Events at level 80 are a bit boring so why don’t we get some events with longer duration? Example: Centaurs are attacking Divinity’s Reach and the players have to protect the city.
- The event duration is 1 week or more
- This event has more then one stages and each stage has its own goals
- Players can use catapults, etc
- Geather supplies to protect walls/gates (wvw style but for supplies we can use ores/wood planks)
- Players can craft weapons/armors/food to help npc soldiers
- Special daily achivements what players can do if they are participating in this event
- Guilds can build special weapon. To build this weapon the guild members have to collect weapon parts from dungeons, zones, events, etc.
- When this big event ends players and guilds get some nice loots (what depends on they effectiveness)
This is just an example (event based on wvw mechanics), what I really want to see in gw2 are events with longer duration what players can’t zerg and we can do lot of things like crafting, fighting, guild goals, fun, fun,fun and NOT FARMING

20 jumping puzzles are done – Title 1
40 jps – Title 2 (or weapon token
)
etc..
