Ranger:
We’re going to be fixing a bug with Spirit of Nature that caused it to have an incorrect healing power value. We’re also looking at adding combo fields to existing abilities to allow for more play through different combo finishers.
Spirit of Nature: Reduced the healing per second while summoned from 480 to 320.
Viper’s Nest: This ability is now a poison combo field.
(Added) Keen Edge: This trait is now classified as a Survival Skill.

Hey guys these are the changes posted on the proffession balance forum for Rangers.
These are on top of the signet and rune changes already discussed. I kinda thought there would be more, but what do I know about class balancing anyway.

First off let me say I love the Ranger class, but I would like to make a couple of suggestions to make the class a bit more interesting and group friendly.

First, I would like to remove the vulnerability from the greatsword #2 skill (maul) and replace it with a blast finisher. ( I know it’s been suggested a million times already, but I believe the main concern would be it’s synergy with healing spring and that could be adjusted with a 1 second increase in cooldown on maul)

Second, I would like to suggest the removal of the vulnerability on th longbow #2 skill (rapid fire) and turn it into a 100% projectile finisher. (Possibly attach this to the “eagle eye trait or piercing arrows trait” like the warrior longbow in addition to the vulnerability)

I believe these two changes would greatly increase the strategy and group support abilities of the ranger class as a whole.

Also, I am a bit biased as I truly love this games combo system and while there is definitely a place for the vulnerability condition I have always found it to be a bit bland and uninteresting.

Well, what do you guys think? While I’ve been playing this game since release I am definitely a “casual” gamer and could be waaay off the mark on these two changes, espesially the longbow one since I haven’t seen it mentioned before.
