I am quite annoyed by the ‘miscommunication’ about the soulbound MF gear staying soulbound and not becoming account bound. I had 2 soulbound MF rings I was hoping to conveniently convert and transfer to an alt.
Just weeks ago, with a slip up like this, Colin would issue an apology and offer to address the matter which was really graceful of him. Unfortunately, such an apology would only be a one-off instance.
This miscommunication about soulbound MF gear and the lack of information about the extent of the karma nerf was a real let down for me in this update.
I used (and reused several times over) my massive stockpile of karma just before the nerf putting aside about 500K karma for the (then) upcoming Ascended inscriptions. Unfortunately, we were never informed the extent of the karma nerf from completing dailies, monthlies and dungeon runs.
Also, with the nerf in karma modifiers not affecting karma jugs, surely we should have been given the option to refund the karma infusions that some of us would not have bought if not for the additional 15% karma yield from karma jugs.
iirc, the reason why the abundance of karma jugs were previously introduced was to assist players with karma collection and to reduce the grinding needed to farm them. Granted, there are definitely a lot of players now with millions of karma currency but is it so wrong for them to have an excessive stockpile of karma? In fact, is it so wrong for both new and existing players to similarly continue to enjoy and be able to acquire karma the way they did before?
There have been a few decisions made by Anet which I don’t agree to but the karma nerf currently tops the list.
I agree with KorKor. It is apparent from the Strangers from the Sky cutscene and the recently released I like Evon video that he was made out to be a villain. Granted, there are players who will vote for a candidate based on what they have promised should they win the election but there are also players who are indifferent to either one and would vote out of their ‘conscience’ for the good guys.
I hope Anet would throw in a ‘twist’ whereby the candidate with lower support halfway through the election period would ‘buy’ support through temporary buffs or even gold(!).
I can see some of the reasons for dyes to be made character only. However, I support any suggestion to make dyes account wide. I was foolish enough to think that it was at first and happily consumed all the dyes I found on a single character.
Reason 1: Prices of dye have skyrocketed and recollecting the dyes will be time (and even gold) consuming. Admittedly, I would rather profit from the price hike than to make my toon’s armor colors special to me.
Reason 2: There’s a lot to collect if you have multiple alts and want a bigger color palette to paint them over. My alts will continue to be in starter colors because of this.
Reason 3: All my toons get to play with a lot more colors
Reason 4: I’d enjoy GW2 and love Anet that much more when a suggestion like this one is realised
Reason 5: There are other creative means for Anet to consider to be able to profit from dyes e.g. introducing more colors, introducing gem store dye converters capable of converting 2 colors into a different color (just like how red and yellow turns to orange), introducing gem store items that will ‘unlock’ multiple special unidentified dyes (similar to black lion chest), etc
Having said all the above, will I still continue to play GW2 despite the lack of colors in my toon? most definitely yes. After all, this is just a suggestion right? I just wouldn’t feel as unique with only starter colors on my alts.
It’s a well designed puzzle even though I’m constantly failing it with my Charr…I wish there was an ‘achievement’ for those failing it over 100 times!
