doing it with an average constant 300 ms latency, which I have tested and confirmed to not be on my end, and I am not being throttled by my ISP. I guess this kinda explains why I was having so much trouble winning certain fights :P. On any other MMO that I’ve ever played or any online game in general, I’ve never had this bad of lag before.

Could it be the server I play on is just laggy in general? I’ve been on Jade Quarry.

Whelp after 5 level 80 characters and about a thousand hours of gametime I’ve decided I no longer want to play this game.

The last 5 months WvW has been the only thing to keep my interest and the constant 2v1’s are just killing the fun for me. It doesn’t matter if we’re on the winning or losing side and the latest update was pretty much the final blow.

I wanna say goodbye to all of you, and I hope whomever reads this topic that still plays has fun and enjoys the game longer than I did.

Just BG cheating some more, as if it isn’t obvious enough that they can’t win legitimately and need to either use glitches or bribe servers into a 2v1 for victory

• What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
  Skills not executing when you press the key; Extreme rubberbanding when using skills that teleport you/move you over distances

• Skill lag, rubber-banding, etc.
  Skill Lag, Rubber-banding, crashes

• What server are you on?
  Jade Quarry

• Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
  As far as I’m aware when it gets laggy, everyone on the entire map is lagging.

• Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
  Usually the lag is map-wide, but in some instances it’s only in specific areas, say Stonemist Castle.

• Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
  The lag hits the hardest when there are big zerg fights. Sometimes lasting for 15 minutes after the fight ends if there is a massive 3-way.

The more players, the worse the lag. It’s usually fine up until we get into the 40-50 players per zerg.

Everyone hating on me and my main

Can’t beat a thief, play one and discover the weaknesses. You’ll be astonished by how many times you can easily get roflstomped. I’ve played a warrior and I can literally just smash my face on my keyboard and win fights.

Being a thief requires much more skill, and is much more rewarding if you play it well. And when people encounter someone who can play it well, they come to forums and complain

Cuz you know, there’s no problem with the current matchups….

It’s getting to the point where the game is unplayable while in combat, starting to regret my purchase since I can’t really do anything..

I just made a thread about this, only started recently for me also. You guys aren’t the only ones, so we know it’s not on our end. I play on US server

Whenever I engage in a fight whether it be another player in WvW or a mob, I get a 1-2 second delay on my skills and things start to teleport around making effective combat impossible. This has only started recently, I’ve made checks on my internet connection and I’m not having any issues as far as ping goes; any other game I play I have no latency issues, ever.

When I’m in a town, all my skills work right away. I can dodge and i’ll dodge instantly and everything I do is very precise. This only happens in combat, I’m not sure how to fix this…anyone have any ideas?

I honestly feel like I’m the only person who mains a thief that welcomes these “nerfs”. Too long have I dealt with these annoying permastealthers, I can’t wait to see how they play now that they can’t just stealth and run away whenever they desire
