It’s a full glass cannon vs a full squishy (“Sage Amulet, no protection” → base toughness). Try the deadeye on a realistic build vs good players and then tell me again that it’s OP, LOL.

I didn’t have time to play during the first two days. The decay does go away quickly but doesn’t playing with decay put you at a disadvantage rating-wise because you play in a lower tier and lose more points / win less points?

If you only have time to play during these few hours, it’s going to result in decay and you can’t do anything about it. I don’t have time to camp the queue waiting for an option to get rid of my decay.

I only had time to log in for a bit just now and now I’m going to decay by the time I get to play tomorrow. Maybe the days shouldn’t be counted for decay where PvP is down for any amount of time.

They could easily balance it out a little by giving a WXP bonus for capturing objectives with lower amounts of players. Zerg players wouldn’t care since they’d probably still receive more WXP by capturing more objectives than roamers.

Hey man! Looks good! However the stat increase is that minor you won’t really see any difference in the builds survival or damage, what setup you run comes more down to what armor pieces you have access to, long as your hitting those general benchmarks it’s all good!

That’s true of course. I’m not very meticulous about stats normally. Just wanted to put that out there after I accidentally found it while trying to fit my SAB-infused zerker piece into the build (they’re now in the backpack).

I haven’t used this build a lot yet. Do you think D/D ele or ele in general is still worth playing as a newcomer to the class or would you only recommend it to experienced eles such as yourself? And how does it compare to tempest builds, like this one for example?

I suppose it’s too bad you learned the rule today : Never insist to at least win a game in a lose streak, have a break before the 4th loss ^^

I’ll definitely keep that rule in mind on the last few days of a season at least… :P

I get that loss and win streaks happen but I never had one in the whole season so it caught me really off-guard. Yesterday I didn’t even look at my history but apparently I lost 12 out of 13 games… I suppose I should just stay away from the last season day in the future.

I’m sorry if this probably seems like a stupid question but I really can’t wrap my mind around what’s happening today. If you don’t want to read whiny posts about rating you should better not continue now.
I’m only PvP rank 83 so not very experienced and I guess I don’t understand the mechanisms behind this very well so maybe someone with more PvP insight can help me…
I’ve started on day 3 of this season in gold at ~1400 rating and since then I’ve been doing pretty well, the matches were nice and I surprisingly didn’t have something to criticise about my team mates often (other people seemed to have more problems). I often got the appropriate top stats for my class, so I was seemingly doing well, and until recently I climbed to 1550 and mainly sticked there without losing much (till then I had around 60% win rate).

Yet today was total kittenup day for me and I lost almost every match with up to 8 or 9 in a row and now I’m just one loss away from silver again. Nearly every team I was in today seemed totally despaired, struggling to hold anything. I’ve seen like 1 good midfight today even though I was pvping the whole afternoon. Instead most of the time people found it a good idea to keep pushing far when we lost the midfight or at random occasions even though I started telling people not to push far…
I have to admit in the end I was feeling so down that I started to play badly myself but by then I was already all the way at the bottom of my div.

Can anyone explain to me what’s happening to go on such a loss streak? Were people too bad in mid-season so it was easier? Were they better and I got carried through the whole season? :/
I don’t mind losing a lot for a while but I’ve been doing well in gold for the whole season and I don’t wanna be awarded with a silver badge for that (and bad MMR for next season placement).
Maybe next time I should stop 72 hours before season end (that’s the decay timer I think?)
Did anyone have a similiar experience in the past few days?

I know lots of players who play ranked until they reach their desired badge (e.g. diamond or legendary) and then stop playing PvP completely until the start of the next season. They don’t seem to care about the experience that much and just want that shiny sticker or title next to their name. Obviously they wouldn’t mind a faster and more abusable matchmaking.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I have to admit I was wrong about the possibility to change inappropriate names. On the website it says they delete them.
I guess it could indeed be problematic right now but I think all that could easily be fixed if they actually wanted to. With the option to invest so much gold into your guild I think it’s downright unfair that they aren’t doing that. I’m definitely very disappointed. :/

first of all I want to point out that I know ANet’s policy towards guild name changes so please don’t give me any Cpt. Obvious answers (“they don’t change guild names”).

I wrote a support ticket requesting a guild name change, not for aesthetic reasons, but because my guild receives harassment and rude comments for it (Don’t bother asking, I won’t mention the name).
The reply I got was (translated from German): “Unfortunately it’s not possible for us to change guild names right now, because it could cause technical problems for the guild.”
My question to you is what you think about this or if you have any idea why this could cause technical problems.
When a guild name violates the naming policy it can be changed without any problems, right? Maybe I missed something, but I feel kinda neglected as a paying customer.

Looking forward to hear someone else’s thoughts about this. :/
